Woo, Dr. Mario! I love how both it and Tetris have some form of ending; the surprise from people who think they're endless, it's like it rekindles that interest in them both. Ha ha, that laughing Duck Hunt dog. Popeye for the spinach! I mean win. lol
6:12 the first time I played this one I kept thinking “ok it’s fine.” And then the more I play it, the more I enjoy going through it. And the multiple endings is a great feature.
That Excitebike crash SFX was on point😂. Your #1 was actually the first video game I remember ever playing when I was a kid lol. Me and my parents loved that one too, very underrated.
I remember getting so hooked on Tetris in late 90’s or 2000 as freshman or sophomore in high school, really playing it in full on the Game Boy Color. I’d play it in my sleep, and also I’d stack blocks on the heads of whatever actor/actress I was watching on tv for a brief while. Kind of alarming looking back, but as a young teen I basically was like “eh, whatever”. Never got so obsessed with a puzzle game (not my fav genre) before or since, although N64 Tetrisphere came kinda close…
I got re-hooked on dr. mario during old school april. A similar puzzle game I vaguely remember from NES is yoshi's cookie. A lot of my faves are on your list, but I would have to add Adventure Island. Rygar was also a favorite back in the day, and of course, Zelda
Solid list lady! Man I spent so many hours with Dr Mario and Tetris on the Game Boy, DuckTales on the NES and Game Boy….FANTASTIC! SMB3, oh yes! And Popeye, that’s gonna be one for some people out there lol….very cool vid!
I've heard lots of great things aboot Popeye for a while. I'll have to make it my next NES pickup! I would put Batman, Monster Party and Castlevania on my list. Awesome video as always!
I just turned 48. Its so wild to remember playing the Black box games in the arcade as VS series, Harder versions of Duck Hunt, SMB and Excitebike were fascinating as a kid. It was cool to finally get the games at home a year or two later. Popeye was cool in the arcade, I used to like the atari 2600 version.
@@LindaTheGAMERGal I remember when Popeye came out on NES that I was surprised it was so close to the arcade. I miss those arcade games even though I live close to one of the largest pinball places in the united states. Still not the same though
Yeah, it was awesome to have an awesome port of an arcade classic. I guess that is why arcades in other places, like Japan are the go to now because they are still close to how it was back in the day.
Popeye was quite a surprise. I love the arcade game. I’ve played it a ton on arcade but never played the NES version. Thought it was going to be Zelda for #1
Didn't play Zelda growing up. Didn't understand what Link needed to do to rescue Zelda in the first game. I still need to go back and play through the first NES Zelda game.
Great list! Makes me want to play NES!! You should give Mario 2 another chance. It's actually a really fun game. It's a really tough call between 3 & world. I say 3 is my favorite Mario Bros. Game and world is my favorite Mario game not named Super Mario Bros.
Super Mario Bros 3 pushed the NES to the limits and was the link between console generations (well, for me anyway!) My favourite NES game would be a toss up between the first Zelda game (for obvious reasons) or quite bizarrely, California Games which although absolutely terrible to play today, gripped me as a youth. It's odd because games have become almost throwaway today thanks to streaming / online services. As a kid, I only ever had about 2 or 3 games at a time, so I would love them all equally and play them to death.
@LindaTheGAMERGal I agreed with most of your list. I need to check out duck tales, I loved that show. I agree about the Mario's too, I like 1&3. I remember when Super Mario 2 came out it was so different people either loved it or... didn't play it 😅. Also, idk if it's true but I heard that Popeye was supposed to be the face of NES instead of Mario but there was a copyright issue! Imagine Super Popeye Land? Lol
Great list, I figured Zelda would be #1 but your actual choice is pretty interesting. If you never played vs Excitebike, I highly recommend it. It was a sequel to the original that we never got that came out on the Famicom disk system, but switch online has it.
Always fun to see top ten list and always interesting Legend of Zelda is my top NES game . I was 26 when Zelda came out and already had about a decade of home console gaming experience it was so different new and exciting 😊
Solid list! The Guardian Legend is one of my favorites, its hard to find over here in Europe, but I got lucky a while back with an Italian PAL B copy. At some point I'll have to procure a modified AV Famicom or something like that to play American NES games at the right speed!
Popeye is so so fun and I am glad someone else gives it respect! Give Popeye's English Play for the Famicom a look too... Popeye gameplay combined with Hangman!
Cool list, a lot of unexpected picks. A NES game I loved growing up but doesn't get enough love was a game called Code Name: Viper. It's a Capcom game so you know it's solid. Check it out next time you dive into the NES library.
2 was my least favorite until I recently replayed it. It's kinda cool how each character has a unique ability and you can get health upgrades. It's almost like the first iteration of mario rpg in a way. I hope you enjoy playing it, let me know your thoughts 😄
Good luck, bringing kids.played the old games.my son and my wife don't liked those graphics.but i still liked them.trying get my wife watch me playing old ff7 on ps1.she watch the new remake thats it.mostly kids played online.
@@LindaTheGAMERGalI see. So if you get certain amount of points when it’s game over, you get to see one of a few endings depending on how high your score is.

Hell yeah foe Excitebike! Nice! Glad our family was not the only ones playing Popeye as a family.
NES was my 2nd console after the Intellivision. I still love playing many of the games to this day.
Yaaasssssss!
Same! I remember playing shark, shark, lock n chase, nightcrawler, bump n jump, dungeons and dragons...loved it

Adventure Island is a classic that I found later in life. Awesome picks.
the good old days. so much memories with these old games 😍🥲

Cool games, Linda! Duck Hunt looks fun. 🦆 Awww 🥰, Duck Tales. 😊
I have all those games. I love the Popeye game as well. I have it on the NES, but I originally played it on the Atari 2600 back in the day.
The Super Mario Bros games are amazing. And I used to have so much fun playing duck hunt as a kid. Tetris is a classic. Great list

No, I am just going to play the game for myself.

Dr. Mario on Game Gear? Hoo boy, not at all, a Nintendo IP would not appear on a Sega console, or handheld.
Only played ninja turtles first one,ff1,super Mario 1,2,3
Those are great games.
dr. mario is on Game Gear?
I don’t think Tetris has an ending.
Yes it does and you can look up the mode and ending on CZcams.
I looked it up now and it says it doesn’t have an ending. It just has a kill screen on level 157 which causes the game to crash.
So...there is an end to the game. Plus the game has a mode for the Gameboy has an ending.
