Hello, I just purchased the Numark 3, and was wondering how to abide for not having a sound card built in? I understand you need and external sound card but is that simply it? Just plug in the USB sound card to the USB port on your laptop then your fine or do you need to download additional sound audio interface?

i downloaded virtual dj on my mac but it everytime i move the buttons on my numark it wont show that is it moving on the app
This would usually be due to the following:
You may have installed or enabled the wrong version of virtual DJ.
If you started with the Virtual DJ version from Numark shown in the video...
The version that comes with this product is pre-mapped to the Numark hardware. There's no setup to do at all. However, Virtual DJ makes it (too) easy to enable a trial of their (not free) pro version from right inside the free included version. This pro version trial ISN'T mapped to the controller, but you can set this up in the software preferences.
If you started with a Virtual DJ version from somewhere else....
Only the version f Virtual DJ that comes with the controller is pre-mapped to the MixTrack 3. Versions included with other controllers won't work with this controller at all. Uninstall any other versions of Virtual DJ, and reinstall according to the video.
If you have paid for, and installed Virtual DJ Pro, you'll need to setup the controller in Virtual DJ's settings menu.
Note, you can only have 1 version of Virtual DJ on your computer at once. Multiple versions (especially cracked versions) will interfere with each other and prevent things from working right. Uninstall any other versions completely, and install the newest and best version you own only.
I just bought a mixtrack 3 (not pro three) I have tried to get help on other forms but nothing helps. When I play music on the Virtual DJ program there is no sound on my computer speakers. I have set the speaker that I want to default and that hasn't fixed it. Can you please help me?

when I did mine there wasn't a link to the virtual DJ website it just had an option for download for PC or Mac. so I never had to go to a website and fill things out like the video said. hoping it doesn't effect the LE edition lasting forever!
They've made a few changes to help speed up the setup/install process. The LE edition indeed still lasts forever once registered.

So if I get a splitter, will I be able to play one song on my speakers while listening to another song in my headphones?
With a slitter, the same audio will be heard on both sides. You won't be able to listed to one song on one side, and listen to a cued song on the other side. Instead you need an actual audio device to provide 2 discreet sets of outputs to your computer. The most popular is the Numark DJIO 2. a.co/hLLJ0hu

what is the difference and importance between having internal sound cards and not having one like this product? i have a Hercules instinct and dont like the software that comes with it (djuced18), i trained myself on virtual dj and like it better, but i also dont have a mac i have windows pc.
+IveBeenThinkin Boutu Your regular computer sound card has just 1 stereo output. To DJ, you'll usually want 2 sets of stereo outputs...one to go to your audience, and a separate one to go to your headphones. Being able to send different audio to the audience than what you have in your headphones lets you, the DJ, queue and prepare for what you want your audience to hear next...but without letting them hear you mucking around in your library. The Mixtrack Pro 3 has 2 stereo outputs built in. If you have the Mixtrack 3 (non-pro), or some other setup that doesn't have 2 sets of outputs, you can add these on separately with a product like the Numark DJ IO ... a standalone little USB box with RCA outputs.
Hi, I have question . may I use my numark mixtrack 3 with diferent software ? eg serato or traktor ??
It is supported in Traktor, but Serato only works with a select list of controllers.
For PC does it require Windows 10?
I did everything but when I connect the controller to the laptop the music plays but it dont sound on my computer nor the speaker what do I do help pls!!
what computer do you use? I had the same problem. Its not the controller itself, but the software. When your controller is connected to your computer, you either need to connect you speaker to the controller or change the settings on your computer, so the sound doesn't go through the Controller. On Mac, you can find the settings under Audio-MIDI-Setup, its a default program, than you click the add button and than the "create new Aggregate Device" now you need to fill in the name of your device, like "[name of device] Audio Output" and choose your macbook speakers as the default ones, or your external speakers. On Windows however I don't know where to find this settings, but they should also be able to find them.

Oh and you also need to restart your Program and reconnect the controller.
What parts of the serial number do u out when registering the Numark?
+mithil rajeev Register with the entire serial, including the (21). The serial can be found on a white sticker on the rear or bottom of the unit.

How is the operation of this device on virtual 7
This product came out after VDJ8 was released, so I don't believe there is a map built into VDJ7 for it.
Hey guys, i need a bit of help. I bought this controller second hand earlier today. No box, no instructions. Can i still use it with a dj program or it is useless?
This will work with most DJ programs out there. Getting it second hand, you won't get the light version of Virtual DJ the original owner received though. You'll need to purchase your own DJ software to use with it, like Virtual DJ.

