    Josh, growing up as a kid at the age of 8 I lived in a tent with my parents and 4 other siblings for almost a year. My parents never abused us, we ate a lot of potato soup and bread in a bowl as cereal. I guess today someone would call CPS on my parents but I loved my parents dearly. I always believe when I see questionable situations, "There, but for the grace of God, go I". I thought about that particular video and prayed they received grace. We have to be careful and judicious calling authorities on some down on their luck and do so only if we can ensure maltreatment is occurring. You do exercise good judgement in my opinion.

      Child neglect is also a reason. One of my nephews and his wife had their 5 kids taken away by CPS, and their parental rights were terminated, because they were sending their kids to school unwashed and wearing dirty clothing, and not providing adequate food for their children. But their mother always had enough money for her cigarettes and alcohol. As a retired teacher I can assure you that it is almost impossible to get CPS to do anything except for extreme cases of neglect or molestation. CPS is very hesitate to remove children from their parents even though some parents are unsuited to parent children. It appeared the kids in #117 had a place to sleep and eat and had adult supervision. That is not cause for CPS to intervene. In my 30 years of teaching saw several cases of possible neglect and molestation but couldn't prove it, and that's the problem.

      No they do not! Ive had children split up because no family members could take the children. I used to work with cps and no longer do because of how cps works. They put abused children in foster homes & especially not together as siblings. We had a native american family , just because they were living in a tent, cps took the children. The girls were 9,11 & 13. The foster parent molested & r*ped them. Both parents were working but cps workers were horrible!!! Even after the parents got their children back, the girls were never the same. The 2 little boys from that family were in another foster home. My experience with them has not been positive at all…

My oldest son would go to school and tell stories to get attention but yhe school would call CPS. One case worker was able to look thru the story and all would be good. Another case worker would tell me to stop lying and would threaten me to have arrested for neglect. But in the end it was always proven that it was all a story.

The family was probably doing family stuff until you arrived lol. But also those are situations like this that don't need to be shared to all the freaks in this world. 👊👍. • @richardbalkavich479
    @richardbalkavich479 Před rokem +1

    Cps is not prison for kids. They just check on the kids (from someone making a report) that they are cared for with the basic necessities of life and that they are loved and not abused. If they decide the parents need help or guidance they may remove the kids temporarily and place them in foster care which can be a family member if they want to go through the process to become their foster parents. Cps’ goal is ALWAYS to reunite the kids with their biological parents, it doesn’t always go that way but is up to the biological parents to make that happen. There are kids that are alive today because they were removed from a horrible family situation and are loved by their foster family or adopted family in a permanent removal. Everybody has their opinion about this on both sides. Cps is not a perfect system but doing nothing would be detrimental to our youth.

  • @CyranoHounds
    @CyranoHounds Před rokem +8

    Hi Josh. Thanks for the update. I do have to say that CPS is a bad place for kids in some instances. Foster parents are often doing that for the same reason this mother was spitting out kids... for money. In the end, a shed with illegal power hookup is not a safe place for children, let alone adults. The water "hookup" (and probably whatever is going out) is not allowed either. Not to mention they think it is theirs, when it is not. I hope they are in a better place now.

  • @CecilEllis-bq4ju
    @CecilEllis-bq4ju Před 8 měsíci +1

    I disagree. It may be different here, but CPS doesn’t remove them from the home unless there is abuse. CPS will get the family assistance if necessary. Also kids do not go into institutions they go into well trained and well investigated families homes. And are continually check on medically and physically to make sure they are not abused. We were foster parents for over 20 years. And children went back to their bio families once the situation was better. The situation didn’t need to be perfect, just adequate.

    As a licensed foster parent I can tell u that there are three sides to every story, theirs, yours and the side you don’t see or hear! I say that cause a lot of hate going out to CPS and or foster parents! There are jaded CPS Workers in every state, and there are foster parents who are in it for the wrong reason in every state! The training I was given and have learned over the years has taught me that when you assume you make an ass out of you and me (ass u me) it’s easy to do and we are all human but stop and put yourself in someone else’s shoes first like josh said! There are families of six or seven living in 400 square feet apartments in big cities all over America and some run by slum lords ! There are tiny home families that intentionally sell everything to be minimalist! Everyone assuming that the electrical and plumbing hook ups are illegal need to stop! Unless you have been inside and inspected it you don’t know! That’s my point we as an audience only saw a small snippet of that situation so none of us have enough relevant information to risk tearing a family apart! Lastly unless you have personally had any experience with CPS or rogue foster parents, Stop propagating other people’s horror stories as fact! I’ve learned that about 50% of the people that tell me CPS is bad have no actual experience with them. There sister’s cousin twice removed had them called on her or there neighbors step moms aunt from Albuquerque lost her son for no reason , later to find out she was court ordered into rehab for the third time after almost overdosing in front of her kids again! Sorry for the rant!

      Exactly. The few foster parents that do it for the wrong reason and just for the money give all of the great, which most are, foster parents a bad rep. I've known families that had foster kids and those kids were treated with nothing but love and compassion. Some were even adopted. I know personally of 2 cases when CPS was called. Both times was so beneficial for those kids. They are living great lives now. CPS does not put the kids in a "jail". Josh is right. He did not know if there was any abuse nor did he know what the situation inside was. For all we know there might not have even been 6 kids. Might have just been a ploy to get pity. I knew a family with 4 kids that lived in a 4 room house. The kids slept on bunk beds in the bedroom and the parents slept on a hide-a-bed sofa in the living room. That house was so clean you could eat off the floor. The kids were clean, had clean clothes, were well fed, were happy and did well at school. Nicest kids you'd ever want to meet. The parents were eventually able to save enough money to buy a used mobile home. I agree. Don't be so quick to judge people.

