If they'd had balls like this in office they might have still been there. Both got rolled by their own respective parties. Ironically, both for wanting to be fair to the People in some respect. Kev wanted to freeze Parliamentary Salaries in the Global Financial Crisis, that can't happen any more Parliament no longer controls Political Salaries and they only go up. Malcolm made no secret in the Party Room that he was Pro Equality but had to tow the line Party line to keep his numbers.

His influence in the defining moment of my generation, the 1975 constitutional crisis, the sacking of the government by the Queen's representative, her reputed involvement in that affair shows Murdoch as a would-be "king maker".
