Masta Ace's "Ghetto Like" single led to a misunderstanding with an underground emcee named Boogieman, who released a somewhat similar single titled "Ghetto Love" not long before. He thought that Ace was "biting" his track and released a diss song toward Ace titled "Just You Wait". Ace responded to Boogieman on the diss track "Acknowledge", which also dissed The High & Mighty over a misunderstanding. The trading of records led to a rap battle between the two at a Lyricist Lounge event.
beat me to it! Much respect!
What you just listened to was arguably one of the greatest diss tracks of all time, and trust me, I’ve heard them all!
WOW your the man! never seen reactors react to Masta Ace.....certified legend, the whole Disposable Arts album is amazing.
This is where Em got his flow. Such an underrated album. Pump it like this is where Em paid homage!
Definitely….. Looks like a hijacking to me.
@@skillz9549 Exactly what I was thinking. Only difference is I could actually listen to Masta Ace lol.
Em Dropped a video message on Aces 50th bday at his party..paying homage to the Masta! Dope party..Memories
Em flowed like that before Ace. And he wrote some of his lyrics.
@@skillz9549 Em gave Masta Ace props in grammy nomination, he named all his inspirations and left
Masta ace is a lyric god. This was about the rap group The High & the Mighty. Ended their careers
The legendary Juice Crew
Heres 5 masta ace songs for you
Brooklyn masala
Big city (great song to curse around on the highway to)
Hold you
No regrets
Trouble
There’s a reason you’ve never heard of this cat. Ace murdered his career before it started. Ace is one of my all time fav MCs. If you dig concept albums, give him a listen.
Masta Ace - "Good Ole Love"
I’d suggest A Long Hot Summer as an album reaction. Ace is dope.
Disposable Arts first.
@@cameleyez That could go either way really since DA came first but ALHS is the prequel to the story
One of my favorite albums of all time. Long Hot Summer is infinitely better than DA.
I literally just wrote this.
@@VeegovonDOOM haha that’s bold, love both but prefer DA
This track was about an underground rapper named Boogieman that beat Masta Ace at a freestyle battle at a Lyricist Lounge event in New York. The first verse was about a Hip-Hop group called The High & Mighty that were signed to Rawkus Records in the early 2000's. The made some comments about Ace and Ace responded on this track in the first verse. The 2nd verse he was dissing Boogieman
The High and A Mighty part was a misunderstanding. It wasn't even them who said anything. Cage was performing a set before theirs. He had a line in the song "Suicidal failure". He said "pumping Masta Ace, I walked into a Jewish Slaughterhouse". Slaughterhouse was of course Ace's second studio album. One of Ace's people's heard the line and went and told Ace about it. Since A high and A mighty were headliner's. He thought they said something about him. Of course they didn't and it wasn't even a diss to begin with. Pretty sure Cage was showing homage and they got caught in the cross hair's
He beat Masta at a freestyle battle with clear writtens. Masta Ace is still relevant. Boogieman, not at all. Lol.
@@jermainezinnerman7450they were big fans of him, that's why this misunderstanding is even more hillarious. 😂 There is documentation dvd in the re-release CD Box of "Disposable Arts", pretty good.
Masta ace, cool g rap, big daddy kane, biz, roxanne shanta legends
I luv this reaction.... I just shared this with with Ace's wife.... she's like my sis.
haha great diss track. He was dissing The High & Mighty from Philly. Apparently Masta Ace was told that The High & Mighty called him out at one of their shows but that was heavily disputed and likely never happened. The beef was ended but not until after this song dropped. Good video!
Yeah it was Cage who mentioned Ace's name. But it wasn't a diss. He said "pumping Masta Ace I walked into a Jewish Slaughterhouse". That's from Cages song "Suicidal Failure"
Masta Ace - Da Grind 💰💰💰👏
U gotta listen to Come Clean - Jeru the Damaja
XFL rappers are the "High and the Mighty" a group out Philly and they where on Ruckus records
There also a battle rap video of Masta Ace vs boogieman
Masta Ace-Beautiful, right up your alley
Thanks a lot my man for reacting to Ace. Finally 😁😁
His catalogue is long and in my opinion definitely worth checking out. From his early beginnings with Taking a look around up to Breukelen Story.
My favourites are A long hot summer and Disposable Arts. However Falling Season and Arts and Entertainment with Edo G are amazing as well. His hits u missed releases are top notch as well in my opinion. U see he’s definitely one of my favs. 😁
Keep up the great work you’re doing.
High and Mighty are a White rap/DJ duo from Rawkus Records. Listen to "Soundbombing 2", Track 3.
He was talking about a group called High and Mighty the other verse was about Boogieman from the duo Group Home
Da Grind
Good Ol Love
Progression
Unfriendly Game
Alphabet Soup
Beautiful
The Ways
Seasons (with Cunninlynguists)
He’s also got a song with Eminem and Mad Rapper I believe can’t remember what it’s called but I remember the sample for it was the theme from Soul Caliber.
He's talking to the group "the high and mighty" from Rawkus Records the Lyricist Lounge series....
you should review the song "Beautiful", Long Hot Summer is probably his best album.
I know you only did one song, but I still gotta recommend you react to Masta Ace album A Long Hot Summer. It's a classic in my book, with its own sound. Pretty sure you'll fuck with it.
Too many Masta Ace and eMC tracks and collabs to list.
He's in my top 10. I'll be here for anything you react to.
Great storyteller, great concepts with a consummate monotone delivery that makes it sound easy.
and longevity !
gotta also love Ace & Marco Polo
it just geled on "Nostalgia"
My all time greatest diss track, Masta ace a legend, classic albums.
I've never heard this... the old stuff from master ace inc. is what I know... the older stuff.
He may be dissing The Great MC SHAN from QueensBridge.. one of the early Legends on Cold Chillin Records.. the Juice Crew…
The Juice Crew was the 1st Big Crew in Hip Hop… Marley Marl, Mc Shan, Roxanne Shante, Kool G Rap, Biz Markie, Big Daddy Kane, Grand Daddy IU, Tragedy Khadafi, Cool V and a few I’m forgetting..
Masta Ace is RIDICULOUSLY nice!
Masta ace album "long hot summer" would be a chill album for you to react to.
The funny thing is High n Mighty named Ace in a positive way but Ace took it the wrong way.
Perfect disstrack! Glad you reacting to Masta Ace, he's very underrated!
Definitely consider to do whole album reactions to Disposable Arts, A Long Hot Summer ect. I dont think he ever dropped a weak album
Eminem featuring Masta Ace - Hellbound
Do MC SHAN “Da Bridge”….. the Original joint from 1986
Verse 1 was towards High & Mighty 2nd verse towards was Boogieman
Diss is to high and mighty who are actually pretty dope also second verse is about a rapper named boogie man who used to be a back up dancer for masts ace they battled and boogieman beat him
You can clearly hear how much em was influenced by him.
My Brotha! Masta Ace
I forgot all about this one…sheeeeeeeeeesh
1st verse is directed at The High & Mighty and it was actually a misunderstanding. When Cage and The High & Mighty (Smut Peddlers) were performing Cage had a line in his track "Suicidal Failure" that went "So much pcp I changed my name to watermouth, pumpin Masta Ace I walked into a Jewish Slaughterhouse". Slaughterhouse was the name of one of Aces early albums and this was not a diss as they looked up to Ace, but someone told Ace that these white kids dissed him on stage, and that's why that first verse came into existence.
This is exactly the flow Eminem was using in ‘98 and ‘99.
Facts
Ace been rapping like that for years.
exactly, if you imagine his voice with these lyrics your can hear it
@@cameleyez 💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯 history!!!!!!
Ace had this flow since at least early 90’s. Big L had a big influence on Eminem too as well Kool G Rap had.
First verse was about The High and the Mighty, a late 90s/early 2000s white boy duo that had some decent barz, but nothin that was fuckin wit Masta Ace. They had a pretty dope joint on the Rawkus Records Soundbombing 2 classic album. idk who Boogie Man is.
A Classic Diss Track is “The Bitch in You” by Common
Boogie man diss masta ace on a sing called "just you wait" and a misunderstanding the madtat ace thought the high& mighty diss him at a show.
Finally! This is one of the best diss tracks ever! Gotta react to Masta Ace-Music Man and Take A Walk!
"Sitting on chrome" Masta Ace
Master Ace one of the most underrated MCS of all time!! You should do a album review of disposable arts classic or long hot summer! Ace in my top ten frfr
Yo Ahmad!
At 3:04 in the clip, Ace mentions the song "Take it Personal" by Gangstar.
Gangstar was the duo of GURU and DJ Premier. Off their 3rd album "Daily Operation" definitely worth a listen. BTW, GURU stands for gifted unlimited rhymes universal. And at this point, you know about DJ Premier.
Check out Marco Polo and masta ace’s breukelen And nostalgic
Nobody does any reaction to Masta Ace accept this song. He has such a great catalog, it’s frustrating constantly running into this song.
✊🏾✊🏾✊🏾✊🏾🤜🏽🤛🏽💯💯💯💯💯
This is a underground beef with a group called the High and Mighty. Masta Ace is nothin’ to play with. He is in my Top 3 of all time. Check out Born to Roll. Original member of Marley Mal’s Juice Crew. The Symphony. Also of note when Eminem won a Grammy there was only a few names that he spoke of during speech. Yes Masta Ace! Speech was for The Eminem Show.

