Slab City's East Jesus Not Waiting for Bulldozers to Arrive

- In the middle of the desert, a few hundred people live without electricity or running water in a squatter community called Slab City. Yesterday, we brought you a story of the land dispute threatening the Slabbers’ way of life. On the same far-flung patch of desert, a community of artists is fighting to keep their land - and their art. When I was 16 me and my friend made a small outer space city out of trash hot glued together. It was awesome!! When I heard about this place I thought "wow... perfect, people just like me". Selling my home to full time RV, but in reading the "rules" for East Jesus and the views of some of its inhabitants and watching videos... most of these people seem like strung out meth addicts or people that ate the bad acid at dead shows. Their site they post their rules on is filled with threats of murdering visitors and hating children. These people are not the future and seem just to be a bunch of people fucked up on drugs. Was hoping to swing through and provide a huge cook out community style until learning what I've learned. I'd imagine many of the people here need to be looked into.
I visited. I had a friendly experience (non smoker giving bottled water presents), but there are some real crazies there. That seems to be why they write severe rules, but I had no problem. I locked up my car and camper. I had breakfast and coffee there and met Builder Bob and his wife (they enjoyed their water). There are some weirdos wandering around at night, and that is why you must lock everything.
May god bless...Slab City's, East Jesus area... only dear god in heaven... truly know, they are going to need all the blessings that they can get...and then some, only if they're lucky !!!
Yea I lived in that spot for 10 years and now it is a giant trash pit. Trash is just that, no one makes it pretty. You took away others freedom.

yes, maybe 4 miles... plus there are people with phones. I believe nilands fire department is bankrupt. they closed the station down the road in 2012. not sure where it is located now.

why did the fire truck show up? there seems to be some conflict between the residents out there if they are calling the cops and fire trucks on each other.

+rapskallion People see bon fires and call them in, thinking it might be something serious. My Dept. get's that a lot. I'm sure the local FD really enjoys wasting their time and limited resources rolling out to the Slabs.

The video is a good time until the irresponsible "artists" burned the car requiring the FD to respond. The great thing about the Slabs of course is they pay no taxes to support the local FD, but still regularly require their services. I've seen three other videos from the Slabs and EJ That they had to use their limited resources on. "Artists keep Slab city alive' by Cornelius VanGo is a good video. Sad for Airracket though, he took a big loss that could have been prevented.
Why did Niland fire even come out. It wasn’t an out of control fire and they’re not responsible for the slabbers
@@Kayaz48 I'm sure someone saw the fire from a distance and called it in thinking it was something not under control. Known as a "good intent call" someone calls in smoke or fire, later to be found non-emergent. Happens frequently.

I am in negotiations to buy 50 acres of this property, it will be 2- 20 acre parcels and 1-10 acre parcel, I will be getting the salvation mountain (which will be torn down) and the area where "the range" is (which will be torn down. The parcels are situated in a manner where it will be nearly impossible for people to enter the property without my permission. I will then charge a toll to cross my property, probably about 10 dollars per person, per crossing...eventually I will own the whole 400 acres, there are environmental concerns that the state must address first. I can't wait to kick these people out.
