Wow 😳
How are you able to miss so much work without getting fired? I'd love to chase all the time but I could never do that

Right?! I'd be backing up

Can’t decide what’s scarier: that you drive this close to tornadoes or that you haven’t changed your windshield wipers.
Even new wipers make a squeaking sound when there isn’t enough moisture on the windows. The way to tell is by seeing streaks, not by squeaks.
Not enough moisture? Then turn them off...!!!!
@@williamduckworth305 - I think, he had more pressing matters, at the time...!!!! Besides, the adrenaline-rush, was probably keeping him from noticing, _wiper-noise..._
@@williamduckworth305 It annoys my bf too when I turn them on and it’s barely raining but I’m like “...but I see speckles” 😂
Lol seriously couldn't focus on the daunting but magnificent act of nature with that squeaky window wiper!
Had a family friend who was a storm chaser. He’d always say the most dangerous thing is when you have multiple nearby because it’s so hard to watch both and calculate every move you make in split seconds while accounting for both. That’s terrifying.
so imagine tornados that is indescribably so much larger than that, what eyes can see, and cameras can catch.... larger than countries to be more specific, perhaps even larger than continents...
I've read that the most dangerous aspect is other drivers.
Plus they often orbit each other and show other odd behaviors.
This was like a horse shoe shaped storm, flat on both sides U shaped at the top. The right side was severe winds, tornados, slight hail and extreme rain. On the left of the horseshoe there was snow and freezing not sure how much because that's left of where I live. I live in Nebraska as well and will say this was a freak storm I'm 23 and this one definitely sticks out amongst really bad storms
@@bumbleiriat31 that's called hurricanes...
this is easily the most thrilling footage ive seen of a tornado chasing. i heard u start talking about seeing the other tornado while the first one is meters away and am flabbergasted.
as the white car speeds towards it lol. Like chill bruh.
You madlad you were 30 meters from that EF4!!!
I love how the white car just lets the tornado go by like a deer crossing the road and then just continues along its way. Just another day here in the Midwest
Exactly what I and everyone else was thinking. Crazy how confident they knew the direction of that demonic twisting wind tunnel.

@@br_ok_in I'm in my fifth decade living in Nebraska. I assure you that wasn't confidence. Never assume confidence in the direction of a tornado. My confidence only ever lies in a tornado shelter or fortified basement

As a child my family was driving on the highway on a nice hot sunny day. Storm rolling in, nasty by the clouds. Not a few minutes later my Dad's got the pedal to the floor trying to out run the thing (no where to go) & us kids were in the back staring at this enormous tornado that was waaaay too close to us. He finally came up to a side road & turned off hoping to get out of the way........tornado veered off behind us not long after. Two or three times we thought we'd escaped only for the thing to double back. Crazy shit. My Dad was a WWII vet, man had nerves of steel & I never imagined he could drive like that! Finally the thing kept on moving away from us & we were safe. Never forgot it. 50 yrs ago. I have massive Respect for Storm Chasers. This was some amazing footage!
Wow 😲😳
I had a very similar experience. Dad took us to Colorado for vacation, and honestly, I don't remember where we were, but the terrain was flat and all fields. We were surrounded by 6 tornadoes, and my Dad drove like a gangsta. Praise God Dad made all the right decisions. He was a Federal Agent, and I'm sure all his car chases paled in comparison. I have (I guess) PTSD from that experience, because tornadoes paralyze me. I kick myself into gear and do what needs to be done. No time to freeze.
That sounded intense, the type of stuff you see in movies.
Military men drive like they stole it… what my friend used to tell me…
@@ericoliver1603 I'll never forget it.
This has to be the scariest thing I've ever heard or seen. The violent squeaking noise will keep me up at night. The tornadoes were scary as well.

This guy either knows exactly what he's doing, or he's unbelievably reckless. Can't tell which.

