For the cone type, number the sides with a marker to avoid chasing your tail. A tissue can be used to centre the hole. A suitable spacer ,washer, nut, etc to cover the tip and a bullseye level on that ,you can see l,r balance as well as f,b. Then the surface won't matter so much. Good video, I suspect you tube uses more power than a grinder with a wire brush, if you get sick of hand scraping don't feel guilty 😁

Cheers, too much faff with the lil cone balancer 😃. I tend not to use a wire brush etc as it causes too much dust and mess, its relatively quick with the scraper anyway. 👍

@@RJLgardens I would like to see someone invent a dynamic blade balancer. That would be the best way to balance a blade. But until that day comes I will use my 97.00 dollar balance tool.

And mind your fingers ( ! ) when you pull the magnets forward on the Oregon balancer!
It is a game changer if your hands "buzz" after a days mowing.

This cone balancing really sucks just like the video there is way to much play. A very thin nail works ok to give me an indication. I clean and use a Q-tip to lubricate the blade hole and nail so there is no friction when hanging the blade dead center on the nail👍👍

Nice one, yeh im not a fan of the cone, the proper balancer is a game changer and far more accurate 👍

If you let the balance settle you'll see what the outcome is. It seems like you're afraid somebody will see how rubbish all those blades are and you being the expert? Hanging off a nail is a total farce if you don't know? As the blade rotates on the pin the register shifts from side to side so it is somewhat self correcting and a waste of time. Why dont you have your balancer mounted on a level table, so you can measure the exact position it settles into. then by drilling or grinding you can correct the balance to level as well as horizontal. P.S. you have to let go of it.......................................................

What are you on about 😂, all the blades shown here haven't been balanced yet so of course they are out. Like i said in the vid the nail is not accurate but it does offer SOME indication and is better than doing nothing. Why dont you do a video on it and help us noobs out.......

The nail is a joke. it is not in the center so you have more weight to the bottom.

Yes it is not that reliable however does offer some indication
