someone does not need fancy graphics for an awesome game. Generals still my altime favourite with or without the mods and i love playing OpenRA aswell. Chrososphere and Iron Curtain are finaly usefull in OpenRA. RA 1 in Generals would be fun with chronosphere and iron curtain. ;-)
Sorry for the delay, it's difficult to keep track with the notification spam on CZcams nowadays. You can try Grey Goo, Halo Wars 2 is coming out soon that also lets you construct units I believe. Stellaris is an awesome RTS 4x space game with great graphics. Hearts of Iron IV is a great improvement over HoI3 and there's the remaster of Homeworld and the new Homeworld games.
I heard about a Generals mod for Red Alert 3 it looked promising it looked great and paired with RA3 AI since is pretty good compared to other CnC games (it actually retreats when overrun or notices base defenses , retreats aircrafts if it notices AA defenses and searches a safe spot to strike where AA can't reach it etc) but i don't know anything more about this mod if its finished or not if its working or not
meh i think that cnc is dead for sure which will happen to other franchises in the future for sure if they remain under EA i still dont know how fans are so stupid to buy their games
No they cancelled it because EA dont like Free 2 Play games, it wont make them money. So they revive the franchise, make it into a Mobile Game so many Mobile Gamers will play and pay for hte microtransaction. It will be a Pay 2 win model

To be honest I only played this cause of the GLA and the way all the buildings were constructed, Realistic and modern. Just watching GLA buildings being constructed piece by piece was just satisfying. I hope theres a mod that makes base building realistic.

The developers were in close contact with these alpha players and it looked like the end-goal was in sight. Then randomly EA shut the whole thing down, giving a strange reason saying "We are not making the game you are hoping for, so why continue?" At this stage, that statement was simply untrue. Some developers (who had somewhat befriended a few of the alpha players) let slip that it was an "internal political conflict" of the company. Perhaps they had violated some law? Or the company was fed up of projects going over budget, and they wanted to make an example out of Victory Games? Or the project manager pissed off the CEO? No one knows the exact truth. One bizarre thing though is that they scrapped the whole department and fired everyone in it. There have been vague (unreliable) rumours that a new C&C is in the making, or at least planned. If there's a limit on how far you can build your base then it's not true to the original Generals. That was one of the things I felt I enjoyed most, the ability to sneak a construction dozer near their base and build production facilities. They also seem to be a bit cartoonish, which is what makes me not like Red Alert 3. I remember back in the days with Red Alert, and it was never over the top cartoonish or too sci-fi, it was always a feeling of realism, to some degree. Not everything was high-tech and futuristic too, that was limited to the experimental units you had to work to get. Now everything seems to becoming sci-fi and futuristic, and it ends up drowning out the unique nature of high level units.

tbh im pretty happy, that this game wasn't released... Buildings look boring, unit movement is too static and they only move in certain angles. Looks more like a Red alert 4 with a little more seriousness. Not worth to be called a Command and Conquer.

Origin has "ultimate collection" command and conquer (17 games at a prettu good price and contains all cnc games up to kanes wrath) I play it perfectly on my computer with windows 10. This looks amazing and sound amazing, in that regard i love it. The Problem is that it looks too futuristic for a Generals game. A proper new Generals game would be using modern and actual tech and maybe just maybe some beta weapons from USA or China; real places would be awesome too. But... i just hope this game someday have a Remake with Frostbite or a better engine; because Frostbite sucks in Battlefield games, so many bugs. There's a way to play this beta? Can someone share the executable?
This game had some problems. I can't stand how 6 wheel vechials can turn 180s and have no turning time. The helicopters move like there 2D images. The time is set so far into the future that it might as well be red alert 4. The appeal for CNC generals was the "modern" aspect of current military hardware.
Like Lasertanks? Microwaves that hurt everyone which is not your ally except if they are in a vehicle? EMP-Rays, hacking missiles mid-air too change targetposition? Med-Vehicle that neutralizes radioactive fallout in a second?
@@bilib1891 Yeah Zero Hour especially was near-future-esque. So thats not the probblem, I think its because the Generals '2' units look so generic. The Zero Hour units were very cool and unique, the Anthrax and Radiation systems are not in any other RTS. Laser and Microwave tanks are unique, EMP rocket batteries too. ECM's and Avengers were also very cool and added alot to the gameplay, they werent just there for the sake of it.

No, but generals should be generals, it shouldn't be made to be like the tiberium universe. I liked how in generals everything was based off of early 2000s military tech with a small amount of advanced sci-fi tech and original unit concepts thrown in the mix (like the laser tanks/patriots and EMP patriots etc) but most of the stuff in generals wasn't sci-fi. Early 2000s and 90s stuff was cool so I like how most things in the game were based off that time period.

