I once showed a stylist a reference photo so I could be assured we were on the same page. They nodded. I asked if they wanted me to leave the photo out on the tray. No, they were confidant they knew what I wanted. Cut ended up looking nothing like the reference photo. This scenario has replayed so many times in my life, I no longer go to salons for cuts. Now I can mess up my own cut for $0!😂 JK. I’m sure it will look great.

Wish you could cut my hair. I can't find anybody where I live that can do this. I keep watching this trying to learn how to do it myself. It's really detailed. I can't do exactly what you do, however, it's helping me in getting a better cut on my own hair. I'll get there with patience and the help of this wonderful tutorial.

There's another hairstylist here on CZcams who hates these ponytails DIYs. He fails to understand that many of us don't do it because we're tight-fisted, we do it because we can't find a hairstylist who understands, in my case, that I want to wear my wavy/curly hair au naturale. I know that I use creams and gels, so nothing's totally natural, but I want to wear my texture. I don't want to bother with flatirons, blowouts, Brazilian smoothing, etc. I want to have a nice volume with a good haircut. I understand that the DIY doesn't equal a professional haircut, but it works for me! I've done three of your DIYs and they really keep my hair tidy and organized. As you say, it's "balanced". I love layers. That's my disagreement with many hairstylists I come across. Edit: I haven't cut my hair in 4 months since the last DIY and it's still looking nice.

If I may give you a piece of advice--for tutorials you'd better use lighter colored wigs. The cut can barely be seen with this black hair :)

What can I do with a client with fine thinning hair near the fringe and crown area that wants a pixie? She wants a pixie because she's an older client and can't handle having longer hair that gets in her way.

Just one suggestion, please use light hair heads when wearing a black outfit, or wear a light colored shirt when cutting brunette hair. Otherwise it is a bit hard to follow what you are doing or how the cut looks. Thank you! 💓
