Back in the late 80s. My Dad when he wrestled had the pleasure of wrestling Ric Flair and this was luck, cause the guy who was supposed to wrestle Ric couldn't make it to the show and so the Promoter went to Ric and asked him if he'd be willing to work with another talent who was very good in the ring and would put on a great match with him. Ric agreed, My Dad and Ric had the match, Ric treated my Dad very good and my Dad did the same. Ric got the win and after the match, Ric shook my Dad's hand and thanked him for the match and it was one of my Dad's Top Highlights of his career and I will be forever grateful to Ric Flair for treating my Dad good in and out of the ring and for going out of his way to help put my Dad over. My Dad's Wrestling name was Bull Butcher and worked the North East in the Independent Circuit from 83 to 91, he ended up having a Car Wreck in 91 which took him out of wrestling. But in the 8 years he wrestled even just being in the Indys, my Dad made a name for himself. After 5 years he was already doing Wrestling Seminars. My Father was my Hero and I will always be grateful for everything he taught me about the business and for being the best Dad ever. #RIPBullButcher Love and Miss you Dad.

Seems like Dean is a pretty good teacher. But the problem young wrestlers today have is that the face of the business is very different and there arent many legends in it. As in Malenko himself is somewhat a legend because he lived through Attitude era and wrestled in ECW, WCW and WWE and he can name drop guys like Liger and Dr. Death who he wrestled with. Who will the kids today name drop in 30 years? And that's where it gets complicated and honestly pro wrestling will never live down the boom period in the 80s and 90s which is something that is impossible seemingly to do again despite AEW and WWE trying hard. The kids today wanna make wrestling big again so they can become legends like Malenko and his generation. And who knows if it's happening.
