There's always some people I ain't haven't heard of popping out doing some amazing things at the Dunk Camp. I went the first one in 2018 and it was an unforgettable experience. The Dunk Camp revolutionized dunking or at least brought an entirely new light to the dunking community.

When I was in high school, I spent all of my free time in a gym. I am 5'8" with long arms that could reach 7'3" flatfooted. I could barely get my hand over the rim which about a 41" jump. I was very proud of that. These guys are monsters, I can't believe their leaping power. You see it real time, and it is still hard to believe it. Clark is awesome.
@@FadedLxve Yes, thanks. In reading the post again, he did say getting his hand over the rim. 33" for the fingertip to touch the rim, and 41" for the hand to go over the rim.
Well they could measure 500 people with a 50 inch vert and it still wouldn’t be a common thing as that would be around(not a 100 % estimate but really close ) 0.000005% of the population,
@@lukewilkins5225 Michael Jordan was indeed a goat talking about his vertical...but he had the full skillset, the other player who had the same vertical as MJ was Wilt Chamberlain...and then you see guys as Spud Webb...another leaping animal. Yeah, vertical leap might give you a physical advantage, but basketball is a game based on team effort and skills rather than physicality. There was a dude a couple of years ago with a 52' vertical... grotesque and there are guys that even go further than 55' true dedication, they live to jump.
There was an olímpic medalist who had a 51.3 vertical inches he was 1.81m and was the only one athlete capable of Jumping a height 60cm taller than him in high jump... Real monster from Sweden.
@@TheJackOfAllTrades777 Haven't heard it either. When he was jumping they weren't measuring verts like we do now. He is tied for the record of the greatest clearance over own height (with Franklin Jacobs) 59 cm. That's about 23.25 inches. But in HJ you have to elevate to the point on your body to where you can pivot the rest of your body over the bar. That's probably somewhere down near the small of your back. Figure for a person standing 5'11 (Holm) that's another 2+ feet (28"?). That would put him right at about 51"+ vert.
When did they start measuring verticles with a running start. Verticle leap is suppose to be a standing leap. He has mad hops but I doubt hed jump that high without the running start. Crazy bounce though💯🏆
The NBA uses both standing vertical and max vertical measurements. Both are "vertical" measurements. One is from a standing position, and one with an approach. That's why the thumbnail says Max Vertical on it
Crazy freakish athletic ability.. just makes me wonder why Michael Wilson never cones up in the vert conversation.. he supposedly had a 51.6 inch standing at Memphis university in the early 2000s.. the said back then it was verified ? Could that have all been 🧢,?
@@DunkademicsOfficial my bad, i felt more of it from PPA Hoping that anthony height gers the chance to test his max vert too in a official situation like this
Either the goal behind him is way lower than 10 feet (as in like 9 feet flat) or that's a ridiculously misleading camera angle, or both. The top of a regulation backboard is 13 feet. He only hits 12'3, but from the angle this is shot his hand is way above the top of that backboard and his head way above the rim. My guess is they put a lowered goal behind him just to make this look more impressive.
If the right person is born with the right genetics and works for it their whole life it might be possible, but I think it is going to take a while before we will see that. We are just now, in the last couple of years, seeying the first few guys with a 50 inch
