I'm currently studying to become a marine biologist, and I absolutely love your videos! Very informative while also being adorable and funny!
I think that that’s what I’m gonna do in a couple years

Fun fact: these were thought to be extinct until someone accidentally caught one while fishing
*on camera.
Imagine going fishing and accidentally catching an extinct species
Isn’t this the fish that’s eaten in Spirited Away?
we eat this in indonesia, called sea king or in Indonesia languange Raja Laut. in komoro Island
Accidentally caught one? I thought it was well known in some part of Asia, then a scientist found it in a fish market and realised it wasn't extinct.
The reason that the baby just stays in the womb for 5 years is because of the little "lump" you can see on the child. That lump is actually a yolk from which the child gets their nutrients since they dont come with an umbilical cord
Edit: Wow thanks for 3 k likes. Hope you found it informative
Edit 2: Wow 11k likes. Thanks for the appreciation guys
Ooooh that explains it, I thought that lump was because babies of the species come out pregnant. It's a dumb idea but it really reminded of that weird barbie toy that is a pregnant barbie but the baby is also pregnant with its own baby. Idk why it was made but yeah it's cursed
W-what?
Oh so its like a placenta that directly pumps them into the baby itself imagine how low the blood pressure must be
@@Ug-lordetheunmovable Aphid Barbie
@@Ug-lordetheunmovable putting aside the dolls I never wanna see, there is an actual insect that gives to its young which give birth the moment they are born.
So it’s not completely far fetched.
I’d look up the name for you, but I still prefer to avoid the risk of seeing that imagery again…
Although it is impressive but is so adorable as she says "this is my first pregnancy" 🥺
Yeah! like " New mama here!🥰 im due in a year im so excited! ❤🥰❤" like awwww
The baby is so cute tho😭
5 YEARS PREGNANT SHEESH.
I never knew that coelacanths were like that. I know they've been unchanged for at least 420 million years (old enough to have near identical fossils around the period where fish were beginning to be in abundance BEFORE MOST COMMON DINOSAURS.)
I wonder how they survived with such a long pregnancy?
Edit: I mean relatively unchanged.
Yes there are some differences from fossils, but compared to most species that change drastically in such a large timeframe, the coelacanth's differences are microscopic in comparison to the average species evolution.
Prolly being in the deep dark? That’s a guess from a random guy on the internet so take me for granted.
Abortion debates must be insane
420 million?
Time to celebrate 🌳 🔥
They have changed tf u mean unchanged, i mean relatively to other species i guess but they have differences with the fossils.
@@aldrinmilespartosa1578what
Coelacanths are amazing! They’re like living fossils! A real blast from the past, if you will.
There's an awful lot of living fossils... Hagfish, Lampreys, sharks, but yeah, Coelacanths are cool. But Coelacanths are only closely related to us mammals, they're not that closely though, as there's a huge gap between the actual species of fish that became our terrestrial animals and the coelacanths.
But still even so. if we're going to talk about old stuff... myriapods, they were on land before what we consider true fishes even existed. The only fishes that existed back then were Agnathans or Jawless Fish, like Lampreys and Hagfish. But obviously not Lampreys and Hagfish, but their distant cousins, but they're one of the oldest living species that originated in the Cambrian.

yeah I couldn’t find something that lived with coelacanths 100 million years ago :(
I support this
The fact she’s still so excited to be a mom even though she’s been waiting 4 years just to give birth is crazy
I hear "4 years pregnant" and my brain sounds like a jet engine slowly spooling up before I audibly say "FOUR YEARS?!"
Coelacanth's are such wild animals. Apart from the 5 year pregnancy, they can live for 100 years and only reach maturity at around 55.
I love how you can make some of the most horrifying sea creatures so wholesome!
They are not horrifying they are awsome and cool and even Look cool
How are celocanths horrifying? I think their cool and at times adorable not terrifying at all.
They ain't horrifying, just been through a lot (more than 65 million years of pain)
Yes, anything sea terrifies me. My only true fear is being stuck in the ocean. I don’t care if a Chromis came up and bumped my leg I’d be freaking out.
Yeah!! Like I can understand how a celocanth could look Unsettling/scare but it's So Cute how they drew it!!
Very wholesome overall indeed!!
coelacanth is my favourite fish of all time, this was so cute * -*
Why is this strangely wholesome I really love the way how this is also kind of a slice of life thing and I absolutely love it and the coelacanth is give me major lady rainicorn vibes
Despite the oddly adorably strange accents, the illustrations and videos altogether are so well done! I love your style and learning about marine biology

@@mehmeh540Abortion arguments finna be crazy
Then we'd be giving birth to fully-developed humans versus these half-developed little bobbleheads. 😂
I'd imagine the baby would develop more in that time period or at the very least a lot slower so it can properly form at least we would have that as an upside. We'd also probably have usually stuff like the belly stretching from the child be less prominent or have it happen near the end of the pregnancy to put less stress on the mothers body so she can actually survive to deliver the child.
@@ElysetheEeveemale babys would have 8008.s becuz they develop from the mother
Aw❤ but at the same time 5 years pregnant😱
sheesh, that poor mother.
I played an elf at a larp once and someone asked how long elves were pregnant. there was no real lore about that so I dryly said 9 years. all the males turned white lol
Is it just me or does everyone else also find the fishes voices so cute
Your videos give big B-Mo from adventure time energy! From the wholesomeness, to the unexpected absurd humor, to the voices themselves!! Absolutely love them!
Them babies living in a mansion 💀💀💀
I'd love to see one of these on the comb jelly. Those little guys have cellular structures found nowhere else in the animal kingdom, meaning *_their biology is completely alien to every other thing on this planet._*
Like, I can't stress enough how weird that is. EVERY animal shares the same cellular structures! Back in the primordial soup when multicellular organisms started to evolve, you got plant cells and animal cells (and fungi in-between) EXCEPT for the comb jelly which said "nah imma do my own thing."
These fish haven't changed at all over millions of years meaning they're already the perfect form of themselves.
i absolutely love the voice acting on these videos, they're so cute and cozy! keep making these!🩵
I love these shorts.

The biggest question is why did it take that fish 4 years to notice
Why're you assuming it took the fish four years to notice? :>
