- Columbo enters the room as he announces that the bullet that was fired just 3 minutes ago, he pulled out the wall three hours earlier. How can this be?

#Columbo #PeterFalk - Zábava
There are two things that I love about this episode, 1 - The Senator is actually confessing but framing it like a series of questions. 2 - When Columbo says, "you're under arrest sir", and the Senator closes his eyes. Jackie Cooper played this character to perfection, as you really feel the moment he gets caught.
This is my favorite gotcha of all. The acting, dialog and music are perfectly intertwined.
Agreed
One of the best Columbo episodes
It certainly is. Jackie Cooper is one of the most unforgettable Columbo guest stars.
Wszystkie odcinki są dobre 😅
What makes Columbo so respectable is that he never finally confronts the murderer, especially if he or she is a very powerful person, unless he is absolutely sure and with all the concrete evidence he needs. 👍🏻
That's not true. He .. proactively.. confronts the murderer all the time on the show.
@@thelastvigil111 I was referring chiefly to the climactic showdown when Columbo can finally make his arrest.
Oooooh @@mikebasil4832
@@mikebasil4832and that's when he finally confronts the murderer 😂
I love his face when he's caught and with all his friends as an audience. Classic Columbo. Favorite show of all time.
This my absolutely favorite episode ending. A great Gotchya moment
Agreed. I know the "Suitable For Framing" ending is more popular, but this was one of the most brilliant and damning gotchas of the entire series. I can watch this clip over and over again...
The murderer overplayed his hand. He went too far with trying to make it look like somebody was going after him.
That's not unusual for a Columbo villian.
@@lennierofthethirdfaneofchu7286 Good point.
He must have gotten the firecracker from Spanky.
Priceless comment. Thank you.
Defeated by the special three-way rotary system!
Just watched this one last week on my full rewatch of the series. Columbo played it coy all the way to the end, and then he went for the jugular. Love it!
Would you concede there's no gun in the room?
There is a gun in the room. The sergeant has it in his holster.
😂
Congratulations for the Columbo channel’s 200K subscribers. 🥳
Fancy three way rotary. I miss those days.
But the remnants of the squib on the terrace would be obvious!
That’s what I was gonna comment on lol
The guy may have stepped on it.
@@bernhardwall6876 we can’t assume that because we didn’t see him do that.
@@elementrypenguin3116Or we can, because they don’t see it. It makes more sense to assume what fits the results as seen in the scene.
Columbo can get a ballistics report in three hours? In L.A.?? If real life cops could do that (also DNA tests), crimes could be solved almost at the scene of the crime!
I love how he took the bullet to the lab and still brings it back in his hanky instead of an evidence bag.
I don't care that it's a re-upload. I'll still watch, lol.
One of my favorite gotchas in the series, so simple yet so damning. And he was so calm during the heated confrontation too.
this one is great, I always loved that his wife and mistress look like
mother/daughter like he is just trading up 😅
I love Columbo, I watch it almost every weekend. What seems a bit unbelievable to me is that everyone runs into the room after hearing the shot.
One of the best Gotcha moments.
Everyone of the cast was stellar. Jackie Coogan, his wife, the mistress, the Sergeant...what a scene.
Jackie Cooper.
The cocky industructible politician who thinks he's smarter than everyone else.
Yeah, you never see that irl😅
The politician's wife was a Klingon commander in Star Trek.
Actually she was a Romulan commander.
@@RaysBlueBasementWorkshop thank you.
Columbo arrested Captain Kirk twice and arrested Mr Spock and Kahn.
Just wonderful entertainment! Thank you so much! I adore Columbo. I could watch it every single day. Thanks so much for all of these!
Is this the 3rd or 4th time 'Columbo' has posted this segment?
I still watch it. 😋
Where did the firecracker go?
Big mistake huh... and him using a suppressor on the *revolver!!* 😂😂
Probably just quickly picked it up
I remember being so much in love with Joanne Linville! ❤❤❤
Great Romulan👽
It all depended on that firecracker not being a dud
So embarrassing to get caught like that, telling everyone he ain't the killer
And playing on the sympathy of that ignorant young woman. She and the wife both got a hefty dose of undeniable truth. 😞
Love Columbo and especially this episode 😍
The murderer was in the Superman films The Daily Planet editor
Jackie Cooper as Perry White.
He was the perfect person to pick.
This is one of my all-time favorite scenes from the series. You would think they would have noticed only the shredded firecracker pieces. How did he clean it up so fast?
Jackie Cooper was great in this episode
Ehhh just a few more things.
He's a Senator under police protection, why would he, or even a shooter, go in that room and open the blinds? At night.
Why would a shooter determined to kill him, standing on the balcony at close range, take only one shot?
Even if Columbo hadn't beaten him to the punch the entire "attempt" was pretty shaky.
Maybe a shooter could have gotten on the balcony. But getting off and away that quickly without being spotted would be nearly impossible.
The sentence "If I fired the shot...!" is probably the Last thing you want to shout at the cops in this situation.
Then there's the lighter. If the cops are really sharp, they'd say look sir there's been an attempt on someone's life, Nobody is leaving this room until they are re-searched including you. And they'd have found the lighter, at minimum, freshly used. But he likely doesn't smoke. And he'd have no explanation for it because it didn't occur to him to prepare one.
Earlier in the episode, he asked for the cop to buy him cigars
Is that one of those firecrackers from The Bye-Bye Sky High I.Q. Murder Case starring Boss Hogg
Class 🙂
Terrific Columbo gotcha moment...😊🎉
So no one noticed the smoking firecracker remains on the floor?
It wouldn't be smoking but yeah, that was a mistake. And the suppressed... *revolver!!!*
03:13 Columbo dug the bullet out of the wool.
He clearly says "wall."
@@seikibrian8641 woall
I thought he would've try and frame Chubby because both of their interests in Miss Crabtree.
I'd like to discuss the ridiculousness that most of the people ran TOWARDS the gunshot 🤨......
❤ Columbo.....and "as you wish"
Nice work, Lieutenant Columbus.
Like none of the cops would have seen the exploded firecracker on the balcony?
❤🎉❤❤❤❤❤ Супер фильм, очень крутой 😊❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤🎉❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ молодец Коломбо
Happy Mother's Day🎉🎉
One of the best Gotcha moment
I never liked him in the Little Rascals Either!!!!
The police would have inspected the room at least once before he got back. Like the sergeant did earlier in the show.
The window was covered by a curtain and the chair was positioned to hide the wall. Frankly, without any cause for suspicion, why would they even bother?
@megahellreaper Sgt Johnson checked the balcony previously to make sure no one was hiding out the, so he would have done it again.
@@CheoWalker Sure, but he wouldn't be looking at the glass, right?
@megahellreaper he would since when he turned around, he would have seen the crack in the glass. Basically, exactly what Columbo did.
@@CheoWalker Well, no, the Sarge was looking for anybody lurking around, Columbo was looking for what the candidate was doing when he was in the room alone.
Actually thinking about it, there's not even any indication that anybody entered the room with the exception of Columbo since the fake phone call happened.
You're Under Arest Sir!
Poor Sargent left in the dark looking like a dope🤭
Oooooooo, not only is he cheating on his wife, he's cheating on Ms. Crabtree too!
Well they would have found the firecracker and smelt it burning.. totally unbelievable scene. Can't see why so many think this is a good Columbo.
