#60cyclehum #guitar #guitars #shameflute #cyclone #squier #fender - Hudba
The thumbnail for this video should come standard on all shell pink guitars.
I didn’t even realize till now 😂😭
Man, Fender and Squier are really knocking it out with these cheaper guitars. Got the Duo Sonic, the Lead 2 & 3, the Cyclone is back, the Super Sonic is back again.
Squires are bucking that nomenclature as cheapy guitars.
I've had great luck with the CV series...just ordered a butterscotch Esquire...have to wait for Santa, though.
I have a shell pink Telecaster, too...rock n' roll!
Only weakness is they are constantly raising their prices.
1950s bathroom tile color on the money.
Oh my god you're right!!!
Funny you say that... My '50s style bathroom inspired one of my guitar builds and I couldn't be happier, haha. Love those vintage color schemes!
Too bad they never released the Cyclone in antigua
I think this the most unsettling in Cronenberg way Thumbnail I have ever seen... I think it is a compliment... I think...
Kinda reminds me of Thurston Moore’s three pickup Mustang.
that's what i thought too!
Totally. I wanna get one refinish it in white and out a blue pick guard on it!
Pre-ordered mine from Sweetwater and it hasn't shipped yet, hopefully this means it'll come my way soon!! Very glad to see that I made a good choice, I think I may end up dropping a hot rail in the bridge and going to town. 🤘🤘🤘
I had such high hopes for this guitar and they were far exceeded. I need one.
Fantastic that you have the guitar for 10 minutes and your already thinking of ways to change it 🤣.
Always enjoy your channel
That thumbnail had me rollin'🤣 🚀
When you accidentally hit the "hard days night" chord.
Thats was my first thought too 😆 😆
I absolutely love this guitar!! I’ll definitely have to check one out!! It’s got all the surf and twangy tones that I love.
I love the sound of those pickups.
Sounds very good. It's got the Fender sparkle but it's it's got that jazzy warmth too. And my favorite , the Fender slap twang...
Thanks for the review! Just ordered mine in blue cannot wait to get it :)
I haven't finished watching this video yet, but i hope the guitar is good. Ever since seeing the advert for this beauty it's been my dream guitar.
This guitar could be a nice Gilmour on a budget .
Your comment was the final key in my decision to buy this guitar, thank you
Did anyone else start singing its been a hard days night when he first kicked the verb n delay? 😆 cool guitar. Ive been loving the paranormal series.
If, and only if, you decide to do something with the paint scheme, I suggest going with the thumbnail. Keep the colour, just put your face on it. It will be EPIC!
“That needs reverb and delay”. Love it
when i noticed your face on the guitar on the thumbnail it startled me
That was hilarious
I really like the outro playing . Very nice .
I'm shocked how good that guitar looks, especially the pickguard and the indian laurel fretboard
Love the review on this guitar! Got my cyclone not long ago!
I have a quick tip for you for keeping the whammy bar in place!
I think the guitar originally is shipped with a spring that goes inside the thread.
If you lose the spring; a quick hack;
You can take apart an old Bic lighter, inside are 2 springs. The bigger spring is perfect for keeping the whammy bar tension in place when tightening!
Hope that helps!
Love the videos,
Cheers from Montreal
Awesome video, very thorough and really talked about all the aspects of the guitar which a lot of people don't always do. For the money you can't beat one of these.. I tried a used one out at the local guitar store in Daphne Blue. I always liked some of the more obscure Fenders and this one caught my eye. And what's not to like? 24 & 3/4" scale length neck with comfortable C shape, 3 pickups w/3 controls similar to a Jag but are easier to use, Strat style Trem etc. I tried it out and ending up buying it! BTW nice playing and sound, this guitar sounded very good in clean mode and surprisingly beefy with distortion wow! 👍
Looks like Squier hit a home run with this one - put together the best features of three models, and the result is COOOOOL.
Thanks. Love your stuff!
this guitar sounds and looks like the perfect fit for me, thanks for the demo!!
Great review!!! I never realised how much better the guitar would sound by loosing the trem springs. I agree it almost has a out of phase like Mustang sound in some settings, the linget scale makes it fuller. Luv the shirt...you are a folking excellent dude!!!
Great video!!! As always.
I really feel like I get to know the guitars you showcase. Your videos feel more like hanging out in a guitar shop than any others I’ve seen. Subbed! Cheers.
This has to be the most honest and genuine guitar review I have seen in sometime. Thank you for sharing your thoughts and for not trying to sell the product. One question: Did the guitar have any fret over-hang as some new guitars have? Not a huge deal breaker, just something I'd like to be aware of. Thanks again for the video.
No hang over.
I just bought a cyclone with a single coil and humbucker in surf green. I can’t stop staring at it.
That thumbnail will be visiting me in my nightmares.
Ey, great video! I just ordered mine... thanks for the explanation.
