      @@obd6HsNIt's just a different system, I personally think it's better than the UK for domestic, but the UK beats any other type of install, one of the reasons for this is we just don't have the selection of cables and containment, here you'll not find galv trunking, SWA, MICC.......

    Something happened to Tenerife prices because when I worked there they were cheaper than UK. Most people filled there suitcases with booze and fags on return. Mine were filled with plumbing fittings and diamond blades. Or he's not getting the correcto descuento.

      The grid system is around the same price as the UK, tax here is between 3% and 7% everything is brought in. We dont get a fancy one unit double socket.

  • @TheEulerID
    @TheEulerID Před 10 měsíci +6

    Wow, those prices for switches...
    Also, no radials? Seriously? That would seem to make for a huge number of breakers. Just what the electrical difference is between three sockets in a single box (allowed) and three sockets in separate boxes (not allowed), I have no idea.
    Also, IP55 is most certainly not completely waterproof. I think that UK external socket enclosures tend to be IP66, and even those aren't wholly waterproof.
    Incidentally, I do like the idea of mixing makes in a CU. The devices ought to be produced to a standard set of physical sizes. A lot of the regulations on this just pander to the manufacturers.

    • @9plusinstalaciones
      @9plusinstalaciones Před 10 měsíci

      Yes prices have shot up over the last 10 years or so. So yes we don't use rings or radials since 2002 we loop into the register boxes and join up all the individual circuit supplies there.

    • @9plusinstalaciones
      @9plusinstalaciones Před 10 měsíci

      They are actually IP44

    • @TheEulerID
      @TheEulerID Před 10 měsíci +1

      @@9plusinstalaciones At least it's not one breaker per box then, but not being allowed to daisy-chain sockets seems to me to be very wasteful on wires. So two boxes fairly close in the same room must have their own dedicated wire back to the registry box duplicating much of the route and taking up more conduit space. I suppose there's a good reason, but I'm not sure what it is.

    • @9plusinstalaciones
      @9plusinstalaciones Před 10 měsíci

      @@TheEulerIDYeah so you normally have a box per room, you run the supply from the board or another box to them, it's a spider system, runs are normally short and it there's any damage, drilling etc you can just disconnect in the box and fire back up without having to exchange the cables. In a round about way, it's a lot easier to fault find
