I’m under dermatologist care for about a year. I do injections every 8 to 10 weeks. I’m on two medications and it’s working. It is a slow process but I am glad I found a black female dermatologist.
Hello What else r u doing? R u taking supplements? Have u switched 2 a plant based diet? What r u washing & conditioning ur hair with? What 2 medications r u taking?
Yes, pray for your hair. Prayer helps. I was diagnosed with CCCA. I just had a biopsy done. My new dermatologist said I have inflammation on my scalp, so she did a biopsy. She wants to start a treatment plan pending the results she finds. I can't wait to hear her treatment plan.
I’m going to cry. I went to a doctor when it was dime sized and she told me she couldn’t help me in 2009. Now it’s 2024, the size of my palm and I’m just always hiding it. I dont even wear fake hair and it’s not getting better. I am so happy I found you! I need my hair back.
Mines to was a process, but massaging my scalp and not putting any oil or grease on it helped alot and using apple cider vinegar or vinegar on the spot then rinsing it out or cloth wetting it.
P.S I was told over 10 years ago that i was severely vitamin D deficient and vitamin B deficient; mutiple B's and I am just now addressing it. I feel ashamed at times. Im thankful 4 alllllll of the tools and information that our Divine Creator, God has made readily available 2 me and am now incorporating in2 my life.
don't feel ashamed!! although i know it can be hard sometimes because I've felt the same way tbh, especially since I waited so long to get it checked out by a professional! One day at a time. I'm working on building a habit of taking my vitamins everyday, my nutrafol and my vitamin D. I've def fallen off.
I found a great natural hair salon this year in Philly named K. Louise Boutique and my stylist name is Marissa, who is amazing. She was concerned that my hair was shorter in my crown area. So I made an appointment with a black dermatologist, had a biopsy and was diagnosed with CCCA. Thankfully I caught it early.
Minoxidil helped me when I couldn’t grow a beard in my earlier days. I used it consistently for about 6 months and got off it but my beard is still here, def was thicker when using though.. Now, fast forwarding, I also have CCCA… it’s an awful feeling.. but, my spot isn’t horrible.. but it hasn’t allowed me to grow my hair out which I miss.. my early 20s I always had a drop fade high top but ever since the spot started thinning I cut it down.. not noticeable at all when my hair is short but I hate having short hair.. I can only imagine how you feel as a woman.. happy for you sis, thanks for sharing your story. I’m def gonna start up minoxidil again to hopefully thicken my spot on my scalp so I can grow my hair out again and not rock a buzz cut the rest of my life
I have a very similar issue!!! my spot won't let me grow out my hair, i can relate to you there. hoping your journey with minoxidil gets you back to the hair you feel most confident in!
Thanks for the video. I currently am doing the same thing you were... Not going to a doctor and trying everything myself with different products. I am scheduling an appointment with a dermatologist TODAY!
Thanks for always sharing your story! I need to go to a professional and be consistent fr! Also - that surrendering piece is always really hard but once we do it everything feels so much better!
Thnx for video- I’m using green tea as a DHT locker that I spritz on the scalp. I’m also taking Fenugreek capsules & Saw Palmetto. Massaging scalp as much as possible & I just started using Allurium Hair Serum - along with meds from dermatologist.
@@thedevindiaries I just came back from the dermatologist today & I want to give you this praise report ( ALL GLORY BELONGS TO THE LORD - MY SAVIOR …none of my own ) she says she sees new follicles growing in the scar tissue. Did you hear what I said ? In the scar tissue where they say the follicles are dead ☠️ once they scar over. She’s amazed never has she seen it before & science & medicine says it’s impossible!! She says it’s going to be slow for that hair to refill but she’s starting to see a few sprouts 🌱 PRAISE THE LORD !!
@@October3074 so I got clobetasol propionate which is a liquid topical and then Doxycycline to help with the inflammation. everyone is different though so definitely ask the experts what's best
I've been using the solution my derm suggested, and taking the oral meds, but I keep resisting the minoxidil because I know once I start it I have to be consistent and can't stop it or I'll most likely lose all the progress. Plus I'd have to stop it anyway if I wanted to have kids because you are not supposed to use it before or during pregnancy. I'm considering a LLLT device, but they are expensive. Maybe during the holiday sale season I can get one.
Ahhh that's very interesting! I haven't heard that. I actually stopped using the rogaine women's foam with minoxidil for a couple months now, I just started being consistent again this week, and I didn't see any loss of progress. I will say though rosemary oil is a great alternative as I've heard it has the same properties as the minoxidil but is natural.
@@thedevindiaries IDK that's what my derm told me. Not that it absolutely would happen but that the chance was very high. How long did you use it before you stopped? The effect does last for a while after stopping, but if you don't resume the chances are high that over time the hair will start to shed as it did before starting the Rogaine.

I use Toppik hair fibers to hide the bald spot. This was a game changer for me.