Im looking for a jazzmaster and now because of you I'm in tilt again, great video simple and funny
I always like shiny new guitars no matter what they are. 🎸
Man, that is a freakin' versatile sounding guitar! I'm super impressed! 😯
If looks and sounds very cool! I would dig one with a painted headstock too!
The Mustang form factor and Brian May-esque switching setup makes the Cyclone look like a TON of fun. I'm considering trading in one of my Fenders for one.
Nice Chops buddy ! Dig your videos, great sense of humor !!!
Wow. I'm hearing Dick Dale and His Deltones. I'm hearing Pink Floyd, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Dire Straits, John Mayer, Sublime... The Munsters... all at the flick of a switch or two. Most versatile guitar I've heard in awhile.
Hmm... (Thievishly looks at bank account.)
I know! Dude, I'm hearing all of what you just said. I have to wait until November to get mine.
I was surprised how good a guitar it sounded like too definitely a vibe
I get stupid looks cause I actually play these at metal gigs lmao. I got 2 of them!
Love that surf sound!
That is my style. Love it.
Although I can’t do your awesome cowboy surf style.
A worthy grunge machine...looks cool and sounds righteous !! It has a nice surf thing going on as well.
That #2 position has a very "Sweet Home Alabama" vibe. I dig it.
I had just talked myself out of buying this guitar. ThenI saw this video. Thanks! ;)
It's a lot less pink and a lot more raw ham than I thought.
Wow!!! It looks soooooooooo pretty!
Thanks for the review on the guitar man! What effects pedal/ pedals are you using in this video??
the Best thumbnail ever!
Ryan the guitar is awesome AF, i think you can get prewired plates like you described on ebay, besides that all white hardware and mabey cream witch hat knobs would look slick , complementary creme/white racing stripe?
I bought this guitar two months ago. I had this one and an Affinity at home. I had been trying the Affinity for three days, then the Paranormal came. I struck a chord in the same setup as before and I knew I had to have it! It sounded so sweet, sparkly-rich. I already had been digging its exterior, but the rest of trying it out was just double-checking on what I already knew - it sounds great.
It is not so tuning-stable, especially on the G string. And the tuner action is pretty uneven. On high E I always fear I would break the string because you can give it half a turn with lots of resistance and it doesn't change tone at all, and then suddenly it increases pitch. The intonation was within a cent or two, I was really impressed. The Affinity shipped about 20 cents off across the board for comparison. I don't like the factory strings, too thick and hard for my taste. I think the little switches are great, you can do a bit of Tom Morello by switching all off, then bringing one on-and-off. But they'd probably need replacing soon if you do that. When I use the tremolo arm it goes about 15-20 cent out of tune instantly, and I'm not at setting that up yet.
I get a lot of hum when going for the bridge pickup only, and it crackles when I tune the E string - I was worried about that until I noticed this phenomenon only exists when touching the tuner. Could this be a grounding issue? No idea, blind guessing.
I bought it for 333€, which might be 360$. It's absolutely worth the money, it sounds great, it plays decent, and I love it.
You're probably right about the grounding issue which I'd assume would be an easy fix? In the video you can hear a good bit of humming coming from the guitar. Bridge pickups usually tend to hum a bit but as long as it isn't humming while off - should be fine.
I just bought one today :) I love this guitar!
You just made me order one, in candy red thou, man i can't wait
I audibly laughed at the thumbnail, 10/10 premium graphic design
oh boy, the thumbnail made me subscribe😱!!!!
Sounds nice & like the pink !!
The lead of my favorite J-Rock band, The Pillows, plays a cyclone, and watching this made me real how much of their sound comes from that.
Love that shirt!
Love the pickguard, like a mix of a Mustang and Jag
lol- that pic of your face on the guitar made me laugh, thanks
Own the pink - Tavo Vega calls it Man-Salmon! Rarr! Fun demo as always - I'd get either the blue or pink depending on the best deal out there.
Tavo makes incredible stuff
I have one in Tomatoes soup red (made with milk not water) in other words a creamy red. Anyway this guitar, set up, no upgrades ( grow up) is remarkable !!! Punches like a Heavyweight Naoya Inoue!!!
Mmm, creamy tomato soup and a grilled cheese. Bringing me back to my childhood. LOL
I'm about to but a Shell Pink Cyclone on eBay. Can't wait!
They should make that your signature model cause it is definitely you! 😎👍
You are always the first to have reviews on the interesting new guitars that come out, thank you! And love your playing. How is the weight on this? Like a mustang, maybe ~7.5 lbs?
i havent weighed it but its not a light weight duo sonic sort of thing. probably lighter than a strat but not by a lot.
@@60CycleHumcast Got it, thank you!
Can’t wait for you to review the Cabronita thinline!!! And you know you just have to do the Fiesta Red.
Yeah. I want the red.
60 Cycle Hum I preordered it when it was announced I’m so inpatient to get it!!
Love this man!
I ordered one 6/5 from one of your affiliated retailers. The other retailer you mention has them in stock ready to ship but, I’m hoping to get one from my usual sales rep.
