There's no denying that Deadpool is the internet's favorite superhero which makes a lot of sense considering they made him in the first place.

*Correction*
I said the Deadpool video game came out in 2003. It came out in 2013. I misread my own script and didn't catch it until after the video was uploaded.
You definitely need to talk about Freakazoid(Dexter Douglas)Since he A fourth wall breaker and he Internet incarnated and Captain Planet Since he is an echo superhero!
No probs, mistakes happen.
I nearly had a heart attack. I knew it came out a while ago but I didn't think that long ago.
Hoe the internet made deadpool lol?!?
Can you please make a video explaining DC's Doom Patrol?
As someone with a fair share of mental disorders, sarcastic escapism, and even an exceedingly grotesque skin condition, I found Deadpool incredibly relatable. I always loved when he let himself be serious. So the era when he was permanently goofy kinda hurt. I liked imagining it as a nihilistic escape from his world.
Those people who were like: She Thor, blah blah what’s next? Made me groan at how little knowledge they have of the comics.
ikr
Yeah that's the annoying thing about MCU fans they think the handful of superheros the MCU has introduced is all of them and they think they know everything about them even though its basic knowledge that any comic fan would know. Hell even at age 5 i knew who She-Hulk & Spider-Woman were. Anyway I wish the MCU would go more comic booky with its future releases instead of catering towards these brain dead morons that know nothing about what their speaking
@@princessleia2187 exactly.
Haters gonna hate.
She Thor sucks.
Drake: *Makes a simple typo on his title*
Comment section: I'm about to end this man's whole career.
As much as I like your friend's interpretation of Deadpool at 4:02 it's hard to deny that it's his voice work what makes the character sound sarcastic, because the dialogue by itself doesn't manage it. It's like at the start of X-Men Origins, where we see Wade Wilson and despite the fact that no line of his dialogue is anywhere near funny, his delivery makes all he say sound like quips.
Liefeld didn't "create" Deadpool's personality, other, later writers did. At the start, he was a generic mercenary that sort of looked like Spider-Man, but certainly didn't quip, and the excessive amounts of dialogue seen here are pretty normal for every character in those comics.
While your point in the video is true and the internet helped "memefy" Deadpool, credit must be given to other writers like Fabian Nicieza for giving the character the wacky personality he's known for, since Liefeld loves to hog all the credit when all he did was obviously rip-off Deathstroke.
Everybody: talking about the typo
Me, the one making the unoriginal comment: 4:02 that's actually a really good Deadpool voice
Good point. :D
I would love to see him do it in a raspy voice
2:00
Wait. People seriously didn't know that She Hulk was already a thing...? Thats a whole new level of ignorance.
Also love how these guys don't know that Spiderwoman is a thing, and the guy at the bottom left ranting about female versions of male superheroes Mentions SuperWoman, a female Superman.
(Black Woman and Doctor Female are my favourites.)
to be fair, i get my knowledge of comic exclusive characters from the combination of learning they exist in a video game like lego or future fight, then looking at wikipedia... My first reaction might be the same, but that is when wikipedia fills me in on the fact that it isnt just "female (insert male hero name here)".
@@cullenlatham2366 yeah. For movies, I usually want to see how well it'll translate to the big screen, but for sime, it doesn't work (cough captain marvel cough)
@@Iliadic Carol Danvers was so much cooler as Ms. Marvel... She has so many cool stories we won't be able to see anymore like her and Rogue's rivalry (My favorite rivalry in comics)
The Fandom Menace is entirely composed of fake fans.
@@cullenlatham2366 honestly, I wish female superheroes had their own names. Not saying that their current names are bad, but She-Hulk, She-Venom, She-Thing, and more, aren't really amazing names-
"When Superhero movies WERE oversaturating the market to the point of audience fatigue..." How far in the future are you from?

nah thats how i felt pre/early mcu...but the mcu has proven its self. Dc not so much.
@@mickdipiano8768 dceu is a disgrace
In my opinion, the issue with Flanderization is that you remove depth and nuance from a character by exaggerating a specific set of traits or characteristics.
