1: Man City 17/18 (100 points and 106 goals scored) 2: Chelsea 04/05 (Only let in 15 goals, during a period where there were loads of top attacking players in the PL). 3: Arsenal 03/04 (zero defeats). Obviously PL only, not including cups.
Good point about how they got knocked out of EVERY other trophy. By last few weeks they literally had nothing else to focus on while Chelsea won the League Cup and made the UCL semis the next season with a far better record outside of a freak loss against a penalty vs City
I think they are 100% up there but don’t get me wrong there have been some great teams, United 08, City Centurions, Liverpool League Winners. So it’s definitely close
Of course nowadays because football has advanced to a new level, United’s 99 treble team was great but current Brighton would wipe them off the park, the best teams back then wouldn’t be able to handle an aggressive press or defend against an intelligent build up scheme

I think it’s honestly the difference between having a top three team, and having a top three season. If you look at the team, they are not. But if you look at the season that they had then, yes, it’s a top three season. I think it sits just behind Man Utd winning the treble and City winning with the century of points and just ahead of Leicester winning the league. But you wouldn’t call Leicesters team that season a top 5 or even 10 PL team
@@jamesshaw1162 With respect, I don't think that's true, from the abramovich money era to now the big teams have only gotten bigger and the gulf between the top and bottom is far wider. The lower winning points tallies reflect this, The playing field saw Fulham with Saha bagging goals, shearer at Newcastle, Forssell at Birmingham, Yakubu at Pompei, all bagging goals. Every team then was dangerous on their day. 11 different teams had players with over 14 goals. Whilst these don't necessarily show a teams average over year, it does show how hard it was then to not lose a single game. Arsenal are often criticised for drawing 12 that year by people who forget that '99 treble United drew even more in their league win
@CowboyOrangeSoda I don't see how that is true, look at the money teams spend now, even at the bottom of the table teams are spending over 100m, never before has that happened, and no one praises the 99 team for how they won the league but that they were the first English side to win a treble
There’s a strong argument that they might not even be in the top 5 United 99 & 08 City’s treble & centurions Chelsea in the 04/05 season. I think most non arsenal fans wouldn’t argue to strongly with that, going unbeaten is a great achievement but for me the season involves all the competitions rather than just the league when we discuss things like ‘greatest teams’. To be able to fight on all fronts and succeed in winning those competitions as well as the league rather than just being strong in the league is considerably more difficult. United 99 & 08 and City’s treble for me are the top three, in no order. Chelsea’s 04/05 were so dominant and more difficult to play against. If you conceded against them the best you could hope for was a draw because scoring twice felt almost impossible. Obviously you could make that same claim about Arsenal as they didn’t loose but they didn’t feel as dominant as that Chelsea side imo. City’s centurions is the highest points total we’ve had although I would argue the premier league was more competitive across the division during arsenals invincibles compared to the centurion season. Maybe they make top 5 but no chance top 3.
I agree, Man City consider a draw a loss nowadays....Arsenal drawing 15 or whatever games wouldn't be enough to win the league over City Who wants to draw? It's all about winning
As far as I'm concerned the quad is thr ultimate, followed by the treble, followed by league and CL double, then league and domestic cup. 1 trophy in a season can't be considered the best ever.
It's true tho... in no particular order: United '99 United '08 City '19 City '23 (if they win atleast ucl+prem) You could even argue that it wasn't even Arsenal best ever premier league team.
100% true the idea of invisibles is so flawed. You could go a season unbeaten get 38pts and be relegated. Like all title winning teams they were brilliant but nothing about them puts them above treble UTD, Joses Chelsea, Klopps Liverpool or any of Peps City teams.
Nothing unthinkable in that - there is a case for each of City 100, United treble, Chelsea 05 teams to be in the conversation. It's not a debate worth wasting time on personally but the opinion is not outrageous or anything like they reacted.
90 points, 26 wins and 12 draws and Arsene Wenger literally said before the season started that they would go Invincibles, they may not be the best ever PL team but they definitely are in the top 3, all other talk is absolutely rubbish
Just because of that stupid promise they threw away 3 competitions to focus on 1 which wouldn't be acceptable in today's world but was glorified in those days. And how can a team that lost 7 games that season be considered invincibles? And no point in saying it's about the league if that's the case why don't they forfeit other competitions if only one matters??
