Can’t believe a doctor actually says do lifestyle changes first before prescribing drugs. Kudos doc.
What i have learned from the video is that
Get a proper sleep
Reduce stress
Find your blood type and eat according to it
Wash your hair daily with a good anti dandruff shampoo
Try to avoid food which causes inflamation
Keep your gut healthy.
I've tried everything. Started shedding rapidly at 18 then got cancer at 21 and when my hair came back it wall all thin and diffuse. Derm told me it was male pattern baldness and chemo sped it up . I took finaseride for two years and ruined my body and mind. Took over two years to bounce back from that while staying on minoxidil but continuing to shed like crazy. Your videos made me realize I have diffuse alopecia areata that was exacerbated by chemo. I been massaging my scalp daily with rosemary oil and I dunno what changed but my hair has stopped falling out and it's been regrowing and hasn't look this good since before chemo 7 years ago. So I just want to thank you man, this problems been bothering me for over a decade literally . Btw I'm about to turn 30, you've changed my life.
This is amazing the heat , glad you battled and live to tell the tale!!!
Awesome ❤
Great!
Hey congratulations! That’s incredible and I’m sure makes you feel at peace right now. Was his advice to massage rosemary oil? What helped you with the rapid shedding because I’m going through the same thing, it happens day after day and I am lost at what to do :/ I’m a woman, does that matter?
@@momoso143 hello! My recommendation is figure out what triggers the shit (often times it's food and systemic inflammation). I've switched to a mostly meat based diet and it's helped with my gut issues and ultimately my hair (I think it's all connected ). Anyways if you have an autoimmune issue inducing hair loss your best bet is to sort out the underlying cause. The rosemary oil and massage helped blood flow and I think staved off further loss I still do it a few times a week. Another thing you can try (again if its autoimmune) is clobetazol topical steroid. But basically keep it really clean diet wise and then incorporate the massage and do it regularly you should feel the tightness and whatnot subside.
Finally, someone who makes some sense! Thank you..
Your hair is what you eat. Avoid sugar and carbs eat leafy green vegetables. Heal your gut and keep inflamation at bay with IF. Your overall health and hair will thank you. My advice as a lupus patient who is far more healthy now and also has stop my scalp inflamation and my hair thinning and falling out.
How to treat inflammation?
@@talhakhan842the post says heal inflammation with intermittent fasting. I have inflammation and do intermittent fasting as well as occasional 24 to 36 hour fasting but it's not helping my hair
What is IF?
So, you don’t eat any bread or pasta, all the good stuff? Green veggies like spinach, collard greens, Brussels sprouts? Please advise. Because I see some big people eating whatever and have a head full of thick hair which is mystifying.
What’s IF?
I love the fact that your podcasts are helping us Trichologists understand better how to tackle hair issues
You're a trichologist?

