I used JB weld steel stick putty to patch my dads exhaust leak on his Catalitic Converter I was actually surprised It held up for over 3 years He recently sold that Ford As far as i know its still holding up
this is the fix you use if you can't be bothered to spend more than 30 seconds on it before passing the vehicle off to be someone else's problem. he could have taken the clamp off and used exhaust tape but jb welding over the clamp will not last more than a few bounces down the road.
@@demonboston2943 You can't hear the broken engine until the exhaust is fixed. Always fix your exhaust in order to hear your busted engine, is my advice.
From what I've read and seen on the internet (and it was a lot) JB Weld will melt right off anything on or before the catalytic converter, but it's just fine for something like this in the video. There is something that will work called furnace cement. Clean the area well and make sure it's got something to bite to.
@@hamzaabdul4981 yes, I forgot to torque the o2 sensor. Went to harbor freight and bought a torque wrench and torque it to 35 ft pounds and it doesn’t leak anymore.
@@danielbirch6219 has nothing to do with not doing it right you can never do it right with putty or epoxy stop being a cheap Jew and get it done right at a muffler shop
Blue Magic QuikSteel ThermoSteel is MUCH BETTER than JBWeld!! 2400 degrees F and it really holds!! I've sealed TWO exhaust manifold leaks...one Mountaineer... one Echo!!!
I use muffler cement in a big 16oz tube for $10 bucks. I apply it maybe every oil change, it takes like 3 minutes to do but I need to actually change out my muffler 😂
I used a similar JB Weld paste product plus the jb weld exhaust wrap on a pretty decent size exhaust leak on a ford e350 shuttle bus! It’s still holding hard as a rock even after a trip across Canada!!
Been using this on my header for 10 yrs. Hasn’t failed one time.
Do you think it’ll fix the holes in my manifold ?
@@socastee_5.097just a matter of for how long
@@socastee_5.097 it will smell a lot
You've been using it for 10 years or you used it 10 years ago? If you've been using it for 10 years then it sounds like it's not working.
Great product, sealed my gas fuel gauge on the tiller and lasted for 4yrs now.
Nice tip with the vacuum
I liked your work, we have a great channel
I have used Rutland Furnace cement with excellent results also.
this jb weld high heat works,, after u get this on 24 hrs add regular jb weld over the top n build up a thick area of jb weld

Good product 👍
Great idea using a vacuum cleaner
I don't think so
😂
hey my aftermarket headers came in a 2 piece and it leaks on the joints, would this fix my header exhaust leak?
WE GOT WEIGHTS-N-FISH !👀🤪🎣
Permanent new definition last 5 minutes
thanks for this very informative and helpful video

It sounds about 10% quieter on the "after"
Louder after 😂
its a diesel he had the door open before so you could hear the leak more clearly, its just noisy because its a diesel
Peugeot diesel looks like; always noisier.

Good video. Wonder how long it last
you can use sodium silicate furnace cement last about a year good enough for inspections etc
@@bobbouchee1452 Rutland furnace cement metal to metal?
Sounds better before the bandaid was applied
Good to put over fresh welds for reassurance
say theres a 2/8th inch diameter hole in my exhaust pipe. could i weld that bitch shut by filling the hole?
Do you have any videos on a fiat stilo?
It amazes me how lazy you are
There's a search bar and google if you need videos on specific models problems
Can u use this on extractor?
Yeah brother it works on small extractor leaks this stuff is great
Thanks!
It still has exhaust leaks you can tell from the before and after it should be more quieter and that clamp is the wrong one the repair won't last long
Ok now how do you get it off?
With a grinder or hack saw
by then you're getting a new exhaust or at least a new muffler.
Can you put this around a leaking O2 sensor? I replaced mine and it’s leaking bad.

use furnace cement it will last about a year long enough for inspections and then some cheap to
🤗👍👌
Just have someone cut the ends off the headers and fab some exhaust pipe that fits inside the header and weld it no leaks until the header rots off
Hello collab?
Price is costly better to buy used or new silencer...
Did this... Lasted 2 weeks
Actually it says 1000c and 538 f.
Those are just details man!
Just weld it and be done.
I'd just snap the muffler off at this point. The car will sound better too
Dont hear no different
Chris fix did it first 😂
sounds the same 😂
Don't do it. It's not that expensive to get fixed, go to a local small muffler shop.
Those shops rip people off big time.
ahhh no it cant....its crap
If it’s crap it’s because you haven’t done it right

Temporary job. Rust is there you need to change. Wasting money on adhesives brands . My opinion to replace the broken area.
Terrible advice and complete waste of money.

It will last until you leave your driveway
It's not paste at all . Its runny goo. Might be ok for tiny tiny holes but not a good product