You can’t tell me there’s not been teams since that could go invincible? The difference is arsenal literally played and was happy with draws to keep that run going when other teams that could easily go invincible playing like that will go out and try to kill teams
99 and 08 United, 06 Chelsea and the 2018 and 2019 City, even 2020 Liverpool. 12 draws is ridiculous. You’re telling me that a team that didn’t win and just drew nearly one third of their games is that great. Way too overrated. 90 total points. That means they missed out 24 points from an actual perfect season and you have won 26 games in total in the league. We have just seen 3 years in a row, teams win 32 games in a season. Arsenal just this year has 4 games to go and they have 24 wins. The last team to win less than 26 games and win the league was Leicester in 2016.
It's not just the invincible tag, it's the way they played whilst doing it. Mourinhos Chelsea were defensive. Guardiolas City are tedious and boring to watch. Wengers Invincibles were just poetry in motion.
The current city side is miles better, the Utd teams of 99 and 08 were better also, that arsenal team got put out of ever cup early and lost the community shield also. The premier league doesn’t happen in a vacuum what you do throughout the season in comps matters and winning other trophies along with the league shows just how good teams actually are that arsenal side had an amazing season but other teams were just better hence why they won more trophies
Would like to say, they may have won the league but the mighty Boro would knock them out every time. Can go unbeaten when they done play Boro but they would lose every time

@@Adskiii Liverpool 21/22 was unreal and unlucky to not win quadruple. Literally like a point or a few off city for a couple seasons
@@Adskiii couldn’t even win the champions league
@@sharpleven9986 yet in the Champions league we went over 10 games without the opponent scoring a goal against us and we faced prime Madrid and juventus and in the final we only lost because of an u fair red card and an offside goal
@@Adskiii prime Real Madrid 😂😂 that team was at the end of its cycle with its Galacticos
Besides where was Henry when u needed him
Missed all them 1v1’s then pissed off to Barcelona to win the ucl
wait so there are three treble teams, centurions, a team that won every trophy possible in three years that also got 99 points, 97 points, and one inch away from invincible centurions, a team that won the league with more points, one less and conceded 15 goals and ur telling me a team that won fuck all except a league title with 90 points against one decent united side that was shit that year is top 5, let alone top 3
Facts, Chelsea 05/05 Utd 99, Utd 2008, Centurions, and the current City squad are all better sides than the Invincibles
05/06*
Leicester winning the prem was a bigger achievement than the invincible season
Ur funny 😂
They got gifted it by everyone else being shit that season.
@@CH_Mayhem Sure mate. The whole league just couldnt be bothered
rinse ur mouth w soap
You’re probably a Leyton orient fan
2008 and 1999 united teams, this city team, then mourinhos chelsea and then invincibles
1: Man City 17/18 (100 points and 106 goals scored)
2: Chelsea 04/05 (Only let in 15 goals, during a period where there were loads of top attacking players in the PL).
3: Arsenal 03/04 (zero defeats).
Obviously PL only, not including cups.
Would never been invincible if Pires didn't dive at home v pompey to get pen for 1 all draw
Wenger himself said that the invincibles weren’t even his best arsenal side
I full agree 💯
I love the windup 😂
Top 3 for me is Man United 99, Man United 08 and Man City 2023 so as good as they was they are probably top 5 not top 3.
Top two in either order ‘99 United & ‘23 City.
Then it’s a toss up between ‘05 Chelsea and ‘04 Arsenal.
There has been teams finishing second who would beat the invincibles....
Of course nowadays because football has advanced to a new level, United’s 99 treble team was great but current Brighton would wipe them off the park, the best teams back then wouldn’t be able to handle an aggressive press or defend against an intelligent build up scheme
I would say the invincibles had some cracking players in and were very good defensively, maybe even the best defense out of 05/06 Chelsea, or the invincibles. But overall team. No way
“That achievement (the invincibles) stands above all else) SAF
Respect the run I don’t wanna here it if it was any another team ie Liverpool or united or city or Chelsea people would have said it’s the best but because it’s arsenal there no credit given I’m sick of it
Utd 99, City 100 pts, Chelsea 05, Liverpool when they won the league. Any order you like.
I will be nice and put Arsenal just below them
I think it’s honestly the difference between having a top three team, and having a top three season.
Top 3
1. Peps 100 point team
2. Klopps title winning team
3. Mourinho's 04/05 Chelsea
Going a whole season without losing is amazing but as a team we've had better
And yet we've never seen it before nor since. Not even 100point City managed it
@CowboyOrangeSoda competition is better now, great achievement without a doubt but nowhere near the best teams in the Premier league era
There’s a strong argument that they might not even be in the top 5
United 99 & 08
City’s treble & centurions
Chelsea in the 04/05 season.