I love how real this video is... Healing is a journey, requires accountability and consistency, and often happens in layers... Our bodies are complex but amazing. The mind, heart, and gut are must be in alignment.
Finally!! Some answers! Thank you.
I’ve been on painkillers for 20 years. I don’t take a lot but at least 1-3 every day due to multiple surgeries. I’ve been struggling with hairloss for years. What helps is minoxidil , raw gelatin every day and nutrophol. Massage and use shampoo for dandruff even if u don’t have it. It helps. As a firmer model, I’ve been told I’m beautiful my whole life and at 50 I look great but this hairloss is devestating. I’m fighting tooth and nail to keep what I have. No hair dye and I always made my hair blonde. Hang in there people. It takes time and PATIENCE but it CAN BE REVERSED!!!.
How do you make your hair blonde with no hair dye?
I'm a cosmetologist and I approve this message ❤
@@RavenWolfDrum69 what parts do you approve of
Use a brown linseed poultice on areas of operations as the pain is caused by scar tissue. Put a mug of seeds into a blender witth a mug of boiling water + a knob of butter and blend well. If too stiff add a bit more boiling water. When cooled spread over areas and covet with cling to keep in place or a silky fabric and leave for 8 hours each day for 5 days. 😇. Repeat if necessary.
You’re amazing! Thank you. Please keep sharing knowledge.
Very informative. Thanks for sharing your knowledge.
Thank You soo Much. This is the first time I've heard someone explain this so well
This is SPOT ON. So many of my questions have been answered. Thnq Dr
This is the first time ever I have heard a hair professional give the best info, thanks doc
A few things that actually helped to control my hair fall include: (1) I discontinued wearing hair ties because it causes tension damage. (2) I began massaging my scalp twice a week with liitleextra cocoonnion hair oil while bending over & holding my head inverted to allow blood flow to the scalp. (3) Covering my head while moving out to protect my hair from dust and pollution. (4) Using soft shampoo again from liittleextra only to cleanse my hair.
Go away, bot
Somehow watching this I feel so comforted by watching this video. Thank you for making our problems make sense.
As a licensed cosmetologist , i can tell you , the main two reasons for hair loss in the african american community are
infrequent shampooing which creates fungal overgrowth which causes inflammation
Traction alopecia from braids and hair extensions
And you're right , when you try to inform people how to treat the issue , they push back 😳
That makes sense! How often for shampooing? 43:46
@theweb4deb if you exercise and sweat heavily twice a week ,especially if you're trying to get a scalp condition under control , otherwise , at least once a week
Don't use conditioner especially not on your scalp and shampoo twice with a PH neutral or clarifying shampoo once per week or whenever you get a painful scalp. I used to feel like I had a thousand knife slashes in my scalp, now it's gone. I also used tea tree oil rubbed in scalp before shampoo sometimes.
Excellent video, thank you!!
Hello, please i'm suffering from traction alopecia because of tight braids, is there any treatments i can use? Thank you 🙏🏾🙏🏾
This is the best video I have seen on hair loss. Can’t wait to see more. Thank you so much!
Thank you SO much for taking the time to give us this invaluable information ❤. I will look at the dietary nutritional and stress factors now you gave such helpful pointers. Unfortunately, its really hard to accept that in order to heal oneself, one has to be disciplined. In todays world it is challenging!
Well done. You are doing incredible job to save millions of women like me. Thanks stay blessed all the time .❤
Wow. The Level of Detail information is amazing.
Thank you for the helpful information. Now I know the type of alopecia I have, FFA. Heard of it first time from your video even though I’ve consulted a lot of dermatologist. Thank you
Thank you for the in-depth information!
Very interesting and very relatable vid, really appreciate it, thank you doc
Best dermatologist in whole world ❤
I am gleaning so much from this. During the COVID shelter in place I managed to contract a nasty, nasty bout of pneumonia. I was sick for two solid months and had to be placed on heavy duty antibiotics. Then I had to work in an unfamiliar environment miles from home for two months and then I had to move out of city with little time to even think. It was madness and the stressors were insane!!! I had been dealing with minor hair loss for years, but never thought too much about it, but during this time I noticed extreme sebum build up on my scalp and had that potato chip sized peeling with all of the hair coming off with each “chip”. I was devastated. This is the first time I have heard a dermatologist or trichologist or frankly anybody even mention it. I have been slowly healing but still struggle with inflammation, which is what led me here. Thank you for your wisdom. I’m here for the long haul and have become a subscriber.
This is a very helpful discussion! Thank you.
You have the best and most indepth explanation for hair loss. I've listened to many speak on the subject, you are simply the best. Thank you.

