The Voice actor from the Pyramids of Mars who Voiced Sutekh returns to Voice him in the Episode
Gabriel Woolf - he was also the voice of The Beast!
@@chrisleneil Ncuti always said he wanted to face the Beast, this is the closest he'll probably get lol
Carla recognised his voice as The Beast (the voice actor who voiced Sutekh voiced the Beast). I wonder if it was just some Easter egg, or if Carla knows something we don’t 👀
My brain works in a weird way : i connect things. And now i know that DAWAN's as the doctor master on that weird planet was who led to Sutekh! Read this explanation! I just watched the Sutekh serial from classic who... and then watched the previous serial : Planet of the dead.... far from the farthest reaches in Tennant's episode, they indeed thread things done by Tom Baker there ... reaching the end of the universe, same thing as in Wild blue yonder. And that was just before sh*t happened with sutehk BOTH times now. What did happen in planet of the dead? they go on a colorful planet with plants. SOOOOO when Dawan as the Dotor was on that planet... he might have found Sutekh! Hence why he found with the Toymaker !!! WOW just stumbled upon this by luck friends!
@@kineticnotion well Carla knew some things you are right i bet!! she went to get Miss Flood and wanted to be there... she might be a protector... or as in 73 yards and in church on ruby road : she is evil in other realities.... only good cuz of her love for ruby in our reality
Kate: Harriet, you met her
Doctor: Yeah, I know, I know, but what is her full name?
Harriet: Harriet Jones. Former Prime Minister
John Simm Master vibes
Sutekh: yes I know who you are.
The first bit of the chant really had me think the Beast had returned lol
I think the beast and sutekh are the same? Like how he says hes gone by many names?
@@eveebunny The Doctor even calls Sutekh "Satan" among other names in the original serial
@eveebunny 🤔 Yeh, but the Beast was locked up before time, while the Doctor I believe helped lock up Sutekh, but who knows with time travel
All I know is that if they are the same character, then someone is not mentioning the other events
I wouldn’t mind a retcon to make them the same person. The satan pit episode takes place waaaay in the future so theres room in the timeline for it to work I think
@samwell54 honestly, I think it would work better if they aren't the same person, like the Devil has so much potential going forward if he ever gets out of that hole lol
So much better than Daleks and Cybernen all the time. At last an original series dating to do new things
Where do young Osirons attend university….
Su-Tech
Byeee this made me snort laugh in a McDonalds 😂😂😂
sutekh is a real monster if he was just pretending the tardis anagram and susan name ,to fool the doctor
Not a God though. Certainly God like in Power, but the Doctor originally 'killed' him by trapping him in a time corridor.
Gabriel Woolf, the original actor for Sutekh, came back 49 years later at the age of 91 years to reprise the role! That must break some sort of TV record.
I honestly teared up at the big reveal in this episode, gotta admit the music queues gave me ‘The Beast’ energy so I was expecting him especially with the way he was chanting, but was so happy to see our Sutekh back in action, voiced as well by the legendary Gabriel Woolf. Of all the classic villains to come back in a series of none I’m so glad it’s him. Although I must admit I was hoping the face reveal of Ruby’s mum might have been a part of that cliffhanger as well.
I just watched the Sutekh serial from classic who... and then watched the previous serial

The music really did sound like the Beast!
@@lonelystarslibrary9326 one of the majesty’s of Murray’s return. Akinola’s music always felt disconnected story to story but Murray always weaves in similar musical motifs in a beautiful way.
Okay... Hear me out. Ruby Sunday is the Doctors daughter... He says he "will have children" multiple times now and Ruby is looking for her parents. Its the doctor.
I have no words. Omfg, just wow I
I kind of hope it ends on another cliff hanger to space it out in till Christmas.. Omg though
I haven't seen much of classic who so to be honest this doesn't really mean much to me. I'm more excited for seeing Susan to be honest.
Even though I don't know him well, he's still the God of Death, the most powerful of all the Gods we've seen so far, even more powerful than the Toymaker. That's what gets me excited.
You really need to watch Pyramids of Mars, it's a favourite for many, many fans.
@@DeepThought42Hi I'll watch it. And please if you have any other suggestions for classic who stories please tell me.
Oh dear, I did type out quite a list from nearly all Doctors but CZcams did something to make me lose it all just when I was finishing. No time to start again. Do watch Pyramids of Mars. Also The Ark in Space, The Sontaran Experiment, Genesis of the Daleks (possibly my favourite, and that of many too) and possibly Revenge of the Cybermen from Season 12. Most of the fourth Doctor's serials are worth seeing., some considered real rippers. City of Death The Robots of Death.
An Unearthly Child (1st ep of 1st serial), the Daleks or the abridged colourised movie the BBC broadcast last November.
The Tenth Planet, The Moonbase, The Invasion, The Tomb of the Cybermen, The Enemy of the World, The Web of Fear. The Seeds of Death. All of Season 7 really but particularly Inferno.
Day of the Daleks, The Sea Devils, The Three Doctors, Carnival of Monsters, The Green Death. The Time Warrior, Invasion of the Dinosaurs (suspend disbelief for the special effects!, or laugh). Death to the Daleks.
Earthshock, The Five Doctors, Resurrection of the Daleks, Planet of Fire, The Caves of Androzani.
Script deterioration from No 6 onward, worse for No 7. Here in Australia the ABC relegated it from the start of No 7 on to a mid afternoon weekday timeslot for young kids only as wasn't considered good enough scripts for adults as well, definitely not for prime time. It had been broadcast and repeated to death from the 70s to the mid 80s in the 6-7pm prime timeslot prior to that.
