We can't get enough about dumplings!
Let’s all show some gratitude to the aunties & uncles at these amazing dumpling shops 💛
Thanks forj oining me!!
Ben and Ming I want some dumplings too. You know I love dumplings 🥟 🤤
Ben and Ming are just amazing people and very knowledgeable about food and a amazing friend 😎
Anytime you have Ben And Ming, I know it will be an enjoyable video with great food shots.
Thanks for posting this around lunch time Jon, now i gotta go get myself some dumplings
you choked on that dumpling because you started speaking and inhaled the fumes directly into your lungs!
😖
Thanks for show us all the spots, but thats a ton of walking around for dumplings. It would be nice if we could get to all these dumplings in 1 spot.
Wowwwwwwwwwww that lady was hungry she went ham on that dumpling 🤯🤯🤯
No shortage of good dumpling spots in Chinatown! May need to do a part 2 series
W you too!
Here be Barr is a gem.
As usual, great tour. I did a Chinatown walking tour about two years ago & our guide took us to Tasty Dumpling. Very good!!
💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻
This was fun to watch. Always love seeing the Bings.
Literally taking a spontaneous trip to the city today (2.5 hrs away) to have dumplings now. Can’t wait! Thanks for the inspiration, you got me with the soup dumplings. ❤
I need to move to ny to find a guy like this
The Super Taste dumplings look like "potsticker" or "guo tee" pan-fried dumplings you might find in mid-northeastern China and Shanghai region
My fave dumplings when i go for Shanghainese cuisine
I heard they sometimes connect them lengthwise in a row, similar to the Machete quesadillas in your Mexico city food tour. Definitely on the food bucket list!
Wow, great tip.
Long potstickers with open ends is a style found often in Taiwan and Taiwanese restaurants.
Outstanding video, Jon!! Haven't tried any of these, so now, they're all on my list. Interested to see you do a dumpling tour of St. Marks Place :)
Can’t go wrong with dumplings 🥟!! Love ❤it Jon!!
I can't wait Jon for my next visit to NYC and in particular Chinatown.
Great video, thank you. I'll be there with my granddaughters in a couple of weeks and will give them their first exposure to Chinatown based on your suggestions. Fun tip: Super Taste is just a few doors from the Museum at Eldridge Street, the oldest synagogue in NYC and worth a visit.
yes everybody knows lol
Abother great video Jon. I will be sure to revisit before my next trip to NYC so i can hop on the Q to Canal and eat my way through dumpling heaven!
I can’t wait to move there next year I’ll know all the good places to eat and I’ll definitely be on a budget also nice haircut Barr lol
It's good I went to the last one on my trip to NY. Had that with the peanut noodle combo. Lots of people for sure.
Som great energy in this video
Those are some really good looking dumplings. Fried dumplings are awesome. Cheers! ✌️
Love it! My favorite spot is Tasty! Have visited since I was a child and then took my daughter there growing up, as well. 🔥🐻❄️
I went to Shu Jiao Fuzhou this weekend on my NY trip after seeing your video and loved it!! They did not have vegetarian dumplings but I enjoyed the peanut butter noodles.
6:25 I've been to the XLB museum in Nanxiang, the town Ben from @TheBingBuzz was talking about. Bit of a hike on Line 11 but worth going IMO.
7:25 thanks for the variety! I would never have guessed a Lanzhou noodles eatery would have a dumpling in that shape & style!
Recreated this dumpling tour on my last trip to NYC. Excellent recommendations, but NOTE: as of 02.24.24, Wonton Noodle Garden is permanently closed.
All I can say is WOW! Got to get me some dumplings like right now!
I can’t believe I just discovered your channel after all these years of watching CZcams and food blogger for hours. The algorithm is messed up and you don’t get any love! Glad I found you tho
You didn't go to my go to dumpling place Vanessa's, haven't been in a while but last time I was there it was cheap, I love the frozen dumplings from Trader Joe's really good, eat them with Trader Joe's Gyoza Dipping Sauce yum, I put the dumplings in the steamer they come out perfect
NYC's ChinaTown is a total DumpLing spot!😄 Boy do I miss that vibe! Thank you again Jon for keeping me in touch with my city of birth!
