    Well done they look incredible Steve, with your tremor and my tremor, we’d look a right funny pair. I ended up before this admission to hospital, spilling resin, knocking paints over time and time again wearing it on my clothes. You’d think I’d wear an apron wouldn’t you? Never mind , but these look amazing

    When you don't have an air assist at your laser: tape the wood before cutting! Paper tape is pretty cheap and does a good job with preventing the smoke on the surface.

    I am so happy to see you working with this xTool D1 Laser Cutter! I have been looking at laser cutters for a few days now. I don't want to work with wood so are you planning on showing any videos on using the xTool D1 with acrylic sheets? I'm wanting to make my own templates for making molds to use with resin. So far, I have found that I don't want a laser cutter that has a blue light. It doesn't cut blue nor clear acrylics. So much to learn! LOL But, I would love to see a video of you using this machine with acrylic? Now that I've said this, and I see that you posted this a year ago, I probably should go check out the rest of your videos to see if you did upload one! Great vidoe!

    Very cool. You sound like me. If I can bump, tip, fill in the wrong spot, get it stuck to me somehow, then yep I will find a way...lol. I bought a pressure pot months ago and haven't used it yet. All the tutorials on how to use it and what molds can go into it and how long are basically on how to put it together. I so enjoy all your experiments and your love of glitter. I personally have a love/hate relationship with glitter. As much as I love it. I make a mess and then it will take about a year for it not to show up on something...lol

    so excited about the new cutting tool you have - i checked out the website and really wish I had room for one, soon. Anyway, couple of questions. One, what is the deepest it can cut, should you use specific wood or does it matter. Re the sticky tape you used to put your cutouts on, I have found with some of the products I have used, when I pull them off, the back of the resin is still sticky, which i don't like, any thoughts or suggestions on how to prevent this?

    • @SteveMcDonaldCrafting
      @SteveMcDonaldCrafting Před 2 lety

      I don’t think it matters for the first question. I didn’t find this clear plastic left any sticky. But when it has happened to me in the past I use just a little tiny bit of baby oil on a lint free cloth and it completely removes any sticky without affecting the resin. Hope that helps. 😀

      You might check to see 8f you have a local Makers Space. The Tulsa Central Library has a great one but there's also a couple of other places in town with it.
      Seems to me that it might make a good side hustle to cut things out for people & mail it to them.
      Although I just remembered that Dollar Tree has little cutouts that might work for this too. I think you get 6 in a pack.
      I've avoided DT in the couple of years because I had too many craft things I wasn't using. Then I started resin this month & now I've been back twice.

      the other thing that people selling their stuff is making sure the free artwork they find online allows them to make money from it. a lot of them are for personal use only and is illegal to sell a piece made from its design. its better to find a design program and then import that into the print program.