I'm more worried about that white car that just drove into it!
I think what scares me the about these tornadoes is not only the mass destruction it's causing but seeing how fast it's traveling over the ground
the anxiety i got from watching it speed across the field was crazy especially when zoomed in, looked like it was flying
Wouldn't doubt if it was traveling over the ground near 100mph over certain areas.
3mins
What scares me about tornados is that, they are unpredictable. You only get a tornado warning but don't know where till is too late if someone is to close to it, when it touches the ground.
It's like they're evolving
This thing looks extremely violent. That rotation was really moving
bruh
Yes it was really moving. Everything you see in movies are real!
There were fatalities with this horrific tornado.
@@cindybrunken4005 i am sure of it. If you aint below ground u prob will not make it when its this violent! I survived moore 2013 underground and that cell n tornado actually was pulling us up to the door of the bunker thats how extreme the suction was

@@michaelgriffith6410 I saw the Weather Channel’s program on those tornadoes. A woman lost her little girl because they didn’t have anywhere to go.

Many viewers seem to think this recently happened just because the video was uploaded 9 days ago.
This had nothing to do with the multi-state tornados on Dec. 10th.
That's the closest I've seen a storm chaser get near a tornado in a while, Not even these well known high sub count channels get that close. My hat goes of to you sir...stay safe.

Come visit me at the North Pole sometime, ask for Santa.
We've earhquakes galore here in Türkiye, a few sleeping volcanoes (the last eruption in 1840), small tsunamis (with sea intruding into the land for 1 km), and no tornadoes at all.

Rule 1: if the tornado DOESN'T look like it's moving, that means it's coming right at you!
If you were there you would know
@@ynwa1283 It could also be moving away from you, or stationary.
Most have a doppler radar on them to help indicate the direction of the wind shear, and if you're an expert you can easily use the wind and cloud movements to tell where they're going

Hi Scott. Absolutely fantastic work Buddy. I love watching sever thunderstorms and tornadoes. As a former Pilot with U.K. based Virgin Atlantic, I spent nearly twenty years flying to the US. And we did our best to avoid flying anywhere near sever thunderstorms! But they were so captivating and beautiful from a distance in the air. Orlando and Miami in the summertime were my favourite routes! I’m now subscribed, and buying your Nebraska Twin Tornadoes Print too. I’ve sent you an email with a request for you to sign my framed print if you can please. I’d really appreciate it mate. Best Regards. from England
What a great video Scott. I was shocked by that house just flying through the air like that. I pray the people weren't in it.
I lived in Nebraska guaranteed they were in the storm cellar locked it farther away from the house
The fact that the whole entire house got picked up in tack and thrown like a baseball was scary. Couldn’t imagine hiding in the basement and having the entire home get ripped up above you.
Thank goodness for the engineering of storm cellars being able to survive the whole frickin house just...flying off.

In Europe we call those "houses" wooden huts. No wonder they are flying away.
@@GASH_one a tornado of this size would rip apart your European houses too. They’re nothing to mess with.
@Andrew most houses in the states of SD, ND, Kansas, Nebraska, and Iowa have basements because of how common tornadoes are. It honestly should be a requirement by law in those states to have them in a home kind of like smoke detectors but yet again there’s mobile homes and apartments. However regular styled houses should be required to have it
@@fluffypanda8287 To be honest, I think so too. At least the roofs would fly off. But houses made of stone (the inner walls too, of course), with a good foundation are a little bit more resistant, don't you think?

