- Oak and maple writing desk with steel leg. It's in the same room as the oak bed. Tung oil finish tinted with oil art paint. The final layer is tung oil with carnauba wax.

Especially impressive is the grain matching of the drawer fronts balanced with the scalloped quarter sawn sides. Craftsmanship is excellent and the eclectic music pleases this musician's ears. "Good on ya, Mate" as the Aussies say.
At one point I was thinking that the stain was a bit too dark, and I wasn't quite sure about the metal legs, but the final result is beautifully balanced and proportional. Great work!

The fluting on the desk sides looked masterful! Excellent work. I have found that using paste wax on sliding dovetails makes fitting them together a bit easier.
If I may beg to differ, it is more recommended to use paraffin wax if you really want it to slide- as in drawers. There is also talc in solid form- an excellent lubricant, used instrument making.
Good taste in wood. Good taste in tools and techniques. Good taste in Music (the Bach Air on a G string finishes off this very nice piece in a beautiful contemplative mood).

That contrasting grain pattern on the top front board is an interesting touch. Personal signature? I agree with many others on here that the cupped detail looks amazing-- you have superb control of your chisel for those (such craftsmanship is certainly not in my future!). I'm a retiree who butchers and tortures wood with the best of intentions ("the road to Hell is paved with good..."). Apparently, though, there is no Hippocratic Oath for woodworking "First: Do no harm." So, I'm kinda safe... (wood isn't). Anyway, it's always a pleasure watching a master craftsman performing his magic.