My Opinion: Looks more like star craft 2 both in the sense of animation and building designs. In general, the movement of vehicle has a certain weight to it, the way it move, taking corners and stuff. though i do appreciate the graphical effect, it's somewhat still lacking. If somehow they develop this further, wish they would try to incorporate as many aspect of the first Gen 1 instead of making something different.

you know what would be fucking sick and most likely a sure win. C&C generals, with updated graphics like this but with todays armies. F22 raptors, Apaches, suicide bombers, B-52's, B-1's, air craft carriers, submarines, migs etc. All modern day options, that are relevant to each army. Upgrade options. Just make a C&C game that isn't futuristic, has good base building mechanics, and nice graphics, maybe use the frostbite engine so you can have destructible environments. Options for skirmish by yourself, online versus, and a single player campaign for each faction. Not too long but not too short either. Also maybe some dynamic environments like battlefield 4 which change the map. Playable factions: Russia USA France UK ISIS (or similar) Al Queda (or similar) Japan China Instead of commandos, have their special forces as small groups. E.G. GIGN, SEAL TEAM, SAS, ISIS and shit can have lone wolves etc. Its not that hard. Now start building it you bastards!!
explain to me in a logical reason it's bad? I basically took the gameplay mechanics from C&C and other titles and merged them. If you look at the reasons as to why Generals was so popular it was because of those. And with modern day gameplay additions adds to the longevity.
Excellent idea, you think like me: modern war. This is what define the Generals. This "Generals 2" shitty seens like a cartoon childlike with 2D mechanics. Even the previously Generals mechanics is better. Thank goodness it was cancelled. I would only replace the ISIS/Al Qaeda faction by the GLA to follow the original lore as sequence of the Generals 1.

This is a few years late, but Homeworld Deserts of Kharak is a amazing RTS game with a very good story, hell, the whole Homeworld series is amazing

Really dear EA, just look around, seems like Eugen Systems gave up on Act of Aggression, Deserts of Kharak was a huge flop and Halo Wars 2 is going nowhere, so, I really think at this point you have become our last hope for a RTS revival, you have managed to show with Battlefield 4 and Battlefield 1 that you can still be awesome and listen to the fans, please, before Joe Kucan and the malboro guy from the trailers get too old. please?
They actually patched Act of Aggression, so it multiplayer now uses only one resource and some other things were fixed.

tbh im pretty happy, that this game wasn't released... Buildings look boring, unit movement is too static and they only move in certain angles. Looks more like a Red alert 4 with a little more seriousness. Not worth to be called a Command and Conquer.
I can see the issue here, that the movement of units are not as organic as c &c generals.

Origin has "ultimate collection" command and conquer (17 games at a prettu good price and contains all cnc games up to kanes wrath) I play it perfectly on my computer with windows 10. This looks amazing and sound amazing, in that regard i love it.
The Problem is that it looks too futuristic for a Generals game. A proper new Generals game would be using modern and actual tech and maybe just maybe some beta weapons from USA or China; real places would be awesome too. But... i just hope this game someday have a Remake with Frostbite or a better engine; because Frostbite sucks in Battlefield games, so many bugs.

This game had some problems. I can't stand how 6 wheel vechials can turn 180s and have no turning time. The helicopters move like there 2D images. The time is set so far into the future that it might as well be red alert 4. The appeal for CNC generals was the "modern" aspect of current military hardware.
Like Lasertanks? Microwaves that hurt everyone which is not your ally except if they are in a vehicle? EMP-Rays, hacking missiles mid-air too change targetposition? Med-Vehicle that neutralizes radioactive fallout in a second?

@@bilib1891 Yeah Zero Hour especially was near-future-esque. So thats not the probblem, I think its because the Generals '2' units look so generic. The Zero Hour units were very cool and unique, the Anthrax and Radiation systems are not in any other RTS. Laser and Microwave tanks are unique, EMP rocket batteries too. ECM's and Avengers were also very cool and added alot to the gameplay, they werent just there for the sake of it.

This looked bad anyways I'm glad they cancelled it....looks NOTHING like the CNC Generals universe. This looks like a reskinned Red Alert 3, it's way too Sci-Fi and futuristic...... I'm a hardcore Generals fan, I've been playing Generals for 13 years and I really think this looked like shit.

No, but generals should be generals, it shouldn't be made to be like the tiberium universe. I liked how in generals everything was based off of early 2000s military tech with a small amount of advanced sci-fi tech and original unit concepts thrown in the mix (like the laser tanks/patriots and EMP patriots etc) but most of the stuff in generals wasn't sci-fi. Early 2000s and 90s stuff was cool so I like how most things in the game were based off that time period.

My Opinion: Looks more like star craft 2 both in the sense of animation and building designs. In general, the movement of vehicle has a certain weight to it, the way it move, taking corners and stuff. though i do appreciate the graphical effect, it's somewhat still lacking. If somehow they develop this further, wish they would try to incorporate as many aspect of the first Gen 1 instead of making something different.

C&C generals, with updated graphics like this but with todays armies. F22 raptors, Apaches, suicide bombers, B-52's, B-1's, air craft carriers, submarines, migs etc. All modern day options, that are relevant to each army. Upgrade options.
Just make a C&C game that isn't futuristic, has good base building mechanics, and nice graphics, maybe use the frostbite engine so you can have destructible environments. Options for skirmish by yourself, online versus, and a single player campaign for each faction. Not too long but not too short either.
Also maybe some dynamic environments like battlefield 4 which change the map.
Playable factions:
Russia
USA
France
UK
ISIS (or similar)
Al Queda (or similar)
Japan
China
Instead of commandos, have their special forces as small groups. E.G. GIGN, SEAL TEAM, SAS, ISIS and shit can have lone wolves etc.

explain to me in a logical reason it's bad? I basically took the gameplay mechanics from C&C and other titles and merged them. If you look at the reasons as to why Generals was so popular it was because of those. And with modern day gameplay additions adds to the longevity.
Excellent idea, you think like me: modern war. This is what define the Generals. This "Generals 2" shitty seens like a cartoon childlike with 2D mechanics. Even the previously Generals mechanics is better. Thank goodness it was cancelled. I would only replace the ISIS/Al Qaeda faction by the GLA to follow the original lore as sequence of the Generals 1.
