NOT SO MUCH about what they can do on the spot. If you are truly great as a beat maker, you should be able to compose something that most people in the room would like, on the spot. THAT is a true battle. This video is just about "who made the best beat from whenever in the past". Mind you, those beats could be anybody's..

Most of these beats are dope, but man, almost all of them have the same type sound. Idk if there were guidelines to follow for this competition but all of the beats followed the same formula; 4-bar chord progression on repeat with stock sound effects scattered, drums come in, then some electronic synth arp plays, etc.
+Broseph Stalin rap is really generic at times.. producers tend to copy the mainstream sound at the time. thats why when a break through producer comes sounding different its special.
+Broseph Stalin still its pretty difficult producing a good trap record.. Making house music is a lot easier in my opinion

Yeah, these contestants are pretty much part of that over-saturation. I mean, it's a good sound, but doesn't stand out at all. I think it's possible to still stay with in the Atlanta trap style but switch up a bit too. Stoked to hear that when some more producers can come through with something like that.
