    I do love my 2017. Of the 3 complaints that I had, I've fixed 2 of them. 1) For its price it should come with the locking handle for the tailgate. I bought it and replaced it. 2) The rear doors not opening wide enough. Again, easy fix. I replaced the door checkers and gained about 5 inches of opening. They were $10 each. 3) And this one there's nothing I can do about it, the Infotainment is horrendous! So slow at startup and forget about trying to use the voice controls for anything!

      Wow! That is really great to know. I’m sure many other owners have had the same problems but I wonder how many of them know how to fix them as you did? I'll pin your comment in an effort to help others see what can be done. Thank you for sharing!

    I live my Ridgeline but I have to complain about the capless fuel fill. I live in WV and it gets pretty cold here. One day I was running low on gas so I pulled into a gas station and I could not get the pump into my Ridgeline to pump the gas. I took it to the Honda dealership where I bought it and turns out that a cube of ice had built up behind the plastic fuel guard preventing me to add fuel. The dealership broke the plastic piece and thats how they found out that it was ice. Other than that I absolutely love my truck.

    I had a 2017 Ridgeline and now in a 2019. This is probably my favourite vehicle I have purchased...had other Hondas, Toyotas and a Subaru... One comment about the truck/tire storage...yes, it is unique to the Ridgeline because the Ridgeline is not built on a frame like all other trucks...which is how they can do that... So, you likely won't see it on other trucks unless they too go uni-body. Speaking of uni-body...its a great design feature, but it also could be a flaw. I has in what I would consider a minor accident where someone t-boned me on the driver's side just behind the rear door. There is a support column there, which did take the impact and we really didn't feel much other than a small bump. Even when looking at the vehicle after it happened...it didn't look like much, however, after taking it to the autobody shop for repairs...cost came to close to $30K and my 2017 was written off. To get at that support column that was damaged, you pretty much have to take apart the entire cab and replace it. A bit shocked...but undeterred. I took the insurance money and put it into a 2019... The handling is more of a Pilot...and for a city guy who will use it for camping, ski trips and picking up a few things from hardware stores now and then...its perfect.

    I have a 2018 Honda Ridgeline sport CDN. Edition and I absolutely love it. Also will never buy another vehicle with a gas cap. Capless is so much easier pop the door and stick her in. No more having to twist the cap and having rest against the body panel Or losing it. And I use my trunk to store camping gear. Habe a ridgeline factory tent. Also keep fishing gear and kayak accessories in it all at the same time with room to spare.

    I live in Canada. The capless fuel fill will freeze up when its extrem cold out there, and you wont be able to stick the gas pump in. I have seen 4 Hondas did that last winter.

    I like the aerodynamic front end. I like that its unibody because there ARE NO OFFROADS in America, most ppl live near only have paved roads, no one ACTUALLY GOES OFFROAD, so why ppl buy offroad capability and never go offroad makes no sense. THIS IS WHAT TRUCKS IN MOST OF AMERICA SHOULD BE.

      i agree and disagree, yes a ridgeline would fit most buyers perfectly, but the ridgeline has a major flaw that makes many not look at it, PRICE, the competitiveness of the big truck manufacturers means that for the price of a decently equipped ridgeline i can get a big brawny v8 truck, so why buy the "its not a truck ridgeline" when you can get a full blown truck????????????????? oh and most new truck are getting nearly as good if not better MPG than a ridgeline

    The capless fuel fill is ok providing Honda gives a funnel to use for gas can fill if needed. Being in Florida having cans for generators during hurricane season, once the threat is gone need to fill the vehicles.
    My neighbor has a Civic that had a funnel provided so I hope they did this for the Ridgeline.

      So I actually ran out of gas one time stupid me in my 2018 ridgeline. My girlfriend brought out a jerry can which didnt have a funnel. We ended up have to find a water bottle to fill up with gas and to get the gas to actually go down into the tank. I had to put a chop stick down it to prop open the gas flap down in the filling hose and was able to pour the gas right down into the tank.

    I see where it useable capless fuel fill but it’s a bad thing is when u pump gas you have to have special nozzle to put gas in it if u don’t have your screwed

    • @squidusn71
      @squidusn71 Před 4 lety

      You don't have to have a special nozzle to pump gas at any gas station. However, if you are referring to portable plastic gas containers, there's a funnel included for that purpose.

      @VehicleVisionary  Před 4 lety +2

      I can understand that. I'm not sure if it has changed or not. I will have to check next time I go to the Honda dealership. Either way, the ability to lift the windshield wipers off the windshield is a plus on any vehicle.

    What version of the Ridgeline is this, RTL-T? At 0.03 seconds you show the info-screen with a camera view, "Objects are closer than they appear". I have a RTL-E and I never see this screen. My 2015 Civic has it with a passenger-side rear-view camera. My Ridgeline only has a backup camera.
    At 13:09 you show camera settings, one selection is Lane-Watch, is this an optional camera? Only available on the RTL-T version?

    • @VehicleVisionary
      @VehicleVisionary  Před 4 lety

      This is the RTL-T. I'm not sure why your RIdgeline does not have lanewatch. I did a little research to find an answer for you but could not find the year when lanewatch became standard on the Ridgeline but it is at this point. However, this feature is supposedly goong to be phased out in favor of blindspot monitoring in the future, but that isn;t the case as of yet. I reviewed a 2020 Civic yesterday that has lanewatch.

    • @JC-sn2iq
      @JC-sn2iq Před 4 lety

      RTL-E and the Black Edition have blind spot monitoring. Honda Lane Watch will be gone after this year because blind spot monitoring is basically standard across all brands now.

    • @squidusn71
      @squidusn71 Před 4 lety

      It's the only thing I wish I had with my RTLE is that camera or Lanewatch. Unfortunately, the E and BE has the blind spot monitoring.

    It lacks all of the aesthetics of what a truck should look like. It looks like someone took a lackluster SUV and chopped the butt off. Oh wait, that's exactly what they did. Looks matter and it would sell more if it looked like a truck.