Early 2010s Deadpool is a good example, but I think Batman has actually been a prominent victim of Flanderization over the decades.
9:17 Everyone keeps talking about the title change meanwhile I’m wondering if the Deadpool game really came out in 2003
2:00 Wonder Man does exist, as a Marvel character.
What's crazier is the Spider-girl comment
"Black Woman" Oh you mean black Widow?
@@worstplayever700 lmao
“Ant woman??” you mean the Wasp?
Oh god, someone seriously commented "What is wrong with just a regular male superhero you have to make it a women." in response to she-hulk? Two things. 1. She-hulk has been around for decades and is not any kind of recent attempt at progressivism, not that it should matter if she were a recent character. 2. (and this is the bigger one) Usually when people have this kind of reaction to a female character there is a response from people who like the character or are just less reactionary that people respond by pointing out that "male"ness is treated as a default in most mediums while female characters seem to need some kind of reason to be female. This isn't even subtle with the male as default idea. What even is a "regular" male superhero? Do I really need to point out the "super" in the name? Why is it that the concept of a female is harder to accept than superpowers?
On a tangentially related note, Drake, you should probably mark out the names in future videos. I certainly will not be the one to go out and find these people to respond to them and I hope the rest of your audience wouldn't either but this is the internet. Anyone else reading this, please don't harass people.
it is nice to see Deadpool come back from the meme lord to actually well written and interesting character
He wasn't that interesting in the comics but thank God Ryan saved him
I enjoyed Gerry Duggan's run on Deadpool, Gerry made Deadpool feel like a sad clown. Even his despicable Deadpool was great, even though he had to reset Deadpool.
I’m dying 😂😂😂 the title is gold
I'll call 911
Cj V3NOM did he make it?
@2326_542337 ah yes, took quite a bit of miracle from the doctors but 6 months later and it appears I will be healing up well, thank you all for reaching out and sending me “getwell soon” Lap dances 😭
WHO DID THIS 😂😂😂
Deadpool was molded by the internet, BORN IN IT!
the story arc “good the bad and the ugly” is so good a lotta depth to wade as a character from it.
I want Deadpool 3 to open with Deadpool In Disneyland.
Is it my imagination or did this saw “Hoe the internet made Deadpool”
No, your eyes are correct.
It did. It's been fixed
Looking at the after credits scene of X-Men Origins: Wolverine, it was clear that what they had planned was that he was actually going to start talking a hell of a lot more, it just should not have started out the way it did. But maybe not, I'm just looking on a more optimistic side.
A lot of characters exist for decades yet people don't care about them until they actually get adaptations for better or for worse.
They turned him into meme man instead of sad funny man
1:58
Gotta love how all those neckbeards are acting all high and mighty for "preservation of the characters" and "SJW influence" yet they have no idea that She Hulk is a decades old character
Makes one's blood boil. Couldn't both characters have co-exist?
"I'm 70% sure it wasn't me" lmao this man is a treasure
I thought that the title was a terrible dutch translation from CZcams's side
I would have mentioned a bit more about that 97 book, Joe Kelly really gave deadpool his voice in that book and future writers ran with it
6:10 There are a few other exceptions like Ambush Bug, Jonni DC the Continuity Cop, Earth-C, home of Captain Carrot and the Zoo Crew before the Crisis rebooted them to Earth 26 (also the pre-crisis comic within a comic Earth C Minus, home of "Just'a Lotta Animals" and pre-crisis Earth C Plus, home of Hoppy the Marvel Bunny) and Larval Earth, home of Spider-Ham right?
Duggan's run is why I love Deadpool. I saw him in a Spiderman show, wanted more, and was greeted with one hell of good comic; that's why I dislike how so many people simplify him as memes memes memes, lol random humor. I managed to jump on the bandwagon at just the right time.
For someone who's not crazy about Deadpool, you did a great job of presenting this! Kudos to Chris, too.
I'm a simple man, I see Shulkie, I give a like.
Loving these longer videos Drake. You make high quality content and it's nice to see it stretched out beyond 7 minutes.