I'll have to do the greasy #1 stop! But, they all look amazing! I'm fortunate to have Main St. so close to me!
Nice good job foods looks yummy
all look great
As a native New Yorker born and bred 48 years I have been only to Chinatown perhaps 5 times in the 80's a few times in the 90's and early 2000's will book mark this video it makes me hungry, thank you friend for this!
Chinatowns in general are usually not popular among locals especially if the person is not Chinese. In the real world, most people in the general public are not foodies and not interested in authentic Chinese food even if it’s good.
7:17 I think a shot of tequila after the vinegar is needed to complete the experience 😂
Wonton Noodle Garden is closed, walked by there yesterday. Tasty Dumpling was great and pretty quiet for a Saturday lunchtime.
Delicious dumpling 😋👍
Next time do a video on Bao’s!!
I'm not really big on eating fried dumping but after watching your videos I have to try it!
Fried dumplings are usually crappy especially at restaurants catering to non Asians. But if it’s a good version, it’s worthy
Loved this, Jon! The only improvement would have been a Ben the Camera-Man cameo. Keep going forward, and thank you!
Yes! Another foodie video. Awesome 🤓
When you say vinegar do you mean soy sauce?
The fried dumplings look so delicious
Dumplings are just my favorite food in the world so…yeah
I don't think Cantonese food is spicy at all unless you douse it with spice. It should be eaten as is to savor them in their natural flavor and not hide it. I do understand some of those dishes come from different parts of China and probably are served on the spicy side😊
A lot of the dumplings which they ate in this video are totally unnecessary to put vinegar or Chile oil in. They taste pretty good without these condiments.
Wish i saw this video a couple months ago. Every time i go to Manhattan for business trip, i try to find a dumpling spot; preferably soup dumplings.
Hey I’m a big fan of your content can you please make me a list of what to do in October. I will be out there towards the end of october
Wonton and Siu Mai are not the same! While they are both considered dumpling, siu mai is exposed, while wonton is completely covered by the wrapper and it has tail. Because wonton is suppose to have a long wrapper tail to look like a koi fish
I loooooove me some Ming!
I just tried to stop by today, 5/7/23, and Tasty Dumpling has a C health score and Shu Jiao Fuzhou has a pending health score :(
What was in the sriracha sauce is was very liquified ?
i'm really glad you guys didn't highlight the actual SPOT down there in China Town. ya'll know the one.
This is the one
At 7:25 the dumpling called “pot stickers”
2nd spot is really wanton
hello hdbarr, the garden with dumplings is the best chicken soup (soup or water from steaming chicken) - to serve all the other noodles soup. elle for more scallions in soup pls
the potstickers shaken was a little :( he can try it with the sauce or without.
the environment friendly boxes there for the dumplings are nice - used to be the clear covers on top. are these microwave friendly too - been cooking dumplings at home (frozen).
What about Wo Hop??? I'm born and raised in Brooklyn, st to this day, and Wo Hop is my go to, and most New Yorkers I know, when in Chinatown Manhattan. It's super nostalgic and been in Movies. Love late nights in a the city at Wo Hop.
China chalet in Wall St area had good dim sum and dumplings.
Sadly closed.
Not all dumplings are created equal😊
Those boiled silky dumplings from the Wonton Noodle shop is not shumai. I’d call it shuigao.
Idk if I wanna try deluxe green bo . If you stop at 6:19 they have a C grade 👀
2:55 surely those are wontons, not shumai 😅
**Ok, it's explained a bit later on
Those bigger soup wantons are called “Sui Gow”. We don’t call them “Shu Mai”
The 红油抄手 looked good, but you need some 镇江香醋.
