The part about adding a way for blind people to identify the different types of notes was actually a really good point.
I was thinking the same
Fun fact: a lot of other countries make their bills different sizes for this very reason. In fact, the US and Canadian are pretty much the only two major currency systems in the world that don’t. Canada doesn’t really need to though since they actually do have braille on all their bank notes so, yeah, the American blind are uniquely screwed when it comes to money it seems.

Lots of countries use braille on their bills like canada
The having different shapes to distinguish different bills is actually a pretty good idea. These videos are getting more and more logical...
A lot of currencies have ways to distinguish bills for the blind. Canadians have Braille, Euros have different sizes, with three different possible edges to make distinguishing the bills easier. - in fact the next redesin of the US-Dollar will feature tactile elements to make it easier for the blind and visually impaired to distinguish money.
Yeah, but his design needs a little work, since one can cut the corners of a 1 1grain bill and make it become a higher 1grain bill.

a smarter man would get rid of it all together. Do you not know that money is a tool made and used by slavers? Money was only made to bribe people into doing things they normally wouldn't do. Also, the world went from "money being used for pleasures and privileges" to "everyone has to have it to get any and all things" its a system. If you don't have money, you go without. Even if its food, or water, or whatever, if you dont have money, you might as well die. Whats the point in living if you HAVE to have something to bribe someone else with just to live? Makes no sense to me. Too bad the world (aside from wild animals) has forgotten how to "provide for themselves." Now grocery stores and stores in general replace our natural world where everything was free, you just had to put in the effort to get it. Sad world we live in. Don't @me.

Hi
Hi
Fun fact: Australia’s currency is one of the hardest, if not the hardest, to counterfeit. We have plastic notes, which are transparent in down the middle, holographic designs and even some secret little bits to make sure. All our notes vary in size too!
and our new notes actually have braille too ahahaha, Australia already made better money :)
Same as Britain's
Quite a lot of countries do that. (But you can still be proud of it: Australia invented the technology, and other countries license it.)
Yeah but the $5 always rips down the plastic for me
I'm Australian and I never knew our notes had different sizes but I only have $20 notes nearby so I can't compare the notes
This makes a lot of sense and I like how you made it accessible
In Colombia, we have a system in which as bigger the bill as much it worths and we have a non-sense braille in our bills that ends disappearing with the use
You should use the most "cut" edges for the smallest bill because if the goal is for the blind, people could easily cut/fake the 1grain bill and pretend they give the 1000 or something
i see your point; however, someone would feel the other edges and feel their corner / side cutouts. also, i think cashier boxes would have very specific slots so if the middle circle was not exactly correct the grain would not fit or the machine would read it as the wrong grain
@@crymeariverffs E
It could be made out of something you cant cut
@@ashes9150 I think something about the size of a dollar that is impossible to cut would cost far more than the 25 cents that it’s worth
guess what? a penny costs more than 2 cents to produce! and it doesn't matter!
Fun fact: Here in Brazil the bills do have different sizes to help blind people. The more value it has, bigger it is.
Not only that, money bills here have different texture patterns all over the bill that helps people with vision problems distinguish each one!
Actually, Brazil has one of the most well developed financial system of the globe in most aspects - money bills tech; what we call PIX (instant money transfers that works with every bank and fintechs); anti money laundry intel and many other cool stuff
In fact, also euros notes aren't same, bigger value, bigger note

A globalized currency, encouraging free trade and international cooperation? BASED BASED BASED! Truly, you are objectively right about everything!
Countries be like:, "but I Wana control my own curencyyyyyy"
@@lachlanmc2335 It's not just about controlling currency though. To have a shared currency, you need to relinquish a certain amount of sovereignty to a shared governmental body -- For example, in the EU, the commission and central bank create policies regarding taxation, debt limits, and free market which countries must follow. If countries shared a currency but were completely free to create their own laws, they could easily create monster debts and abuse the stability of the larger economical zone in a parasitic way (See 2007 Greek governmental-debt crisis).
There's certainly large advantages to having a shared market and shared currency, but all participants do need to operate within the same set of rules for it to work. I think it's much too early for most of the world to collaborate on such a scale.
One country falls, all countries fall

We should actually make this kind of thing a reality
The only real problem would be that making the bills worth less per 1 makes even more inflation, but other than that yeah it should.
I legitimately love the idea of the edges being different for different bills
Jokes aside, having an international currency would be a terrible idea
edit: There are a couple reasons why. For one, an international currency would require a single international bank, which is practically impossible. Countries also have very different needs. If you had one currency, every country would be connected economically, which would screw every country, but especially screw countries with a low GDP. You could also look into things like currency devaluation and debt, but the summary would be that countries have different economic needs, and every country or economic region having their own currency would allow for more flexibility. The reason why the EU can have their own currency is because every EU country is connected economically.

Plot twist: The 1000 grain cd contains a recording of Never gonna give you up 😮
I like some of the ideas here. The thing that bugged me the most is that the shapes on the edges was chosen arbitrarily. (Make them have a certain number of indentations or something)
Also, as someone has pointed out before, the edges would make the bill more susceptible to damage and stacking them would be more difficult too. (Make them rectangular but have textured markings on the back, just like how all the countries already have who put more thought into it than 'money but it's paper')

Well actually, in Australian coin history, there once was something called a Holey-dollar, similar to the 1000 Grain coin. It also has a round cutout in the middle and is also very big. I can tell you this because I seen one myself in a coin museum :)
A lot of countries have that. I know Egypt does, and I’m pretty sure China used to as well
