One thing that you missed (not well explained in the anime) but when Subaru does Shamac and it has that little visual, that is his magical 'gate' breaking, likely meaning that he won't be able to use Shamac again (he thanks his gate for holding out one last time).
Regarding the authority, it is heavily implied from the start of S2 that he got it from Beatlejuice, both Betty and Echidna mention it early on, at the start of the season. Also Subaru renames 'Unseen Hand' to 'Invisible Providence' to mental disassociate it from his bad memories with Beatlejuice.

Wait really? The way I read that scene is that his gate was unlocked so now he can use the power and magic system in this universe more easily than before. Previously, he could get sick from overusing it since he's too little mana. My interpretation for the "thanks" is that he said it for the witch for allowing this to happen (unlocking his potential) as she did say "I allow it" although she could've been referring to other stuff. I swear it made sense to me but maybe this wasn't it😂
Now if that's the case then the question is: why can't he use Shamac anymore? Is it cause he can't use 2 different abilities? Then why Betty can still use Shamac and other type of spells?
@@Accomplish305Its a bit complicated.
The gate is basically a channel that controls the flow of mana into and out of the body. Due to Subaru overusing his gate is broken and pretty much in shambles now, like a tunnel that broke and is now blocked by rocks. This makes it impossible for him to send mana out of his body on his own (which would kill him through mana poisoning btw). But because of [SPOILER FOR SEASON 2]]his contract with Betty which connects her directly to his mana pool by touching eachother she is able to suck the mana out of him allowing both of them to use magic as long as Betty is around. If you are wondering about Invisible Providence that is an Authority which is completely unrelated to magic and therefor not connected to his Gate (it instead using things like the users sanity).
In the OVA, the villagers were calling Emilia the Frozen Witch, she's just embracing the nickname here. All the actual Witches are related to sins so I doubt "Frozen Witch" is literal, probably just an insult due to her likeness to the Witch of Envy.
Witch's daughter could be literal though, gonna have to wait and see about that one.
The week this episode came out, Tappei(author) tweeted Echidna was basically using a racial slur in regards to calling her witches daughter(or the other translation being witch girl)

The light novel always have more loops and stuff cut out, so though this season may seem repeated a lot, it was actually far tougher to read for that reason

Subaru no longer has the qualification to take the trial, so he's physically repelled when he tries to enter the tomb. Even so, he spent all that time in there writing encouraging messages for Emilia, and then went back in to talk to her last episode.

In actuality Frederica's father was a part of a group of bandits that kidnapped her and forced her into their concubine.
Then those bandits got raided by another set of bandits and it seems with Garfiels father it was actually consensual.
Subaru just channeled his inner Mike Tyson through his Naruto Chakra powers so Garfiel could achieve his dream of "floating like a butterfly" by way of being "stung like a bee"

Our Boy Subaru got himself a proper combat ability now, using the authority of Sloth he can knock some sense into Garfield.
Technically not really a combat ability. It takes a gigantic tol on him, is only 1 hand and gigantic recharge between uses, short range, and while much stronger than his real arms, still not insane
Actually, according to QnA its equal to his real arm, so using it is impractical in most cases.
And yes, Garf example isn't correct. On normal conditions even a hundred of consecutive punches from this hand wouldn't even leave a scratch on him. All credits to Puck, who mana-drained Garf through crystal into half-dead state, in which his body couldn't physically maintain any of his overwhelming characteristics. Puck literally turned monster that can outrace bullets and turn likes of Frederica or Rem into bloody cloud with one serious punch into 14 y.o athletic child.
Btw, “Witch of Glaciation” would be a better term than “Frozen Witch”

So when Betelgeuse died the Witch's Sloth factor chose Subaru as its new host as he's remarkably related to the Witch of envy. When subaru drank that Echina tea.... Thats when she kinda activated the witch factor & it started to merge more & more with subaru. But take note that the witch factor takes a lot ....I guess mana/energy ...... So subaru can't use all 10 like Betelguese but can only use one hand.

Its really underwhelming that some things in adaptation didn't get required attention.
