    And you DEFINITELY DID GREG Gagne! You were ALWAYS in shape; you pushed the pedal to the metal and kept it there every time you stepped in the Ring. When Nick Bockwinkle said that wrestling you was like having the night off.....(Great compliment as you know what that REALLY means) says it all. Thanks for the memories sir!

    @ 4:08 Vince said he wanted to buy Verne out, but Verne passed.
    Stu Hart actually went for the deal, which according to Ross Hart, was for $1,000,000.00 (not sure if US or Canadian) of which Vince paid $50,000.00. Vince called it off after that, having taken the talent he wanted and seeing as Bret, Owen and crew were working in WWF, not much was said about it.

    • @darlenedavis7920
      @darlenedavis7920 Před 3 lety +1

      The deal fell through because the Hart's were not supposed to run another promotion. Bruce Hart decided to relaunch Stampede Wrestling on his own and that made the deal null and void.

    LOL..."My dad made Hulk Hogan", Hogan was drawing huge in the AWA and had a $10,000/week gurantee from NJPW, ok there. Hogan was doing fine before going to WWF/E, Vince made him a mainstream name, but Hogan would've been a top 3 wrestling star during the 80s with or without McMahon

      WizzardUwo plus he'd already been in Rocky before he reached the WWF (for his main run. he was there in 1980 as a heel or whatever)

      @MattSingh1 Před 9 lety +3

      +WizzardUwo The AWA was merely a stop between New Japan tours, as you stated Hogan was making far more in New Japan than he ever would've in the AWA, even if he were champion.

    In 1979, a new pro wrestling publication hit newsstands and magazine racks across the nation. It was Pro Wrestling Illustrated. When the first issue went to press, Greg Gagne was ranked at #3 in the now defunct American Wrestling Association (AWA). Also, he and Jim Brunzell were ranked at #7 in the Tag Team Division.

    I never got to experience The AWA only AWA I ever seen was on ESPN Classics cause I was born in 86 however it was a decent promotion but it was at it's best in the 70's early 80's. Also The Legacy Of The AWA released back in 2006 by WWE was great. Greg seems like a common sense guy I'm glad he told Stephanie off. Kevin Dunn seems like an ass.

Vince has always steals talent from other places with fake promises because he doesn't and never did know how to create stars because his company is a Joke!! If not for the people he put out of business that went to work for him And if not for his father's people who helped him Vince would have been out of business long time ago!