+eric hiler You'll need to check on your sound settings. If you've activated the LE version of Virtual DJ LE included with the controller, there won't be any sound options, and the software will follow whatever settings you've selected in your Windows Sound Control Panel. If you're running the 30 day trial of Virtual DJ Pro, this unlocks all kinds of sound options that you'll need to configure correctly to get audio to work right. If the sound on your computer in general (outside of Virtual DJ) is cutting off, just go to your Windows Sound Control Panel to correct your computer's audio output settings.

Hello ! I just bought the mitrack 3, and I didn't figure out how to use headphones to do smooth transitioin. Bc there isn't any jack port on the machine, and I am already use the outjack of my laptop to direct the signal to speakers.
If somebody knows it would help me so much, i am playing this weekend and i have to fiigure it out ahahah!!

Well, the Mixtrack 3 doesn't have any audio out or in ports. Most Mixtrack 3 users will ultimately get an audio device like the Numark DJIO2 a.co/6KV8yyD that will provide independant outputs for powered speakers and headphones. Until then, plug headphones into your computer.
If you have the Mixtrack 3 Pro (with built-in audio outputs), then you'd plug your headphones into the controller)

You can use it on a number of PC's...2 officially.

Yes, you can configure the software to send audio out of any sound card.

+KndR - Magician The Mixtrack 3 (without built-in audio outputs) comes with Virtual DJ LE. The Mixtrack 3 Pro (WITH built-in audio outputs) includes Serato DJ Intro.
How do you monitor 1 deck through your headphones and have the other deck playing through your computer?
Shown at 4:04 in the video.
Your computer doesn't natively support two separate audio output streams, so you need to but something to accommodate that:
1) An external audio device like the Numark DJ iO 2. Gives you stereo RCA outputs and a separate headphone out.
2) A Stereo to Mono Splitter cable. Splits your computer's existing stereo output into two mono sinals. Cheaper than option 1, but results in mono audio.
Connect your hardware and adjust your software settings to match:
If using an external audio device (to get 2 separate audio streams), like the Numark DJ iO 2, choose 'External Sound Card' at 4:04 in the video. If you don't get an external audio device, you can switch your setup to dual mono and use a DJ splitter cable. In that case, choose Stereo to Mono Splitter at 4:04.
Connect your headphones to whichever
Turn on Cue on either playback deck on your Mixtrack hardware:
Once you've taken care of the above, you can play back songs on the Mixtrack decks. To route a deck's audio to your headphones, press the Headphone Cue button (directly above each deck's vertical channel fader) on the either deck on the Mixtrack controller.

It's completely free. You'll never be asked to pay unless you (accidentally) don't authorize the included free software. You can always come back, watch this video, and correct your incomplete software authorization if you missed a step. Why it doesnt have any sound ?
I just bought a used mixtrack pro 3 online and when I connected it to my Mac and opened up serato dj pro and loaded up 2 tracks it didn’t do anything. Anyone know how to fix it?

got a mixtrack 3, cannot get any sounds coming from my speakers when its plugged in, been trying to figure it out all day. it appears to be doing everything else ok, just no sound coming through my pc speakers. my soundcard is quite old though, soundblaster xfi extreme, could that be the problem? maybe buy a brand new internal sound card? will that help? i dont really want an external sound card if i can help it

so if I have vdjle8 and I have six days left so even if it expires I can use it with out ten minutes and use it for as long as I want what if it says renew license I order the program with it I do r have to play monthly right

If you got the LE version of Virtual DJ with the purchase of a Numark controller, it came with an Authorization code. This code would either have been included inside the box on a card, or it would be delivered to you in your 'My Account' page on numark.com after you registered your controller.
Just use the code to activate the software, and you'll never see mention of expiration or time limits again. You won't have to pay anything.
+noterepeat I did have the required information to do it like I did it the first time I got it for my Numark so does mean I have to do it again but if says I have like 5 days because I bought it and activated it the first time though
+Mobstem bemet Virtual DJ builds a demo of the full version into all the LE installations. So, even if you've activated LE using your code, you still have the option to enable the 30 day demo. Once the demo expires, It'll go back to the (fully activated) LE version.

If you have a Mixtrack 3 (not the Pro), it should look just like 1:41 when registered. However, if you have a Mixtrack PRO 3, it doesn't come with Virtual DJ, and uses Serato DJ Intro instead, which you get from www.serato.com/downloads

Just contact numark at www.numark.com/support. They can provide you a new code if needed.
Just an extra note, since it comes up from time to time, and can cause the same symptom you mentioned.... if you've ever had a pirated copy of Virtual DJ on your computer, you won't be able to install a legit copy until Virtual DJ (not Numark) assists you in cleaning the pirated copy from your computer.
