Trimming HEDGES On This Scenic Countryside Property
The homeowner was desperate to get their hedges trimmed and neatened up. Light Trimming of the new growth on the front hedges and then tackling the backyard hedges, which in areas needed some hard pruning to try and fill in some gaps from where a section of hedge was removed. Using a single sided hedge trimmer and a battery hedge trimmer for this work. We also get the lawn mower and string trimmer out and mow the lawns, to tidy everything up. This home is situated on a hillside and has some amazing views of the landscape.

Spring LAWN CARE, Scarifying / Dethatching

We are back on this lawn, where we firstly scalped and cut the grass really short. Now we are scarifying it to reduced thatch levels and thin out the sward. We do a couple of passes with the scarifier and then a final mow with the lawn mower to pick up any debris left and to give it a final scalp. Sometimes you just have to reset and scalp your lawn. We do this when the grass is actively growing. If your lawn is more yellow coloured than green, this is possibly worth doing (talking cool season turf). Hello, I'm a gardener in Kyoto, Japan. I was impressed by your wonderful work. I'm glad to see Makita tools, which are familiar in Japan. In Japan, we prefer pruning that is natural, so hedge trimmers are not used much. In Japanese gardens, pruning shears and small hedge trimmers that can be used with one hand are mainly used. The yen is weak now, so please come to Kyoto if you have the opportunity. Thank you for the wonderful video.

My Toro has been leaving snail trails since the day I bought it. Unfortunately, this video was of no help. Zero grass goes into the bag. Everything is connected properly and there are no clogs or obstructions.

Honda mulching mower for the win. Where possible I mulch mow hedge prunings, saves my shoulders from raking and makes a nice finish.👍🌿

It's clearly a Makita, I'd say with at least a 600mm cutting bar. Why not check out their website. This one's going to be top spec.

I love your little trailer and ride on. How handy it certainly makes cleaning up a lot easier. I have a similar trailer, and I never go to jobs without it. I carry my tools in the trailer as well. By the way you did an excellent job cleaning up that hedge.
