Is The Cricket Dream 5G Worth Buying In 2022?

  • No. This video was recorded in January of this year. I had this phone for about 3 months. And it was not worth it at all. Yes, it is a free phone at Cricket (minus paying for service) but it’s not worth it. Something like a Samsung Galaxy A02s or A03s would be WAY better. The phone is super laggy and only does low-band 5G.
Also fun fact. This phone has 3 different names. 😂
Cricket Dream 5G - Cricket Wireless
    AT&T Radiant Max 5G - AT&T Prepaid
    AT&T Fusion 5G - AT&T Postpaid

I've had it for almost 7 months and it actually handles a lot of games well with no lag at all. It is a year and a half old since it was bought and still plays games fine to this day. Just my opinion

That’s good to hear and I hope it keeps working out for you. I think a lot of budget phones have a lot of potential. It’s just all the big tech reviewers don’t cover them or bash them cause they use like an S23 Ultra. Plus, I think if carriers and manufacturers didn’t add so much bloatware that they could do even more and be more impressive. But I’m sure they intentionally do that to upsell.

I ported my number over and got it for free then had to buy a $60 month card..well worth $60 I'm sure. Ty can't wait for mine to arrive in 2 days I'll update

Well hey I hope you like it and it works out for you. I mean I think for free and paying for a month of service it’s not bad at all. And I mean if you don’t like it you can always port out. Go to another prepaid company that has free phones. I hope you don’t have to switch a ton because I know it’s a hassle and you don’t want to lose your number.

I’m sorry to hear that. I would get a cheap Samsung like the a02s or a03s. Cause I know a lot of times they’re running good deals on those cheap Samsung phones. And I think it’s a way better option than the Cricket Dream for 2023. So, if you got the money and could get a deal on it, I’d look into that.

I hope the video helped. I sold the phone honestly. Not that the device was bad. Just wasn't for me and I wasn't using it hardly. Plus, I think there's now better Android 5G phones on the cheap. It's making it a little harder to justify. But, I think if you get it for free porting your number in. Totally worth it.

Dang. $150 is a lot. You might want to look into that and have customer care tell you why you got charged that. I’m sure they’ll come up with some reason. That just don’t seem right though.

Short answer: NO which i 💯 agree. They couldnt pay me to use this garbage instead of my perfectly capable Galaxy Note 8 that they keep blacklisting from their network due to "incompatibility issues". Yet they expect me to use this garbage device to read and run my business, which i rely on my phone camera to run. Im switching to mint mobile after 3 days of Cricket

I had a Note 8 for a while but I had to return it to the eBay seller cause it messed up. That was honestly one of the best Android phones I’ve ever used. If it just had a little better battery. And they’re reasonable priced. Not like the Note 9 which I think sells for more than what it’s worth.

@@SWOhioSpeedtesting I'm still using my Note 8 for the camera for my listings. The Cricket Dream 5G using the iOS launcher by luutinh makes the phone feel at least a little better but nothing will ever make the screen quality get any better 😆 Thanks for the quick reply brother!

This is true. But, you could also make the argument it’s $60 since that’s the plan you have to get. And you gotta port-in. That’s a good point tho.
