I think you doing this work from heart, I was living as a teen in times of mullets 😉 but I like it till today. I cut my own hair and it always ended up to a light version of this. Using an old tool with rasor blades inside. It's freestyle, but most people say it looks good on me. I don't have the right hair for wear it long, so this is so easy to style straight hair with a roller airbrush and products. Thank you young man and all the best from Germany

any tips for doing this haircut on shorter hair? :) the length of the front is mid ear and the length of the back is to the neck
Hey there, thanks for the question. I would approach it the same way if cutting with razor, if I was using scissors I would approach it very different. Maybe I will cut the same mannequin, but shorter in a new video.

Yes it would work with curly hair, you might not want to cut as short though. Leave a bit longer for the curl to form.

back in "the day" a pixie mullet" was called an XYZ haircut or a shag.....lots of layers shorter in the front than the back....not inventing anything new, just bringing back a great classic!

To put it nicely, I’d call this more “editorial.”
To not put it so nicely, not everyone wants the same haircut. This is more for the alt crowd. Might not be YOUR cup of tea, but there are plenty of people that like it. Celebs, models, teens that want to experiment with their identity before they have to be miserable adults. I clicked on this video BECAUSE it was different. Am I alt? No. Am I a teen? No, I’m 30. My hair is long, straight, and virgin brown. I’ve had plenty of different colors and cuts in the past - pixies and mullets included (I was a bit scene/emo). Am I living vicariously? Maybe. Not because of my job but because I’ve really been trying to grow my hair out. But I’m not judgmental.
And like he says at the end, maybe this is for a hairdresser to practice different techniques.
Exactly for this reason he did a great video... and... every hair cut should be a little different, a bit more of freestyle, than it shows a personallity... please think about 😉