You'll need to get into a 60s/70s/80s headspace re the production quality (and note the budget in the 80s hadn't change in actual amount to that they were given in the 60s so were making it on the smell of an oily rag). Also the style of TV making, especially for the early days of TV in the 60s. No re-takes. Also it was written for viewing one episode of a serial each week, not binge-watching all at once so may seem to drag. Will also seem to drag as in the 2000s they started writing TV and movie scripts so they are all now faster paced, and editing them so the story moves along faster too. So you need to take that into account when watching. Older TV and movies can seem very slow paced, even to older people as we've all got so used to fast pace for everything.
This episode kinda threw me in a loop, because I had zero clue who Sutekh was, and I think this season should've set this one a bit better considering the people who watch this (esp on Disney+) would probably have no clue either. I've only barely scratched the surface of Classic Who and I wasn't aware of Sutekh at all.
Hi there are still a few unsolved mystery
Mrs Flood knowing what is coming - does Sutekh control her as well
Who is Ruby's mother
Is Susan going to appear at all
Will the14th Doctor assist....
But Sutekh was an Osiran, a physical alien species in the real universe. How is he also a cosmic god from beyond the universe?
He destroy the world in 1980.
But when they name all the evil entities, the pantheon.... that was quite lore heavy!!
Anyone notice Mrs Floods smile?
So glad we are finally getting see the return of these great vilains like the Toymaker and Sutekh, would really like to see the return of the meddling monk, The Rani or even the Trickster make a return to the series, we dont always need Daleks or Cybermen or the return of Davros (which do tend to be great episodes dgmw) its about time these legendary characters came back even though they only ever appeared once 50+ years ago like the toymaker was allegedly meant to return in trial of a timelord with colin baker 20 years after his original appearance but for some reason fell through
I think his goal is pretty clear as he says it himself at the end of the episode "To bring death to you and your universe". I looked up information on him and it seems his only desire is to bring death and destruction to the universe as it´s "his good" so I don´t expect any other big motivation besides bringing it right towards the Doctor who he fought with years ago like how the Toymaker returns and faces the Doctor head on as his revenge.
Well done on such a quick appraisal and especially with hay fever.
I'm genuinely starting to think that Susan Foreman could be Ruby's mother and that's how she will make a return when she lowers the hood to reveal Carole Ann Ford but then I was wrong about Sutekh I just wish the finale was a feature length episode instead of in 2 parts as the wait is going to be unbearable.
Loved this episode what a shocking cliffhanger
I just watched the Sutekh serial from classic who... and then watched the previous serial
: Planet of the dead.... far from the farthest reaches in Tennant's episode, they indeed thread things done by Tom Baker there ... reaching the end of the universe, same thing as in Wild blue yonder. Don't know why he's someone the Celestial Toymaker, a being born in one of the 6 Celestial Guardians the literal Gods who helped create the Universe was scared of a false god who isn't immortal and in every other thing he appeared in he had very little actual power. Why Russel, why?
Very little actual power? A false God? You must be confusing Sutekh with someone else, he's an all powerful destroyer. Do watch Pyramids of Mars.
What is time to a god
Theory: the tardis (the copy aka the one we have been seeing) is not alive and has really been inhabited by sutekh the whole time or it’s just really dumb this is my first doctor who theory since I started watching from the 2005 to now a few months ago 😅
Great episode but sutekh how hes bellow the toy maker though
Was also disappointed by the link to third doctor era it was very loosely done. Its been establish sutekh was a mortal very powerful alien playing a part so when did he become a god
His species were biologically and technologically advanced to the point they were seen as mortals that could challenge the gods. If I remember correctly, sutekh wants the gods dead as well as the universe
@@kwiz9770 yea but he was still mortal and died unless it is still a fake out from trickster he is the god if traps after all and this was “100% a trap” lol
@@markcolgan3262 It's odd that traps got mentioned both times there, yeah...
It could actually still be the trickster
I don't understand the third doctor suggestion as Sutekh is a fourth Doctor villan
Dude it got 2.02 watches
so what was The Legend of Ruby Sunday?
The Time Window scene
It should’ve been trickster as the villain not some lame bat
0/10, didn't explain Sutekh's Faction Paradox appearances.
You do realise that this is the first of a two parter? If it’s not answered next week, start whining about it then.
@@roblough3314 Hmm? I meant this _video_ was a 0 out of 10 for not mentioning them.
Cliff hanger? Who was in any danger? What were the stakes? This was a load of time wasting fluff. Go see Stolen Earth if you want tension.
Absolutely trash.. 🗑️ please cancel this now. It's not doctor who
This is NOT HOW TO GO ON.For those wanting to see the episode tonight you may have spoilt it for then.Youre not a nerd but a bit of a pratt in my book, the whole of dr who fandom should take to CZcams to get you banned
What are you talking about, the episode had already dropped. It’s nobody else’s fault but your own that you couldn’t stay away from CZcams before you watched it.
@@roblough3314 Well those older who pride themselves on getting as much sleep as possible and may not an a connection to the web and still pride themselves in thinking to watch the show in its natural state, should have been a couple of days before the reveal.CZcams should do more to rid this once great platform of spoiler gits getting in the way of a below average season.
@roblough3314 it's more the fact he put "spoiler" in the title but revealed who was in the thumbnail. Like please cover it up got at least 48 hours.
@@iandalby4273 But presumably you knew you were running the risk of spoilers if you went on to CZcams prior to watching the episode? Well, lesson learned for next week I guess 😂
@@roblough3314 Well Rob,you still havent told me season 2 episode run all the final big bad so you lot are not very good at giving away every secret
They *HAVE* to bring Carole Ann Ford back now after the conversations the Doctor has had this season!
I’m not even a huge fan of Sutekh (wanted an evil Tardis in human form), but it was perfectly done! RTD knows how to do Who 💜💜➕🌈🟦
