  • At the conclusion of the last Ice Age in North America, approximately 12,000 years ago, at least 60 species became extinct. An ice age is a long period of cooling of the Earth's surface and atmosphere that results in the presence or extension of continental and polar ice sheets and alpine glaciers. The climate of the Earth varies between ice ages and greenhouse times, when there are no glaciers on the planet. The Earth is currently experiencing the Quaternary glaciation. Individual cold climate pulses within an ice age are referred to as glacial eras, and intermittent warm periods within an ice age are referred to as interglacials or interstadials.

    Nice concept, but this is impossible to get a proper visualisation on the actual size of these animals because there's no consistent human for reference, or the full list shown at the end.
