- @Mahmood-Official & BLANCO won the 72nd Festival di Sanremo with their song 'Brividi' and with it the opportunity to represent Italy at the Eurovision Song Contest on home soil in Turin.
This will be Mahmood’s second Eurovision appearance having already represented Italy with his song 'Soldi' in 2019, finishing second in Tel Aviv.

I respect Italy for the fact that they almost always sing in their own language, unlike most other countries. Тhat is how it should be, for each country to show its language and culture, and not for everyone to sing in English
True. But one must say that Italy usually sends to Eurovision the song that wins the Sanremo Festival, where singers must sing in Italian only.
I would love it for main English speaking countries Irish, uk to send a song in gaelic or welsh, irsh etc. If Australia has other languages aswell i would love to hear it x

Agree. if they had put the same energy as they did in Sanremo they could have easily been on the podium. yet I'm still happy that Italy didn't perform poorly in the results like it usually happens for host countries.
I cannot understand why they ruined the performance in the Final. I mean, this song is so magical, and we see that in San Remo they did nothing but just singing. The camera shots were even better that the Eurovision ones. I can connect more with the performance of San Remo than the Turin one. If they had brought this production to the Grand Final I am sure they would have won, they only needed to bring this.
And by the way, they had a very well tuned voices in San Remo. Why they made so bad in Turin?

@@robernerazzurri I'm guessing RAI didn't want to host again? I watched their other live performances before the final and they were great. Then again, other artists that night also had parts in their performance that were out of tune so it was probably an issue with the sound.
Oh no, the Gran Final version was much better! The first chords of the song in the San Remo version didn't sound good, so they removed it and Mahmood started the song a capella, which is much better. It suited the song. And ofcourse a live orchestra is preferable, but during some chords the orchestra was too loud. The Gran Final performance was absolutely fabulous! And ofcourse they should have won.

The song is GORGEOUS and their Sanremo performance is too! Sadly it was obvious the nerves got to them at Eurovision finale. And it makes sense, especially for Blanco being so young.

It's hard to believe how well these two managed to sing this live. Vocally there's very little difference between this and the studio cut. This will certainly do well.
The studio track vocals are overproduced. Live version is better because it's their natural voices (no tuning).

You can clearly hear Blanco isn't using auto tune, instead you might be thinking that Mahmood is but he's not. That's his natural voice, someone referred to this particular trait of his as "natural auto tune". He was simply perfect the first night so that's also why you might be thinking there was auto tune involved, instead if you listen to the performances from the second or third night, when there were a couple of mistakes from him, you will hear when he goes off pitch that there's absolutely no correction to his voice.
@@jonathancavallin4920 Yeah, the first chorus where Mahmood sung Brividi you could def hear it. I showcased this song to a friend while driving, told her to look up this song live and then said "I said live version" she said it was it. Mahmood sounded like he had auto tune.
italy's competition for first place every year with a song sung in its native language is the greatest indicator of its quality

I think the main reason why Italy always surprises Eurovision fans is that its songs are not designed for Eurovision at all. Since 2015, they have to come per regulation from the Sanremo Music Festival, which isn’t just a national selection: in Italy, it’s the most important musical event of the year, and often considered the showcase for the contemporary Italian music scene. It is older than Eurovision (which began 5 years later) and much more followed by Italians themselves! Moreover, the winning song is designated by two different professional juries and a televoting, so the standards are always very high!

It's because the casting (Sanremo) alone is a big event in Italy, independent of the ESC. So the winner there is already a "proper" national winner, and not just some random singer that some jury chose.

@@foxowl5977 mahmood starts very out of tune in the Eurovision final and then when they start singing im pretty sure blanco is singing in a different key. They also change some of the instrumental, removing part of the piano and cutting out part of Blanco’s verse to make the total song shorter which just as a whole kills the entire song.

Comunque sono riusciti a creare un'atmosfera magica anche nella finale dell'Eurovision . Essendo stata tagliata , la versione originale integrale rimarrà sempre la migliore .

At first, I felt like expected more from a song by Mahmood, because I expected something more like Soldi, then I listened to this song a few more times and came to a realization, I see why people would like it, but it just still wouldn't find it for me. Then after a few more listens, trying to figure out why I wasn't feeling this song I realized, I was looking for the next Eurovision song, Eurovision format and this song wouldn't meet it, because it is simply too good for Eurovision, and I say that with all my love and respect for this competition because it is like a holiday for me. And then I realized that this is the reason why this song is so good, this is the reason why Italy might be the host for two years in a row. This is a simple, pure and intimate masterpiece expressing genuine feelings, making me feel feelings and even tho it is in a language I'm not familiar with, it speaks to me on levels I cannot explain, It genuinely gives me shivers (or should I say Brividi). Both Mahmood and Blanco are amazing and they will have many new fans after Eurovision. I can't believe how mature Blanco is as an artist at such a young age.
And it's even more amazing if you take into account that Blanco emerged only in the late 2020 and due to the pandemic didn't have almost any chance to perform in front of a live audience. His first Sanremo night (this video) was his third live performance in front of an audience in his life. Absolutely mind-blowing.

@@lontrine6947 This was 30 seconds longer which made it more complete than it was in ESC imo. The vocals were a lot better here as well.
@@oskarnorgren4383 yeah the performance was really weird in the final, for some reason Mahmood started off-key and then went back to the right key halfway through but then at the point they start singing together Blanco was out of tune? Then some of it was just off beat as well which was such a shame no clue what happened.

How are Italy so good again! They literally could have won the competition for the last 5 or so years in a row, and it would be well deserved.
Because their San Remo music festival has an big importance by himself and it's not an ESC thing. That's the build in advantage Italy and Sweden (with their Melodivestival) have compared to any other countries.
Last weekend I had the most imporatant national competition in my whole life. It was about writing a file about two books. The whole morning and literally 5 minutes before the competition I was listening to Brividi, relax. I didn't care about other people around me, there was just me and my love Mahmood and Blanco. Now we have results and I have 50/50 points and 1st place in the country of like hundreds participants. Brividi is magic, these two guys are magic. I hope Brividi will help you too. I love Mahmood and Blanco so much❤️