Chelsea 05, man city centurions, Liverpool 20, there's 3 straight away without even mentioning man utd 😂
I agree, Man City consider a draw a loss nowadays....Arsenal drawing 15 or whatever games wouldn't be enough to win the league over City
Who wants to draw? It's all about winning
As far as I'm concerned the quad is thr ultimate, followed by the treble, followed by league and CL double, then league and domestic cup. 1 trophy in a season can't be considered the best ever.
This guy is actually deluded
Arsenal had 90 points that season
City this season has 89
It's true tho... in no particular order:
United '99
United '08
City '19
City '23 (if they win atleast ucl+prem)
You could even argue that it wasn't even Arsenal best ever premier league team.
Liverpools Team that finished second with 90+ points are better then iNvIncIbLeS
And the city team to won the league that year and the city centurions and the United 08, and more let’s a lot of teams that would beat the iNvInCiBlEs
How are you comparing Liverpool today to an Arsenal 19 years ago? Compare them to Liverpool 19 years ago lol
@@JJJ-7 he is comparing their best teams. Liverpools was last season, and we have to go back 19 YEARS to compare.
Beardy loses his argument when he states that Arsenal drew about 50 games. Is he 7 years old?
No way too 3. Some quality players but just not losing doesn’t make you a success. Arsenal fans bias is a different level
100% true the idea of invisibles is so flawed. You could go a season unbeaten get 38pts and be relegated. Like all title winning teams they were brilliant but nothing about them puts them above treble UTD, Joses Chelsea, Klopps Liverpool or any of Peps City teams.
“That achievement (the invincibles) stands above all else) SAF
U can concede the least goals in premier league history and go down.
Geezer said arsenal 03/04 are not top 3 best pl teams of all time because they got knocked out in a different competition.
City treble, City centurions, United 08, United treble, Liverpool 19, Chelsea 05… all better than the invincibles
Nothing unthinkable in that - there is a case for each of City 100, United treble, Chelsea 05 teams to be in the conversation. It's not a debate worth wasting time on personally but the opinion is not outrageous or anything like they reacted.
great achievement no doubt, both treble teams and centurions are clear
Man City, Liverpool, Chelsea 04. The invincibles played for so many draws.
City 17/18, Liverpool 19/20 , Chelsea 05 season
I’m an arsenal fan since the 90s even I’ll admit they’re not top 3. However they’re definitely top 2 when it comes to most memorable.
United 08/09
United 99
Citys 98 point season i think it was
“That achievement (the invincibles) stands above all else) SAF
So hard picking a best team ever.
Chelsea 04/05
City 17/18
Arsenal 03/04
Arsenal 01/02
United 07/08
Liverpool 19/20
Idk what to choose
If the invincibles played city now they would get destroyed
Thats so dumb and hafeful to think that way💀😭😭
You can’t tell me there’s not been teams since that could go invincible? The difference is arsenal literally played and was happy with draws to keep that run going when other teams that could easily go invincible playing like that will go out and try to kill teams
I’d give it 3rd.
1st- Centurions Man City
2nd- 22/23 Man City
3rd- the invincibles
The MU treble would like to have a word with you
@@DS-dw3pz if city have broken ffp then I’d put them 2nd behind the invincibles
Is that the one they went undefeated for 50 games
City last year, United treble, arsenal invincibles 🤙
Got beaten by us in the champo aswell
It's not just the invincible tag, it's the way they played whilst doing it.
Mourinhos Chelsea were defensive.
Guardiolas City are tedious and boring to watch.
Wengers Invincibles were just poetry in motion.
How was Pep’s City boring to watch?
Top 5 teams in no order
1. United 99
2. City 2023
3. United 2008
4. Invincibles
5. City 2012
Invincible is a great achievement but the team is not a top 3 teams in pl history
United 08 and 99 + Chelsea 04/05 and Man City centurian teams would all smash invincibles.
Arsenal 98 are better than 04
Top 3 prem teams
United 98/99
City 22/23
United 08/09
United treble
Mourinho 05
Klopps 99
Guardiola 100
There is an argument 😮
If it’s not so hard to do why has Man City not done it yet 🤣🤣🤣
Look it’s an achievement going the whole season unbeaten, but surely accumulating more points has to be more impressive right?
1. 17/18 Man City
2. 19/20 Liverpool
3. 04/05 Chelsea
4. 03/04 Arsenal
5. 07/08 Man United
Wouldn’t even say too 5 to be honest. Like he said all they had to play for was the league and drew most games.
Top 3 prem teams is 07/08 Man U, Man City 17/18, then Liverpool 19/20
It could be top 5 but a treble winning team is always upfront.
“That achievement (the invincibles) stands above all else) SAF
Would like to say, they may have won the league but the mighty Boro would knock them out every time. Can go unbeaten when they done play Boro but they would lose every time
