I would like to thank you for expanding my musical tastes and reigniting my love for, not only guitar, but music as my mistress in general. so i’m late to the party here, had not heard of spafford until just a bit ago, and to be honest i was just kind of meh from what i watched, but the series of tunnels and shafts, similar to the japanese defense throughout the mountains of the philippines in ww2, that is getting lost in youtube videos late at night made me think two things. 1.) What is that guitar the dude from spafford plays, and 2.) holy shit the video i’m watching here, man Brian looks like my doppelgänger more so than any other dude i’ve ever seen. I need to hear what this dude sounds like when he talks,….. so i come across this, and holy cow it’s like i’m watching myself tell MYSELF that i need to show you my spirit animal, it’s pete townsend sitting in with the dead during wharf rat…. so i decide to save the reveal for myself for on my way home from taking my two kids to school this morning…. and low and behold the absolute chaos that is bob weir’s energy and how absolutely you see the desperation slowly reach its peak, i had to pull over because i’ve got my 18 month old in the car seat in back with me….i have not laughed so hard in my life watching my own spirit animal change from the gal who was a contestant on the miss america pageant some years ago and the train wreck that was her talking about the “us americans and as such” when answering a question, to pete townsend doing that dance…. and it was myself who suggested i watch a video i should have already seen 100 times over the past 20 years…. if you made it to the end of this dumpster fire of a story ….. your welcome…. and man fuck the internet , thanks Brian i might make the decision now to never see you live for fear that should we meet, the shock to the system of the universe as we know it will be too great, and life as we know it will seize to exist. i need some cinnamon toast crunch and a nap, peas