Love your channel keep up the good work
Great video thanks for sharing your work
Thanks for the great content comicdrake
I wanna say that I greatly admire the fact that despite your big disinterest in him, you still go the effort of making videos about Deadpool be equal in quality and research as any other of your videos. 😁👍
DO NOT CHANGE THE TITLE
He did
he did :(
Is that a mistake in the title or am I missing the joke?
Those DK books behind you were my sacred history texts as a kid. It wasn't easy in the 90/early00s to get entire runs of comics (other than those newsprint Essentials collections Marvel/DC did) but those books gave all the info you needed.
Also their Star Wars books (esp the cross-sectional books).
Loved the video, Drake!!!
Love how you handled the add read👌🏼
Anyone who enjoyed this might like the deadpool videos for death battle, they kind of gave a interesting meta arc to their whole process
2:00 those comments are a great read : "whats next black woman"
That Deadpool impression actually reminded me of the few scenes Black Spider got in Young Justice. Which makes sense, since they're both assassin Spider-Man.
Black Spider was voiced by Josh Keaton
Did anyone else receive a notification saying “Hoe the internet made Deadpool”
Most of us did.
YES! YES I DID! Why!?
Jolt Brother I guess it was a typo
Heh yeah
He has a typo and it makes the video betterrrr 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Too bad he "fixed" it.
Funny how I just finished a deadpool comic today and this just uploaded
4:26 That's funny because the very first time I saw a picture of Deadpool, decades ago, talking about his debut comic, I thought for a second it was a new Symbiote Villain.
Drake! I'm just discovering your channel, and I love it! It's like the comic book tv show I've always wanted. Also, great choice of cover art for this video. *wink* I approve whole-heartedly! XD
The title should be how the internet ruined Deadpool .
I’ve always loved Deadpool. I saw X-Men Origins. They messed him up so bad it didn’t even compute for me that that thing was the supposed to be the same guy
6:46 Well there weren't that many at the Power Morphicons I attended but there were a handful, complete with a Deadpool Ranger or two because of course there was.
@1:59 wow, those people have literally no self-awareness. Spider-Woman, Spider-Girl, Wonder Man and Thor Girl are literally all characters that exist and have existed for literal decades.
1:56 These people clearly need to play more UMvC3
Very interesting. I didn't know the specifics of Deadpool's history aside from the basics.
6:40 Deadpool before : The merc' with a mouth.
Deadpool then : The merch' with a mouth.
Idc, youre so enthusiastic. Likeee
Great job as always. Would you do a video on she hulk ? Shes been one of my favorite supporting characters for years !
Nice voice acting
You will never escape that mistake in the title.
Title checks out
I'd like to stop by and thank Deadpool for being the living meme/badass character with interesting character that he is. There's probably never gonna be another like him and I'm grateful for all the laughs and action and compelling plot. For jow different he can be and how much of a breath of fresh air he can be amongst the more grounded or serious superheroes!
Also, I went to go and see his brilliant movie and ended up coming home with more money! Someone left a £20 on the bus I took to the cinema. Even after the fare, ticket price and subway I had prior to the movie, I still had a net profit! Best cinematic experience of my life!
And the game was tons of fun!
Thanks for everything, Deadpool!
I want to read marvel comics but it's overwhelming how much series there are any suggestions of jumping points??
Drake has a video called "How to Start Reading Marvel/DC Comics!
". And an other youtuber Patrick (H) Willems has a video called "How to Get Into Comic Books". Check those out!
It's good to hear the comics deflanderized him thanks to those amazing movies. Now if only they were on Disney Plus... Something tells me Disney is going to make him a Touchstone property...
X-Men Evolution!
Haven’t watched the video yet had to drop everything to try and understand what I just read
if nothing else this video taught me that She-Hulk was WAY ahead of her time
Deadpool: Papa...
Deathstroke: ... Nope.
The original title was amazing...
Hey Drake. What happened to your video on Conan the Barbarian?
