  • 2021 Hyundai Elantra review by The Straight Pipes. The Hyundai Elantra is pumping out 147hp and 132 lb-ft tq from a 2L 4 Cyl Engine. Correction on the price stated in the video, we were actually driving the Ultimate Tech, which is $28,299 CAD. Would you take it over a Honda Civic, VW Golf, Kia Forte, Toyota Corolla, Mazda 3?

First of all, we owed a 2002 Elantra that we finally got rid of at 170,000 miles and only got rid of it because we were ready to upgrade. But since that time we’ve owned 2 Santa Fe’s and a Sonata and NO ENGINE PROBLEMS AT ALL!! So not sure what some of you are talking about?
Also, the only recalls on the 2021 Elantra have ZERO to do with engines, there have only been 2 and both have to do with the seat and seat belt. So again, not sure what some of you are talking about?
Any mechanical issues we have run into? Hyundai has always stood behind their unbelievable, incomparable warranty for us. Not a penny out of our pockets, and no lingering, unaddressed problems afterwards. We always leave the Hyundai dealership satisfied customers! ♥️
Don’t know why Hyundai haters come to hate-watch these videos, it’s pathetic really 😂
We just bought the 2021 Elantra SEL for our teenage daughter and couldn’t be happier! Peace of mind for her father and I, knowing she’s in a safe & reliable vehicle!

I just had the SEL model as a loaner car. I was impressed. The low power numbers don't exactly translate to real world feel. It feels very responsive and peppy while still getting 40 mpg on the highway easily and 30+ in town. The handling is really good especially for a compact economy car. The build quality inside the car was really good, the back seat room was as much as a mid size sedan and even the trunk was big. For around $20k new with a 100k mile warranty this is a really awesome car! I'll definitely consider one as my next car in a few years when they are $12k with 50k miles.

I know many people disagree with me, but I'm not a huge fan of the current generation Elantra and Sonata designs. I think it's the front end, the grill is a very strange shape and the headlights look kind of weird. I like every other angle though, especially the rear. The interior is really attractive for this segment as well.

You guys should talk about some of the features that are available in the cars in the US that are not available in Canada like the digital key, dynamic voice recognition, remote start heated seats, or the ability to control the car through bluelink with google home. Feel like its important to mention since during the lead up they touted those features alot but removed them here and you guys are a Canadian channel. Also the car is 25K without those 10.25 screens. To get the both of the 10.25 screens, the interior ambient lighting, LED headlights, power driver seats, and highway driving assist its an additional 2700 making this closer to 28K. No rear AC vents in a 28K car. Also only apple carplay is widescreen in the car right now, android auto is locked to 8 inches with an ugly black box taking up the rest of the screen you cant do anything with. You guys also didn't mention the Bose sound system which is also nice.