I thought it was either horses or houses perhaps?
It was a house
Vortices. He saw multiple vortices. A multiple-vortex tornado is a tornado that contains several vortices (called subvortices or suction vortices) revolving around, inside of, and as part of the main vortex.
It was a house then he said a horse
An entire two story house 🏠 😮
I’d probably find myself waking up in the middle of the night for several nights after this. I couldn’t believe how close you got.
these storms were crazy! it didn't stop in Nebraska, we had 2 tornado warnings within 1 hour in Tennessee, one was less than a mile from my house, its crazy how all of this happens in December
Scott that is one of the best tornado videos out there
Some of the best storm chasing footage I’ve seen.
The best footage of a tornado I've ever seen. I think you are brave! I'm 68 years old and my Dad was born and raised in Nebraska. He talked about some of the things there, but seeing it like this gives you a whole other perspective. It's horrifying to watch those towns and people being destroyed. Amazing footage. I'm so glad you are okay.
CZcams search exist, there's def way better footage of tornados than this
@@rarebreed4512 stop hating obviously they’re not that much better otherwise you wouldn’t have to say anything
@@GHOSMUSIC what? 12?
@@rarebreed4512 there's literally 20 people out there at least and the guy's in 2 different white cars were like 20 or 30 feet away at one point. Those are definitely better closer
@@GHOSMUSIC also how does me knowing there is better footage and saying something correlate? IT DOESN'T! try again sir
That has got to be the one of the most incredible tornado shoots I have ever seen... I'm so glad we don't get them in the UK.
You do get tornadoes in the UK. Not often but they can and do happen. Here's a link to a wikipedia page talking about one of them: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2005_Birmingham_tornado
@@AlaskaB83 yes extremely rare but also tiny in comparison...if one of the size featured in the clip went through Birmingham tens of thousands would be hurt or killed.
Thankfully only once in a blue moon small ones
I saw a few whirlwinds running across the Berkshire Downs when I lived at Harwell. They ran along the top of the ridge on the route of the Ridgeway ancient track.
Here in Monterrey México Is mountains place, we Also do not have tornados cause of mountains, but 2020 Is like special bastard so we got 1 tornado and caused big problems in the área of some companies.
But a good storm is can't-miss viewing, though. Its unreal.
Always remember that if you see the tornado looks like it isn't moving, it means it is coming towards you.
That’s not always the case
I live in lincoln Ne. We just got 80 mph winds.we were lucky but still scary. I watched my neighbors trampoline go way up in the air and back down. But nothing like this. Even though we were in a tornado warning lost power for about a hour.
I wanna say rest In Peace to every single human & Animal that lost their life due to this tornadoe. I pray for you all. My heart goes out to everyone affected by this tragedy
Me too. I hope people, at least let their animals they keep outside, loose so they can run to or try to get to safety. They can always try to find them afterwards. This is always on my mind, the second I hear of any catastrophe. All the while watching this, I was hoping there were no animals around.
I’m so sad
@@deckiepoo me too
@@TerriMagoo So sorry. Hope things get better for you.