Chimi Chunga hahahahah he said chimy chuna lololooloollololll
This explains by Jerry Dugan’s run Deadpool is my favorite
Got screen shot of orginal title
This must have been hard for you to make , i feel bad for you
Who ever voice deadpool in this needs to be a voice actor for some cartoon of something even if you hate deadpiol
1:57 the funny thing is... there IS a Wonder Man
X-Men Origins is how I essentially find out about Deadpool!
4:45 when will it end?
The other day I watched a video from a weapons specialist and curator at the Royal Armoury's Museum. And he was very seriously talking about an antique gun, when I suddenly realized he was wearing a Deadpool shirt. It was weird.
3:43 Is that Robbie Reyes in the left corner?
For someone that really loves Deadpool it's easy to see that Drake doesn't really read it
Wait I'm confused, why were all those people mad about she hulk getting a show
I Bought a Shirt From Hot Topic Once That I Didn’t Know Was a Reference to 9 Inch Nails(I Think),I Still Have it Somewhere,I Haven’t Ever Listened to 9 Inch Nails(I Think)
Lmao Rob
The Posehn and Duggan comic made me cry like two or three times. It's really phenomenal and THE defintive Deadpool run that shows his sad clown persona really well. Not to mention some pretty intelligent humor and beautiful artwork in the flashback issues. The Wakanda-Kirby issue is one of the best homages to Kirby ever made. The Original Sin tie-in was great as well, despite the art being a bit ugly. The dynamic between Wade and his daughter was a great move, and though after Secret Wars when Posehn left, it wasn't AS strong. And the last Skottie Young run stank. But I hope Thompson and Bachalo breathe some new life into the character. Only Cable & Deadpool or Joe Kelly's run can match the beauty of Posehn and Duggan's run. Not the most iconic run, but the best one at showing how nuanced of a character Deadpool CAN be. It even makes me think a bit of BoJack Horseman, but with a more likeable main character.
Yeah that's one of the sad parts we have to understand about duggans run. Is that it was so good, that all other runs after that will pale in comparison to duggans run. Skotties run was like a happy meal burger. Definitly not fine dining, it's what you would expect from fast food. Kelly Thompson in the other hand, loves duggans run on DP, so it's likely she will be taking lessons from his run
10:03 wait did his neck just get sliced backwards
Ryan Reynolds: I’m 70% sure it wasn’t me
There was a time when every 99 cents store sold three-pacs of overprinted from the 90's. Mostly, they contained something from Knightfall, Death of Superman, or Ultimate Carnage/a Valiant book or an Image book that wasn't Spawn in the middle/and a less popular Marvel or DC book. I used to buy them because I viewed them as fun scavenger hunt and as a result I own quite a few issues of KnightQuest, Cyberforce, Magnus: Robot Hunter, and John Byrne's She-Hulk. I know exactly why she failed; she constantly joked about how people didn't like her and negatively compared herself to the Hulk. It's sort of hard for a book to advertise itself with "None of you like me. The industry is stupid. Buy my book!" Animal Man got more respect because Grant Morrison's message revolved more around how he respected his audience, and how he was trying to advance the genre.
The ending reminded me of finishing a dance routine and holding the final pose😂😂😂😂 just jokes btw
Honestly, I always saw rob liefields version of Deadpool as a Merc with Drama.
Comic Drake I'd like to suggest a video.
I personaly like the sad deadpool stuff wiith his duaghter and how depresed he is due to knowing he's in a comic book.
I really like the despicable Deadpool version, or Sad Clown Deadpool. He still does absurd shit, but has serious emotional depth
Would Deadpool need to manscape with the whole dying skin thing
0:02 they should move deadpool just a little to the side. Why? To umm- admire the view :)
I kinda like the old quippy style more.
2:00 bro, seeing those comments piss me off. The 'She-Hulk' comics are some of the best and most unique MARVEL has made so to see it dismissed as just another act of unnecessary feminism sucks
4:51 SUS
anyone else noticed the dirk of Chronus in the video?
1:58 I HATE those instagram comments. They’re all so incredibly sexist
Meanwhile Rob Liefeld rests on the internet's laurels.
