- The @gowilsoncombat EDC-X9 L is an amazing pistol. Last September I reviewed the smaller 4 inch barrel version and loved it. This larger sibling did not disappoint. We take a look at the @gowilsoncombat EDC X9 L in two videos. Part 1 is a look at the pistol and Part 2 is a look under the hood. What do you think of this pistol? The EDC and FX9 series of pistols are the best firearms ever conceived or produced in my humble opinion. I have 7 Wilson’s (5 traditional 1911’s and 2 EDC X9’s and a Nighthawk Bull .45). I am in the process of selling all of my other guns, keeping my Wilson’s and Nighthawk and ordering the 4” and 5” SFX9’s, for me, no other guns are needed!

Yes, I have a number of WC and I carry to of my SFX9's all the time. I may carry this occasionally
I carry my EDC X9S but with the 15rd magazine it is bigger than expected. Never had an issue or malfunction. I think YT has an issue with the actual take down step. Today's video I described the next step how to take down, then magically it was apart, so we will see.

Thanks for sharing this close-up of the EDC X9 XL (and your companion Part 2). I've been looking at this gun, but haven't found the need to replace or supplement my original EDC X9. The longer sight radius is an advantage for precisions shooting, but not really necessary, as my EDC X9 will hit an 8" plate at 50 yards all day.
To answer your question, I would carry a $3K gun, and I have carried my EDC X9. I purchased it pre-owned and paid substantially less than $3K for it, but it's still worth the price of about 5 Glocks. I shoot it better than any of my Glocks, so I carry what I shoot best.

Part two uploaded about half hour after part one. So both videos are up right now. I have always believed that you should carry the pistol which you shoot the best regardless of price. If a $3000 gun is the one who shoot the best and God for bid you have to use it to save your life, then it was $3000 very well spent. Thank you for your kind words and for taking the time to watch.

I don't know man. Personally I'd carry a $30k gun if I knew it was going to save my life and only be a one time use. I certainly get your point, but when I'm thinking about saving my ass, money is no object

To answer your question at the end, would I carry a $3,000 gun? Well, as the Affordable Armory, I wanna say no, but everyone’s definition of affordable is different. So I will say yes, I would, but only if there wasn’t a less expensive gun that I could shoot as accurately and with the same or better reliability.

The 4” EDC X9 is my daily carry gun. Sometimes I take something else, but the vast majority of the time it’s the EDC X9.

How is it is it easy to carry compare to the edc x9l?
@@baba10ye I carry on my hip so it’s only a little more barrel if you carry the X9L. If you carry appendix the longer barrel might be less comfortable, though.

Thanks for your detailed review and good shooting. Had heard the the grip was very large on this wc. Had the opportunity several weeks back to hold this and the acp 5”. Maybe the edc had a smaller grip module installed but it felt more comfortable in my hands. It was priced 300 or $400 more than the acp but it did have more features.

Well good for you. For me however just 1 is a fourth of the money I live on for a year, since soc. security is all I have . I'm 80yrs old so I don't even have a way to protect myself. I eat 1small meal a day

@@bobhennig6597 😊 absolutely my friend COVID has impacted people in so many ways we lost our mom at the height of the pandemic (not due to COVID) but not being able to see her and help her fight was heartbreaking… makes us realize what’s really important but I’m glad we have this gun community - we can call our own and enjoy speaking to like minded people.

I realize they are different animals, but I'm curious if the Wilson stacks up at all.

I own one of these weapons mine does not have the light rail . As far as every day carry NO way . Wilson combat is a very nice weapon you get what you pay for exactly .

Same as carrying a 7 thousand dollar wedding ring, or carrying around a 4 thousand dollar laptop around. Of course it's worth it's weight in gold to carry around this pistol to protect myself an love one's with

I am curious as to your opinion on this one as compared to the Phoenix Redback regarding recoil, trigger, precision and general feeling of quality.
I think the Wilson can be used in more tasks than the Redback. The ladder is designed for competition and or home defense.
@@MDpolo OK, my mistake - I failed to be specific and write that it's for competition only. The precision would be super in both guns, so I suppose what I'm really asking about is the trigger and the recoil, as I have no possibility of trying any of the guns before buying.

Hey polo, does that extended mag make for a full grip feel? Ive heard the grip is comparable to a glock 19 which is a little small for me in length. Thank you Sir.
It does for me. I have medium size hands and it fits me perfect with plenty of room.

I've been carrying 1911s for over 30 years. He speaks of a gun like this hard to conceal. It is not. I have all 3 frame sizes spread across 6 different models. The type of holster you choose makes a huge difference on carrying a full size 1911 comfortably. Pick the wrong one and you will hate it. Really the only hard thing about carrying any 1911 is choosing which one to carry. No disrespect to the man speaking in the video but I get the feeling he regularly carries small guns. That's ok. That's why we have so many choices. Everything is not fir everybody. I appreciate the review. I love WC 1911s
@John Delvisco Smaller guns work for me. With the way my body is built, I have a hard time concealing a full-size firearm on a daily basis. But again, my videos are what works for me. Thank you very much for stopping by and for your comment. I really appreciate it.

I wonder if Mr. Wilson is aware that questions sent to customer service go ignored? That the statement on his web page stating that if a customer has any problems and or questions all they have to do is to contact customer service turns out to be a bunch of BS? I bought a Super Sniper a month ago. On the third magazine a factory round jammed in the chamber, the BCG became frozen within the upper. I sent one email the first week, then another email the following week. That was three weeks ago and I've yet to receive a response. I realize issues happen within all types of manufacturing, but what I DO NOT understand is when a consumer invests $3,500 on what is billed as a premium AR10, encounters a major issue on the first outing to the range and is then left to spend MORE money to pay a gunsmith to solve the issue. I wonder if Mister Wilson knows this is happening in that department. Does he care? Are concepts like "Honor", "Integrity" and "Fidelity" REAL to him, or are they merely words to be spoken, then discarded when convenient?
I’m very surprised by your experience. I haven’t had the need to contact their customer service very often because frankly my problems with their products have been few. But frankly, the times that I have reached out to them were very positive experiences. I’ve never tried to email them, I just picked up the phone and called them. Have you tried that? When I called them regarding an issue, the front desk didn’t just transfer me to a “customer service representative“ - they transferred me directly to the gunsmith that works on those guns. He told me what to do and the issue was resolved. Important to note is that I did not receive “special treatment“ because I’m a gun channel. I contacted them under my real name. They have no idea that I have a gun channel. Try calling them. Thank you very much for watching!
I call them frequently and even speak to gun smiths when needed. Great customer service, even when ordering parts.
I call BS. I have dealt with WC customer service many times - they are the best in the biz. Easy to get ahold of, and they always have a gusmith or other expert available either immediately - or with a quick call back.
If you have to defend your life, better do it in style (and not worry about your X9 ending up in an evidence locker)

Beautiful firearm. However, I would never carry a $3,000 firearm.
Even if it is totally justified, in a shooting, a firearm will likely be confiscated, and who wants to lose $3,000.
Many folks share that opinion and I wouldn't like to see a $3K gun end up being tossed into a pile of guns in a police property room. However, I carry the gun that I shoot best in combat-style scenarios, regardless of the cost of the gun, as my life, and the lives of my loved ones, far exceeds the cost of any gun.
I echo the statements from +Rider’s-Range. If the pistol that I shoot the best is $3000, then I will carry a $3000 pistol. God for bid the time comes when I have to use it to defend my life - then the $3000 were very well spent. Thank you very much for watching!