Thanks for this I had alot of stress this year and ended up with A.A. which stressed me out even more. There is alot of great information in this episode. Thanks again 🙏
Update. I had stress and doctor prescribed BP pills. The BP pills caused the actual hair loss. I attributed it to stress but at end of the day it was the treatment which caused the issue not the stress. 3 doctors didn't connect the two. Be aware.
Very informative...thank you so much~!
Amazing info! Thank you. I'd never heard anyone talk before about eating according to your blood type!
Hey man, thanks. Thorough explanations. Appreciated
very useful. esp about kidney and liver detox. I can vouch for that, as when i did something similar with mixed liver and kd cleanse herbs, my hair was so much better within 1 month. i also did scalp massage and used the taoist soap, which is also designed for inflammation on the scalp, to stop hair loss from topical method. anyway thank you for posting!
@iclickster5644+ What is the taoist soap?
@@cristinadriviera8144 it's a soap for Scalp and skin. But helps hair issues. Although works best in a regimen like I mentioned. They only sell on their website but ship worldwide. If it's too expensive for you, you can leave it out, and do the rest of the regimen. Will still help a lot.
This video is gold!!
Agree!
This was very helpful
Thank you
Omg I’m so glad I discovered this page for once seeing someone I feel like I can trust! It’s been horrible I’ve spent so much money trying to fix this issue I am borderline desperate nothing is working from having super thick hair to thin hair. I have an extremely painful scalp. So painful I almost cry during all styling sessions. More recently extremely itchy scalp. I get relieve with anti fungal shampoo.
I had the same painful and itchy scalp too. Solution- remove all carbs and sugar from diet- bingo! It causes inflammation and all that other bad stuff.
What treatments are you doing for thin hair?
@@lilareed2320 + Do you mean fruit too?
@@cristinadriviera8144 When i did KETO redness and symptoms decreased immensely, now that i am doing Carnivore- all symptoms are completely gone. I might add back in some low sugar fruit in a few months and see what happens.
Inflammation is a demon 😮 I had a super itchy dry irritated scalp. It was so bad I had trouble getting to sleep. Half of my hair fell out, My hair finally stopped falling out and my scalp feels much better. Sugar and alcohol are a no no!!
Indeed it is
Very informative video.
Finally a doctor that will agree seborrhea dermatitis causes hair loss!! I can't tell you how many dermatologists told me no it wouldn't. It is causing my eyebrows to fall out over the many years I've struggled with this condition.
Same thing happens to me what can you do about it?
I am finding some relief right now with ketoconazole, I'm using the OTC shampoo and leaving it on the brows for 10 min, so far I'm doing this only one time a week. Then am using the 2% prescription ketoconazole foam every night. I'm noticing the amount of eyebrows falling out is a lot less than before. I think the whole keeping them free of any oils is making a big difference. @@Elementblitz
The thing is: Gaunitz isn't a doctor.
oh oops, the white coat threw me off. Well he knows more about these conditions than my dermatologist does. @@chairmankresskov6501

thanks for all the information. Suffered from alopecia areata for 10+ years. In the past i’ve had seborrheic dermatitis on the scalp, also tinea versicolor. My aa has always been severely itchy, I went to an allergist many years ago and asked if severe allergies were related to aa and she said they had no relation. Still working on trying to control the inflammation.

William I am a 71 yo female. I for sure have inflammation hair loss, my scalp itches a lot and I have hair loss on top and the sides and a little on the nape. I will say I have more hair loss on top and the sides. I will say you are the most informative hair specialist/Trichologist I have ever seen on CZcams and I appreciate that. I do not know my blood type but going off of your testing I determined I have the inflammation type. So I bought your shampoo and conditioner foligrowth, I do wash my hair every 48 hours. I have had some calming of the itching scalp and some decrease in hair loss but not completely.
I’m confused about the FoliGrowth because on the bottle it says to leave on overnight, but I think I n one of your other videos you say to rinse out after so long.
My last question is should I also be using the DHT BLOCKER? On your website for the inflammation hair loss it wasn’t shown to purchase. I’m very grateful to have found you on CZcams. I am so hoping you see this and will answer my 2 questions😊
Thank you!

