I have seen him at the DFB Pokal game vs Hoffenheim this year live in the stadium. I had 3 guys from the US with me, whatching football for the first time in a stadium and also for them it was the first complete game they ever whatched. They didn't know much about the sport but all of us, including me, couldn't take our eyes off of him. There where players like Lewandowski, Müller, Gnabry and Neuer on the pitch, but this young guy just caught our attention all the time.
Now, all I can hope for, is that he never gets a bigger injury. If he stays healthy, he will be one of the greats. I have no doubt in his motivation and I am very sure, that he will stay a humble guy.
I remember when he got the move to Bayern from Vancouver, so many MLS fans doubted him, saying he'll be a flop and a Freddy Adu 2.0. But us whitecaps fans knew what a special talent he was

Not just the kid from Canada. The kid from Edmonton, who know a name bigger than Connor McDavid would come out of this city (biggest hockey player atm) I'm from the same city as Alphonso & he's been a beacon for so many kids that it is possible to become a pro footballer & develop your talents here. Canada imo has so many hidden gems just waiting to be unearthed.

There are so many hidden gems in Canada I’m pretty sure alot of kids grow up playing soccer here. everyone says hockey’s is the sport here but I’m pretty sure more kids are enrolled in soccer here then hockey just cause it’s less expensive and simple I grew up playing both but soccer was always the one I loved the most and I remember all the talent there’s no where to go after house soccer but now we got the cpl so expect bigger things
