- In this timelapse I compare 2 different games, 1 where all dlcs are enabled and 1 where no dlcs are enabled. What differences will there be?

My first full game of vanilla Hoi4, Japan got part of Wales at the end of the war, creating the Welsh Shogunate. I think this was historical mode too.

In the first several dozen historical games I played as Germany throughout my time playing HOI4, Italy would always try to take Scotland, wakes, northern England, Canada, India, Australia, and Norway, for whatever reason.

it was funny how in the DLC version, Germany finally lost the war, then immediately tried to invade around Poland again. It's like the Allies turned around and Germany immediately went around for a second go at it.

Might be a lack of American land lease and too many lost factories before they could be transferred to the Ural.

@@El_Presidente_5337 lend lease accounted for 4% of Soviet production (not counting the products produced before the war). Soviet citizens also collected valuables comparable to the volume of lend lease into funds to help the front.
And again, Germany nearly defeats the Soviets, and falls only because the Allies occupy all of it after D-Day. It's non-historical
They need to make Soviet victory hinge on trucks.

Soviet Union in histoical should be able to 1v1 Germany at least. They are never able to every single game.

In the game i easily manage to defeat the germans on my own, without any support on any but the highest difficulty
(also it would be completely gamebreaking to make the Soviets even stronger. Where would be the point in playing the axis if you cant even defeat the soviets but still have to deal with the allies.)

Actually it is the right version, cause even stupied AI on the Soviet Union save its soldiers much more, than it was in real life.

I really love switzerland gameplay in both versions
Funny that them are both not historically correct, in a way or the another. (However the "All DLCs" was the most wrong.)

Its just historical focus tree wise. The strength of the nations is more made for balance reasons and not historical reasons. Also every historical game is extremely different. You cant expect it to be an exact representation of ww2, being a game.

In every fucking game weird shit happens like Germany not going around the maginot but through Italy or Italy naval invading Normandy while Germany is pushing through the maginot because the French moved their armies to garrison Africa

Because the Allies are too over powered and need a nerf, and the Soviet AI needs a rework.
In my ongoing US game, the Allies are getting pulverized in Africa, we’ve finally managed to throw the Axis out of Northeastern Canada, the USSR capitulated, and my focusing on the Pacific until now has led to me ERASING the Japanese Navy.

@Duplizapper was commie and went after, what i assume, were liberated or supervised states in its core territory. German AI is very aggressive if the ideology lets it and it has reason.

Can someone explain to me what was happening in Norway between Germany(i presume) and Italy in all dlc? How was the ai taking territory from each other
An occupied state can be passed to a different nation within your faction in order to free up men.
the allies navally invaded norway and italy was the one who retook it so they owned the provinces
Both sides have something in common though: Why I'm a fortface.
No matter if they landed, they'll never get past by forts I just planted :)
To be fair no DLC Germany would have collapsed faster if it wasn't for Vichy France being the D-Day-Master

You people need to realize that noone would play germany if your only job is to loose.
If you want a completely historical experience, watch a movie. But for people like me who mostly plays germany in multiplayer its already extremely frustrating because the soviets alone are an overpowered pain in the ass if playerd by a competent player.....But you still gotta fight the allies as well

It's so it makes sense, especially when you play on historical, yet Germany 99% of the time either wins or pushes the soviets so far that they barely recover(and on best days they reach Poland before allies take over germany), it should have more outcomes bruh. And if you want better balance for multi(completely irrelevant), then make rules or mods lol.

Maybe just try the game on a harder difficulty. The soviets gets extremely op pretty fast on the higher ones. But dont turn them into a Second USA.
We need better balancing. Not the contrary. The game is still meant to make fun and give us the abiltiy to conquer the world no matter if we play Germany, Portugal or Tibet.

@@andrefasching1332 lol giant L. I play multi, and? Multi(especially "competitive") is not the main content, and you don't always wanna play majors, I am talking about AI vs AI scenarios. Changing the difficulty won't change that. I am pretty sure changing the AI to do more appropriate things for the soviets(and perhaps the Germans to focus more on dday since they oftenly get annihilated by it) would be good enough, but you're making a deal out of it xD

Очень неисторично он себя чувствует.
Чел, тут как когда, у меня Германия очень часто тупит, строит вместо танков пехоту и посылает ее в лобовую на линию мажино. Хотя с последними патчами это исправили. А ии с СССР не справляется, слишком сложная для компьютера задача - подготовиться к войне и при этом адекватно пройти сталинские чистки не расстреляв в них все командование.
У меня получалось несколько раз, как итог, в самом худшем сценарии немцы у меня даже Минск не взяли, а в наилучшем были разбиты в приграничных боях и я прям как в пропоганде" бил противника малой кровью на его же территории. Имба в этой игре - игрок. Поэтому если знаешь как играть - советский союз наваливает ого-го, в лейте ему вообще равных нет.

I strongly very strongly recommend using the World Ablaze mod. The game is awful without it installed and excellent with it installed. Most importantly, it can actually be quite challenging unlike the unmodded game.

Technically all nations go historical without DLC, with the notable exception of France and Poland which can go some historical routes (both can do a basic form of the four primary ideologies), America can intervene or not and Japan can go monarchist or stay fascist.
Everything else is not going to change even if historical is turned off.