I am somewhat convinced that when my crown started thinning 20 years ago started from inflammation, it was mostly part to be being cheap in having a tight ponytail I used elastic bands you get in the mail to tie it up and pull out a bunch of hair when I went to shower. In my panic, a doctor prescribed Monoxidile. I took it for long periods of time being told the shedding would stop and my hair would come back strong as I caught it early. But it only kept falling. I stop for a year or two and was told by a dermatologist my crown looked red and inflamed, but he did not say if that was the issue or gave me any treatment for the inflammation. I was not happy with the how exposed my hair was, started again and whatever hair was left over in the crown is now totally gone. I was concerned about the rest of my hair as now my temples thinned out, so I too Finasteried, did it for a year and the same small amount of hairs kept falling out, nothing got stronger. So I stopped after 2 years, and my hair has stabilized, yet I still have itching in my crown. I think I do have thinning hair, yet at 42, the front part of my head of hair looks good if I was truly balding. And since I have recently been diagnosed with eczema in different places of my body and steroid cream helped me a lot, maybe try some tiny bit of it on my crown and temple and see what happens then, cause nothing else worked.
Try eating more Garlic....Good Luck

Hi doctor!!! I have an important question.. How can I keep my hair while being on testosterone replacement. I feel terrible without my hormone replacement. But lost half my hair over the last 2 years from too high DHT. I bought your DHT blocker and I bought your topical melatonin and your topical other product.. do you ever recommend people using midoxicile. I hear it’s life long.
My D3 level is 80.. ferritin 102.. so I’m good there
It's interesting that mentioned sunflower seed oil. I discovered that and other vegetable oils to be the main cause of my acne. Once I cut it out, my skin cleared up in a couple of days. And whenever I eat a lot of processed or restuarant foods, the first sign of something going bad is my acne starts to come back.
Could you do a video on Frontal fibrosing alopecia please?
I started losing hair with my restrictive eating patterns. It all began in 2020. I would eat no more than 500 calories a day and mostly avoided carbohydrates, which also caused inflammation from high cortisol, which in turn gave me acne and hormonal issues. Once I started improving my diet, things began going back to normal mostly. Oh, and stress was also a huge factor!
😊
This is true. I had to reduce inflammation before my hair would grow. Your supplements really helped
What supplement can you list please
Can you tell us ?
Thank you for your video/podcast. I have hypo thyroid and Hashimoto disease. Recently my thyroid has been stressed and I started losing my hair again. Where does the thyroid fall in all the reasons hair comes out. Do thyroid issues make you have inflammation in your scalp? If the thyroid acts up can you use Rosemary on the scalp to keep the hair from falling out?
This make a lot of sense to me
I have collitas and often spend a long time In the bathroom😉
Any suggestion to stop hair Getting worse?
Hello. I just came across your video tonight. It was so enlightening. Great information.
Something i noticed that you never mentioned, and that is hair breakage. My hair has been breaking non-stop, every day for the last 7 months. It came out of nowhere! I've lost at least 6 or 7 layers of my hair from SEVERE BREAKAGE. It is so short and thin. I always had a nice head of hair. I've been to 2 different Dermatologists, and one hair loss specialist. She says I have AGA. But she really didnt address tge breakage. She recommends oral Minoxidil and Clobesatal ointment. I refused the Minoxidil because of the dread shed that happens. I have been using the Clobesatal every now and then. I realize if my hair keeps breaking like this, i coukd go bald! Im terrified. Im stressed out. This is so alarming. Ive tried EVERYTHING! Please can you help me out?? Thanks in advance. By the way, im late 60's.
This was excellent. Please give link for purchasing your products.
One more comment: If my hair loss is due to inflammation and I washed it everyday I would have no hair at this point. I'm in hair loss hell.
Yo… great video!

William, I have a question about the Nutra m hair serum ,is it absorbed really well? A doctor I go to for hair loss, doesn’t like topical solutions. He doesn’t think they are absorbed well.
I have been dealing with hair loss for 6 years now. And still, I'm being told it's just normal balding. But the itchiness of it isn't normal. I have to wash my hair frequently because my natural oils cause the itching. The only thing to work in growing my hair back and controlling the itching is Certirizine (an allergy medication). just taking Finestride doesn't stop the itch. I have no obvious scalp lesions or flacks. the medicated shampoos didn't work. I'm confused. My father is bald, but he didn't itch aggressively. i am now gluten intolerant and gut sensitivity has gone through the roof.