You just made me consider going “ full tone” and changing my order. This guitar sounds like a good Strat in your demo. Nicely done. 👍🏻👍🏻
Btw, I’m getting the Cobain blue color.
Scott 3402 I've got the Blue one and it is such a gorgeous Guitar
@@richardcarle786 I got mine September. I agree. It looks great. It plays nice. (The neck feels great.) The bridge is kinda cheap (but it works) and I put some Fender 57/62 pickups in it and it sounds spectacular. Recommended upgrade.
I actually spent some time and put all the jag controls/pickups (including rhythm circuit) in my squier hss strat! It turned out pretty close to the original cyclone... only with 2 jag pickups and the 1 middle strat. I didn’t know the original cyclone had 3 jag pickups with the same switches as the jag.. I just put them on mine because I wanted to be able to get bridge + neck tone and so the 5 way switch had to come out... and guess what took its exact place after a little grinding out... the pots from the rhythm circuit. Then I added a phase switch where the end pot would normally be on a strat.
Chord at 5:01 is genuinely good
You make the guitar look peach!😆
I wish I didn't find out this exists, because now I want one.
If you want to mod the switches, you could put a similar Bass VI plate with 4 switches... extra selector switch
bitchin' glad it doesn't appear to have the issues the super sonic has. I've just been learning on an old hand me down but seeing an affordable option like this come up makes me think it's time to invest! thanks for the review ! and you're right! it is pretty close to you haha.
what issues does the super sonic have? i was actually considering getting one before seeing this video
You shoulda wore a pink shirt too. Next time.
I can’t tell where you’re arm ends and the guitar starts, lol. In all seriousness though. This guitar sounds way better than I thought it would
I just got one at christmas and I love it
Get a chorus pedal on it tho it just makes it a 10
@@OscarTaylor4536 Are the pickups noisy?
@@chrisgreene7075 no
Hearing the '4' position makes me think I might want to swap my Mex Strat for this!
I’m thinking about getting one of these and putting jaguar pickups in
Thanks, enjoyed your video review. Oh yeah, gotta have plumber's tape on the wiggle stick and a mixture of vaseline & powdered graphite or plain old chapstick on the nut.
Have a few questions:
1. It's hard to tell but is the body full thickness 1 3/4" or the thinner 1 5/8"?
2. In your opinion which would be better for surf guitar this one or the strat I've been using?
3. Does the shorter scale length give a darker tone and is it easier to bend and fret the strings compared to the standard strat scale length?
4. How does this slim c neck compare to the modern c neck; the modern c on my MIA strat is chunkier for my short fingers as compared to the thinner neck on my '89 MIK strat.
Thanks in advance.
That thumbnail, think you need to talk to Squire about your new Signature Guitar :)
Just ordered this as my first guitar
I have been waiting for Ryan to get this guitar!!! I hope they send him a Shawn Mendes. PLEASE
Nice review. I've been thinking of getting a Squier Mustang, but now I may consider getting the Cyclone instead. Have you tried comparing the Cyclone to a Mustang?
That Cyclone has a heavy Weezer vibe to it. Very nice guitar there, Ryan. I must say, however, it was hard to make you out next to that guitar. Lol! I'm kidding. No, you look great with the Squier Cyclone.
Wow! That's crazy. You were holding in front of you when I looked up y
I thought you had took off your shirt to flex. I thought him thats weird. You were just holding pinky in front of you. I can't believe right out of the box perfectly in tune. I like really cranking on the truss rod only bad thing is if you break a string you've suddenly got a whole pile of maple tooth picks. I also like my action on my guitars low. Where you get maximum fret buzz. I know when I've got em low enough. My cat slinky. She limbo's under the strings. When they are low enough she can't.
What pedal are you using for reverb? Sounds great!
Guitar sounds great, are you still playing it? What was the drive pedal you were using?
Ordered one from my local shop 3 weeks ago
I'm definitely getting one, just gonna hardtail the trem.
New to your channel. What amp is that?!? It sounds like exactly the tone I need in my life
Hello Ryan,
Did I plan on trying the Grote GT 150 Telecaster Slimline with the F hole? 😁
I wish this was my first guitar, but I bought a Squier a year before the Paranormal and Starcaster series was announced by Squier :c
Nice outro playing.
For fuzz sakss is an amazing idea for a shirt lol but seriously I've only picked up a couple Squiers in the last 5 years or so I wouldn't gig with i currently gig with a Squier jazzmaster the j mascis model a jag and a thin line tele love all of them
I got the squier supersonic after watching your video and I love it. I would love to see how you go about setting it up where it will stay in tune better. And after watching this video I just might have to go out and buy this one. Keep up the great work Ryan
Cool T-Shirt Ryan ! Where can we buy one ?
How do you like the strat style trem vs the jazzmaster style trem? Dig the guitar, super interested, but afraid of strat trems.
If you're going to do series/ parallel switching, please put some tri-sonic pickups in it! You would have the world's first Pink Special!
I WANT THIS GUITAR SO BAD
LETS GET IT, 2022.