Dj Quik - ”Dollaz & sense” Mc Eiht Diss
SO I KNOW I'M OFF TOPIC BUT I ALSO KNOW YOU'RE A BIG GHOST FACE FAN. IF YOU'RE FAMILIAR WITH THE JAY Z SONG GIRLS GIRLS THAT BEAT WAS ORIGINALLY MADE FOR GHOSTFACE. SOMEHOW JAY Z GOT A HOLD OF IT AND MADE IT HIS. BUT THERE IS A RECENT FREESTYLE BY GHOSTFACE OVER THE GIRLS GIRLS GIRLS BEAT. YOU CAN FIND IT ON CZcams UNDER"GHOST FACE KILLA FREESTYLE 16 BARS FOR AOL" IT JUST ALWAYS MADE ME THINK WHAT COULD HAVE BEEN IF HE WAS FLOWING THAT HARD FREESTYLING WHAT COULD HE HAVE WRITTEN!
💯🔥
He's dissing The High & Mighty who were signed to Rawkus (Eminem did a track with them too). Not sure who Boogieman is, maybe they're producer

This song was dope and first time I've heard it. I am familiar with masta ace born to roll. That track is a banger
Those Masta Ace Inc albums are some of my favourites. Born to roll is one of the hardest tracks when you're bumping music in your car. The original version Jeep Ass Nigguh is awesome too.
Have you heard Kane & G Rap “Raw” original version??
You gotta do a whole album review for this Album man. It's like watching TV. 🌝
Jurassic5
Nottz is from around here
Rather new, but anyway: Ace and Monch on "Fight Song", which is actually a sick song!

First verse he is dissing "The High N Mighty" and the second verse he was dissing The Boggie Man.

In the first verse Ace was talking about a group called High and Mighty ,some white rappers. The second verse was about Boogie Man who later bodied him in a live battle! The Lil Wayne Lil Wayne was about Lil Wayne but Wayne was on the come up and wasn't that good at that time.
It’s The High and Mighty and Boogieman he’s dissing.