    I agree with the consensus. CPS does nothing constructive. Also, any child who is placed in an orphanage can attest to the fact that they ARE like a prison, and a large percentage of foster homes are even worse, treating children like slaves, and even abusing them mentally, physically, and sexually. It is also true that only babies appeal to most couples looking to adopt.

    I think you make an excellent point about the difference between a poor family facing difficult circumstance and actual abuse. It's bad enough if the family has no money, but yanking the kids and putting them in the system could just make a bad situation ever worse.

    Children who get taken get placed in emergency shelter/home until more permanent placement can be arranged. There is a court hearing with parents to determine what's going to be done. State's position is to try and unite children with biological parents or relatives. I far as I know there is no CPS "prison." I'm speaking from experience.

    Poverty is not child abuse, if the basics are supplied. Poor doesn't mean dirty, or unloved or neglected, or physical abuse. If things keep going the way it is, we are going to see a lot of it. Tent cities. Etc. All our money is going to illegal citizens and other countries. Not affordable housing or programs to help people. Sometimes you will have children then accidents or unemployment in certain areas happen after kids. Seen that in the 70's, during the recession. Back in the day and still are places that do not have running water or bathrooms as we know them. They are clean. most of us would not know what a hard week or survive the lives some live, doing the best they can. Be kind, be giving, and have compassion for others. Peace!

    Hello from Canada 🇨🇦 I am new here and enjoying your content .. thank you for that 🙏 I want to say I have personally not had issues with child protective services but I have seen many many Good hard welling families torn apart by them .. one example I want to share is a farming family I know .. they have had children literally torn from them .. reasons such as kids half dressed running around with no shoes on farm ,also Hélio faith chores such as cutting firewood .. the list goes on they are never left alone and are monitored.. these folks don’t drink or drug and they work numerous jobs to stay afloat .. they are a big family.. people need to understand about them .. I mean really understand about what they are really about .. I could go on and on about the things I have seen .. and the more you stand up to them the more they come full force on trying to steal your kids ..

    My wife and I were awarded our 3 grand children from CPS because of neglectby their motherwas "Sick after her significant other passed away. the kids were better off with us but CPS did not do what they promised to do , get the help our daughter needed Long story. I was a school bus driver 1 school year. Never again. The school administration and New York State dropped the ball where one family was concerned, the Grandmother came on to my bus and litterly beat a kindergarten kid about the head and back because he would not sit in the designated seat in front . I was told to call the state office of Education to report the incident. Fair enough. The person I spoke with told me I was NOT a school official mandated reporter. After I gave him a argument and all the information I proceded to the transportation office and tendered my resignation.

    CPS absolutely RUINS LIVES! And Families! They need to be reformed and those workers need higher credentials and better training in detective work! If kids are truly being abused and neglected then it should be treated like a criminal act.. with that being said.. CPS has way too much power for the small training they get… a lot of workers are unprofessional and will make your life hard if they simply don’t like you.. MY ADVICE? call the cops if you know a child is being abused and let them make the call.. never call that Nazi no nothing CPS for anything.. EVER

    I enjoy your videos. I respect your motto to treat people with respect, and to give them a second chance when possible. I would only add: most states have "reporting" laws, meaning that if you suspect that kids are being neglected, you must report that to officials. If you don't, you can be held criminally liable. By posting this video online, you are basically admitting that you suspect something, but that you are choosing to look the other way. For your own sake, as well as for the sake of the inhabitants of the shack, I would let the authorities know about your thoughts. Just saying . . .

    Ok so the dad on the phone was right, you really wouldn’t do anything to him. Here’s a few facts. There’s a shower toilet on the porch for the family of 11. There’s no plumbing or water pipes under the shed. No septic. A water hose through a window is not a bath, no kitchen or bedrooms is abuse, and parents breeding more children in front of minors is sexual abuse. 11 people in one room is also abuse. No washer or dryer= no clean clothes Also who’s paying for all the diapers w/3-4 babies in diapers they clearly can’t afford or formula? Uhm Baby food? That’s a lot of breast feeding?! Hot water from where? How is anything sterile? It gets below 0 there. How are they warm? Space heaters and extension cords? Pulling 20Xs the amps into that tiny box or using PROPANE with shed windows and no insulation or flooring or roofing? Please explain how these kids, are NOT IN DANGER? Ohhh wait but theyrrrr LOVEEDDDD RIGHHTTTT FOR THAT $20000K!!!!!

    In my State CT, they would have the swat team out there. It's illegal to have kids and adults living in sub standard buildings. They adults would be jailed and the sheds condemned.

      I am in CT too, I think they allow these things in poorer areas, I am from NC and I think it’s tolerated more. I do believe less of that is here (CT) because it’s more strict on this type of thing and also, taxes are higher. The south has much much lower taxes and more poor people. Just my option and what I’ve seen.

    CPS does not help.children and would most likely separate these kids. If the mother was doing everything to keep her family as a unit it would be traumatic to separate them.
