- Back in Copenhagen for our final vlog before we head to Sweden. :( In this family travel vlog we take you on a Copenhagen food tour to try some of the must-eat foods in Denmark. The food in Copenhagen is FANTASTIC!

You guys really create amazing memories with your kids, even if they want remember it, these things you are doing for them is the best childhood and foundation for the rest of their lives, when i was 3 my parents traveled with me around the world Australia, new Zealand, when i was a little older Europe and 12 years old island and faro islands we also always had a house in Sweden for skiing in the winter. This is some of the memories from my childhood that really formed me, learning to know different cultures came natural and it something I really am grateful for, it was hard tho sometimes if i made friends and then we had to leave,but we also stayed a long time in each country, overall I'm so grateful to them, you are really giving your children a gift!
It's so nice to hear this perspective from someone who did this as a child, so thank you for sharing! We are trying to find the balance of giving our children a stable and consistent home, while also exposing them to the wonders and cultures of the world. I think that balance will evolve as our family does!

Nyhavn is a harbor district in Copenhagen, which is one of the city's most visited tourist destinations. The harbor was excavated from 1671 to 1673. The "Nyhavnskanalen" was inaugurated by Christian V in the 1670s, but today it is simply called Nyhavn.

Just discovered this channel yesterday and you guys do amazing travel videos. Love the family perspective of it! I spent a lot of my childhood summers in Denmark (both on Jylland and Sjælland) and I can really testify to the all around family/child friendly vibe of the country. It's pretty telling that they use the word "Fælles" ('together') for describing something that is both for grown-ups and children.
Thank you for your kind words! What an amazing childhood that must have been. We kept saying how Denmark is just such a wonderful place to be a child!
As a Jutlander, I would recommend, that you should try to go to e.g. Aarhus, the second-largest city in Denmark. Places there like the deergarden, Tivoli Friheden and Den Gamle By are also interesting for kids. To get the complete picture of Denmark, don't forget the West Coast beaches, the lakes around Silkeborg or go to an island by ferry, such as Tunø, Ærø, Fanø or Samsø (yes, they often end in ø = island). Or Bornholm in the Baltic, that is based on rocks, unlike rest of our country. Many believe, that seeing Copenhagen is seeing Denmark, but that is just like getting half of the story. We also have a number of "Summerlands", amusement parks, that especially somewhat older children may like - e.g. Faarup Sommerland, Djurs Sommerland or BonBon Land. And of course, Legoland in Billund, which is the very home of the LEGO brick.
I second Samsø. Easy to get to, with a good enough size that you aren't going to see everything in just a day's time. Plus it has Denmark possibly most kid friendly beach in Sælvigsbugten.
I love seeing my town through the eyes of adventurous tourists! And I hope you tried the green burger at Gasoline. IMO better than the ground beef burger 😍

The "Smørebrød" yoy eat was frikadeller= danish meatballs. And can be made in outnumber off variation.

@@taylorandanna We also make a variant made from fish instead of pig. Fish meatballs. Remoulade is often put on it.
You can get completely organic hotdogs, if you find one of the few carts by DØP. There is often one by The Round Tower.
Since you are now moving on to Sweden, DØP will just have to wait until you move here to live or at least visit again.
AMAZING! Taylor is still raving about how everything is organic there.

Next time you visit Copenhagen, you should try Rosenborg Castle. I noticed you were in the park, but you should have gone inside the castle (entrance fee). Every womans dream is in there: The Crown jewels. Yes, the Queen wears them at special occasions.
Watch out for the Swedish trolls, they are evil. Swedish folklore.

It's ok if you spill a little when eating a roasted danish hotdog, they are not mean for travelling =) Try a french hotdog, which isn't french at all lol. It's more mobile however.

just fyi, our daily smørrebrød is not that crazy :) it is a fairly simply flat open sandwich, with what got your fancy.
Love the stick handle, clever kid :) thx 4 the video.. And as other commenters mentioned you should try the Street food market at "Reffen" just dont let your kids play at the skatepark there, the skaters hate that.. :)

The cinnamon buns are great, but you should also try the spandauer with cream or jam. I think they are better (especially the ones with cream) than the cinnamon buns.
I will eat absolutely any baked good made in Denmark without hesitation!

Odense is the hometown of Hans Christian Andersen and there are a ton of stuff to do and see about him and his writing. I also recommend doing Legoland ind Billund and don't forget to spend a day visiting the Lego House, an amazing building dedicated to playing with Lego in all its shapes, it's a blast for all ages and it's won a ton of prizes internationally.

I have two things to comment on! First of all, I would like to commend you for reviewing the capital. But remember to use your head and protect it with a bicycle helmet. The children are easy to protect, but we adults should do the same.

Did you notice the woman changing clothes after a swim? Most people here find that completely fine to do in public. Some times you would also see advirtisements for breast enlargment (a picture of a pair of breasts) on public busses.
This might be wrong and people are welcome to correct me, but let's say i drive my bike, and i don't stop for a red light. If a car hits me, the car is at fault, since it's the larger vehicle, even though i made a wrong choice. So as you said in the start of the video, bikes do kinda comes first haha. Same thing with pedestrian vs. bike, the bike is at fault for hitting the jaywalker. But this might be a misconception on my part.
If you run through a red light, you're at fault. If you don't play by the rules, you will get hurt or die in wich case it really doesn't matter whos fault it is. The danish way is: "Use your brain!"
