I’m excited to one day build a farm that allows me to reasonably use this
Well I've seen some ridiculous stacking raid farm that would do!
....And a insane flex-based bathering farm.
@@Tardifosaurus I dont know if bartering can out produce the sorting raid farm might cuz the totems and crossbows count as a stack of 64 but the only farm I know of that can bring the sorting system to its knees is a looting 3 guardian farm I seen multiple reach into the 1m items range but for the most part there's no real need for this sorting speed
Large scale piglin bartering would justify this. Without water in the nether you'd have to either make a waterless version or push the items into the overworld with slime blocks, then sort them with this (and chunk load your bartering setup in the nether). Not a simple project, by any means, but a fun one!

@@thankyoujesus1143 the barthering farm I was refering used 256 piglins 😅. There was stacks of blackstone and gravel and more every trade cycle

At 5:13 I say "overstacked" filters; this is wrong. They're actually SS15 filters.

first of all, that's an amazing sorter!
I have been following you for some time now and I really like your sorters.
I just wanted to let you know, that you don't need to hold an item when you want to clear your inventory. you can just shift click on the X :)
This is amazing, I love how little lag it causes, but I wish that there was a shulker box loader or other kind of storage system that could keep up with this, but unfortunately that would be limited by hopper speed, unlike this sorter.

I feel the better use of this is blacklisting items from a large farm and burning them below as with enough filters you can guarantee the output at the end of the line will only be unstackables. Ex: sorting out sticks and glass bottles from a raid farm so you can collect totems of undying in bulk.

The amount of time it took for those 9 full chests to be sorted made me uncomfortable.
I’ve been experimenting with using stack separation sorting with variable sorters as a way to separate item types for parallel input into a main storage. It seems promising so far as a relatively simple solution to parallel sorting.

Just stumbled upon this and amazing stuff, jaw literally dropped watching it. Does it work with a constant stream of items that aren't necessarily a full stack or do you need a buffer to allow items to bunch up and then go through the system? Either way it's such an elegant system watching it work. Can only imagine a shit ton of shulker box loaders working in tandem to gather the items to be the only reasonable solution to collection 😂

question: for the waterless version in nether, is there a way to add more sorter slice?
I think entity seperation sorting has a lot of potential, but the main issue of it for me is that I can't find a proper box loader setup for it, which makes it ever-so-slightly less appealing than the standard 1wt sorter+loader spam.
check out ianxofour piglin trading farm, it has a box loader that u might find useful for this, it's what im using (i just made a few of them at the bottom where all the items fall)

Yesterday I thought "weighted pressure plates are the most useless redstone component" then I see this absolute chad and his machine.
Is it just me or do the items behave differently in 1.20?
The stack seperation still works fine but they dont get pushed down by the sorter anymore. They fly off or just go through.
Did they change something in the code with item allignment or water streams?

@@happ1less1917 I tried that and it sadly doesnt work either. Better thats for sure, but not reliably. Maybe im doing something wrong or it is directional now but it doesnt work reliably.

@@otta3680 I am on 1.20.4. I had the same issue but replacing the blue ice with glass solved the issue as happ1less1917 suggested.
I really love this build dude! I'm trying to use it for a piglin bartering nether setup and extended it to 13 filters per each side. Only problem, most items for the additional sections are getting stuck or burnt. Any idea how to fix this? I'm a bit stumped.

This is great and all, but how do I keep the items from being despawned? Hoppers too slow for this world
Can this theoretically be adapted into a parallel unloading array?
If the following is possible:
Instead of keeping 63 items in the filters, allow it to run down to 0 then the items are filled by those that are unloaded.
Each different item goes into a buffer which unloads at 1hs or 2hs depending on the system.
Seems a lot more elegant to me than the set based one by Glotz.
I’m setting up a storage hall and have Glotz’ system connected but was looking at either designing my own or adapting a stack separation system like this one

Bit sad that the music is quite a bit louder then your voice, makes it a bit hard to listen to.
Add cubicmetre's shulker unloader then all thats left is mojang needs to add a way faster way to load chests/shulkers then we can have the world most over engineered item sorting system that unloads and sorts into shulkerboxes at 1m items/hour

Hey i tried connecting the stacks separator to 1 set of 8gt stack sorters, however sometimes the left 8gt sorters would block some stacks and then clog (piston budding infinitly), and cant find why.
It's a bit sad cause i can use mixed shulker loaders and separate one item type, would be great
We did identify some unreliability with this design. However, if you hop on over to the Storage Tech Discord, Glotz and I have an updated version that fixes it.