"There is deadly a Tornado crossing the Street!!"
White Sedan: "Hold my beer."
"Leroooooy Jenkins!!!"
I love seeing all of the storm chasers with their cameras out!! That makes my heart happy. Carry on!
I once said that Nebraska was boring. Now, I take it ALL back, one hundo P. WOW!!!!Thes tornados were HUGE!!! Was cool to see the storm chaser car!!! This is incredible footage! Amazing.. you are brave AF!!! Thank you for sharing!
Some of the most amazing footage I've seen as far as tornadoes go... and I was right on the edge of one in 1979. Truly frightening !
The footage is great.... but.... those windshield wipers man lol Jesus Christ the thumping and screeching really made this video so damn annoying to watch, i had to turn the sound off. If OP sees this, please invest a few bucks to get some new blades and clean your windshield with some RainX lolol the quality of your videos will skyrocket.
Much respect for what you guys do. Too close for comfort, but amazing to see
F4 will definitely relocate your house
@@leociresi4292 “Is there an F5?”
@@KlaustheViking Yes, there is. They are very rare, but definitely happen. They can be 2+ miles long, and have win speeds of around 320 mph. They demolish literally everything in their path.
@@gigistephens4633 I was referring to the movie “Twister” lol. I know what you’re saying though.
@@KlaustheViking Well damn, that's a bit general. I don't think most people would have got that, and I've seen the movie Twister lol.
Bro that's crazy! I'm glad you are safe.
props on the amazing video footage. Be safe out there this looks insane!
I remember as a child growing up we lived on an army base 50 miles from a small in west Texas where the town had man made hills surrounding the town. The hills were taller then the tallest house. Many years ago I thought they were Indian burial mounds and later on I found out it was the towns primitive way of slowing down tornadoes because they had so many.
I was born and raised in West Texas..still here.just curious about where you lived?Have a wonderful Christmas and be safe.😊
impressive!
@@Stephanie-wx2fv Mind you this was between 1942 and 1969. Robinson training field, Worsham, Miller Field and Downing many of these places were near the farms where we worked and others were in the middle of what was then no where and we lived off of the land until my father came home. I haven't visited up that far in ages I wonder if its just as flat as I remember it. I enjoy driving up to Austin in a standard vehicle. All those hills and then the land flattens out again.
Here is a tip from a mechanic. Polish the outside surface of your glass like you would car paint. It’s a more permanent version of window treatments. Your windows will look great for filming.
That was so dangerously close I was literally gritting my teeth on the edge of my seat!
New Fan right here from Houston,Tx.!🔥👌
Crazy to know this was actually 7 years ago, I thought this was from yesterday based on publish date and the comments, this deserves more recognition
Oh this wasn't from the same storm?
Yes you're correct. This footage is almost 10 years old
I agree this storm didn't get near the coverage of some others, and it should have. It damn near wiped Pilger from the face of the planet. But I'm not a fan of the timing of this post. Feels like he is trying to make money off of a video taken 7 years ago and trying to cash in on people's misfortune from a couple days ago.
@@barrymak421 well shit! Gawd damn internet!
This deserves an Academy award and a Grammy for the squeaky wipers lol Mother Nature is amazing
I remember this day! I was helping a friend move and saw those storm clouds. It felt just like yesterday
At around 7:35 up until nearly the end, you can hear that screaming wind! That is probably one of the scariest sounds to me. For me, because I'm totally blind, the wind in my ears can really make it difficult to hear what's going on around me, but if it's changing winds, that can even be dangerous. If the sun's out, it helps, because I can use it to determine what direction I'm traveling or facing.
OMG- Did ya’ll see that Dude hanging out the window filming at 4:38?? Totally NUTS!!
Thats crazy. People just driving around like there is nothing!!
Just a upside down cloud
Its not like cars have facial expressions...
@@cbs1n15 LOL That’s a good one!
It's probably just another storm to them, Nebraska always gets tornadoes lol.
This is awesome. Truly crazy! Thank you for sharing!
Do people avoid living in specific areas? How many times in a life time these people suffer the damages? Do they just live there and hope for the best? How does that work? I’m just wondering, because I don’t think I would never live on those areas.
Some residents aren't detoured from leaving saying it's their town and they will only grow stronger from it. Noble yes. For me? I'd leave lol
You crazy people - this was amazing, terrifying, exciting - all of those things. Don't know whether you are courageous or just out of your minds! Probably both. Great photography. Don't live in the States and we have few tornadoes in my country. We do get hurricanes but have a lot of warning before they hit. This is unbelievable.
Tornadoes can be unpredictable and that’s why I hate them
@@jwlikesmusic You are sure right about tornadoes being so unpredictable and not knowing what direction their going
The white car could have easily died
These people are like bull riders. It’s not if they get, but when…
@@1jackvalley580-They usually go northeast but they do take some funny twists & turns.
Reminds me of a dream I had as a child...several tornados coming down out of the sky at same time. Your video footage is amazing!
see if you can find footage of the el reno tornado. multiple vortices and winds over 300 mph
I had the same few years back.
"Dreams are messages from the deep"
I had the same dream and I don't live near tornado areas
I've had a very similar dream as well. Must be quite common.
This is close to a masterpiece. Fine shooting and driving, sir.
I was in Pilger earlier that day. It was the quietest, most humid day i've ever experienced. Two people died :(
