I'm absolutely floored to discover that you aren't an American, or that you weren't raised in America. I thought it was impossible to get such a good accent if you didn't learn a language during your formative years.

My company requires you be a native speaker of English, have a legal work permit in the U.S. or Canada, a bachelor degree, Prior teaching experience, A computer with a processor of intel i5 or higher, and digital literacy using microsoft word and ppt.

I'm an American speech-language pathologist and accent coach. Your pronunciation is incredible! I would have guessed that you moved to the US around age 10. Great job Steven!!! Especially the word stress and overall intonation. It's very natural. Nailing that level of pronunciation as an adult takes A LOT of hard work.

To be fair it is fairly normal for non-native speakers to have excellent accents, gleaning this from working at international schools is Asia and around the world.. most accents naturally veer towards north American.

For most people, after age 13, it's very difficult, often impossible, to lose an accent. I know you have not *completely* lost your accent, but not far from completely. Really incredible.

I feel you on the accent situation. My grandma made me copy entries out of the dictionary and learn technically correct pronunciations until my accent disappeared. Now I don't even remember how I used to sound. 😂