Yes Chinatown, NY is legendary. But, being from Flushing, please go there and do a Asian food walk.
$4 for 8 dumplings what a steal!!!!!
I'm calling foul on the first place watering down the sriracha! 😂
ahahahah
1:00 4 bucks for 8 dumplings is an absolute steal!!! My only grumble is so much wasted/plastic packaging. Can't they use recycable cardboard or something?
Truthfully, these dishes look better than ones I've ate in Beijing, and that says a lot in regards to each dish depicted in this video filmed in New York. It's what makes Chinatown in Manhattan more than just legit enough, it's what makes Manhattan's Chinatown the real deal!
Well northern Chinese cuisine is a bit different. A lot of these dishes are more common in southern china, around Guangdong, Hong Kong, Fuzhou, etc
Edit: or Shanghai
I love Chinese dumplings but I’ve also been super impressed with dumplings in Korea. That said, so far I haven’t found good Korean dumplings in America that was just as good as in Korea
Cheapest is Fried Dumplin in the alley side street
MSG Galore
personally in my experience i think white american guys are more adventurous when it comes to ethnic foods than white women, not sure why that is. Btw 2:45 this is wonton, not siu mai.
👍🏽
My favorite CZcamsrs!
1:20 the sriracha should not be that runny, they definitely watered it down... a lot.
Tasty Dumpling is absurd - so good and so cheap. I actually wouldn't take a friend their because it's so cheap. Though I have got it with my little boy and another family with kids when we were in the neighborhood. And we ate in that park with the basketball courts.
Eating soup dumplings outside does not see right to me - too delicate. My favorite place is Shanghai Asian Cuisine on Elizabeth.
🥰😋😋😋😋🥰
#teamdumpling
I wish these places had more non-pork dumpling options 🙁
I love dumplings. never had a dumpling? who are these people?
If you go by today to tasty dumplings they have not a A grade but a pending grade 😢😱
NYC is like 1000 years ahead of Africa.
饺子包子!
I wonder if there's such a place as a bougie dumpling house.
if it existed, prob be in Soho
@@HereBeBarr Surely a bougie CZcamsr will direct you to the right place :)
Not in NYC but on the west coast search for "Din Tai Fung"
Siracha chili sauce is one of the worse chili sauce , can't understand why Amreican so fancy with Siracha
Is this a trick question?🙂
I ordered the Wuhan Covid special
Hi Ming, you’re cute❤😊
Stay away Chinatown after 5 pm; majority of businesses are close. There are awesome Korean, Japanese, and Chinese soup dumplings near Time Squares. Sorry, Chinatown; I went there this late afternoon and was disappointed.
FLIED DUMPRINGS-DERICIOUS!!
For those who are worrying about health, Chinese eat these food every day and China's life expectancy is now higher than that of the US. Face the fact, some stereotype ideas of US against China are just wrong. It is wise to stop thinking US thing is always right just because it is US.
OMG if you've never had a dumpling, i pity you.
cuz its cheap fast easy to eat fast to get
@6:17 woah, it's the first time I see an nyc restaurant with a hygienic rating of C. That place must have atrocious sanitary practices
U should order more chinesse food no dumplings 😢
When in NYC, we never miss Joe's Shanghai soup dumplings.
Thats a great spot, very busy/touristy.
@@HereBeBarr Very much worth the wait. Never been disappointed. At one point, they had a satellite restaurant near central park, but I think that's gone. Food was the same, but not quite the same atmosphere as the Chinatown location.
That couple are robots I think…
Ngl this girl kinda sorta cute
I've tried to like sriracha, but I just can't. Bleh. It's not even authentic. It was invented in California.
haha
This food is not healthy. Save yourself pains in the future and avoid the fat and salty foods (Are they really foods?)

Joe's is still the best.
and be prepared to be constantly hounded to buy everything from knock off prada bags to fake perfume -
i ve been to tasty dumpling....food can be greasy
