How many hours of power would run on this unit .
This is as perfect as a review gets. Addressed every issue, capabilities, weaknesses, ease of use, even educating us viewers of considerations we probably fail to understand or think about.
Perfect.
Wow, what a nice comment. Thank yu
Great review thanks for doing this. I especially liked your batter safety discussion near the end. Also the lithium iron phosphate vs. lithium ion use discussion is helpful.
A woman here after Hurricane Ian I never want to see another gas generator again in my life I am definitely in the market for one of these and will use your link when I buy I'm going to tell you I appreciate you so much because your reviews are wonderful and actually help me learn I have been wanting one of these for a long time but Jackie never made one big enough to run a refrigerator that is the biggest concern I have is my AC and my refrigerator. Therefore I would want 2 set ups. I would also like to know if they are expandable I like the solar array that's foldable that's cool
I own the 1000 model, and I love it for my use. Jackets, in my opinion, are the best. I'm going on 3 years, and it hasn't failed to me.
I love that huge wago 221 you have on your bench at 8:42.
That was a really cool thing to get from them. I was very excited that they heard me mention it once.
I was looking at the giant Wago connector too. I’m guessing there’s no where to purchase one, it would look cool on my workbench. Great video, thank you for sharing!
Interesting. Have been shopping for a Solar Generator to replace the batteries in my off-grid cabin in the boreal forest. Good video.👍
You covered everything I wanted to know. Thank you.
Excellent review and explanation of the battery choice. The unit seems quite expensive on a usable per kilowatt our basis. Thank you. 👍👍
Good review and 1st review on this product that ive seen
Very nice, thank you. Have two smaller Jackeries and love it.
I’m glad you addresses the battery chemistry. It comes up in every Jackery review. I have always been a fan of theirs and also own some EcoFlow products. I’m glad Jackery is starting to update their product line.
As somehow who doesn’t use their power stations often, I’m realizing the cycles on the different chemistry isn’t as big a factor for me personally. The safety though has always been a concern so I’m glad you addressed that. Years ago I started jumping on the lifepo4 or nothing train so maybe I can start to rethink that a bit for my individual needs. Thanks.
Glad it was helpful. If the weight was the same or you were using it as a built in, daily full use, the iron phosphate is a no brainer but these things are gettign crazy heavy in t=he larger sizes, and I think Jackery is betting their customers want the most portability and will never see any degradation in probably 7+ years or more. Even the old little Jackerys seem to be doing very well for people.
Great Video, Very Informative-Thanks!
Awesome review as always..You need more subs. Really!!!! You explained a lot here for our understanding. Thanks so much.
Thank you, you are really nice to say that.
The charge cycle was really well explained. I get it all now
@@SilverCymbal how can you get ride of these scammers? Tried reporting them?
@@mikag642010 Thansk for sharing this. I know I hate them too, they keep morphing what they write as fast as CZcams blocks them, Hopefully they will figure it out, but always let me know if you get any I will try to get rid of them manually
@@SilverCymbal Roger that!
Awesome and super informative. Thanks.
Excellent product review.
Thank you for that!
I have the Jackery 2000 & the 1500.
Both as back ups for my fridge and microwave.
They are excellent products.
I live in a state were we are not suppose to use our electricity from 4pm to 9 pm, if we do they charge us over 35 KWH, what size would you need to operate a freezer in the garage and the fridge in the house, I figured I would re charge after midnight when electricity is much cheaper.
Thanks for another informative and interesting video!
I'm totally sold! I'm buying this!!!
Can you add in a UPS test please, where you see if it can keep a PC powered under load while charging and with power getting cut out frequently?
I’m looking for one to run a window unit for an elderly couple if the power goes out this Summer.
Great review! Thanks. Do you know what type lithium-ion cells are inside?
I wish they had the jackery app for my 160 watt one
Great review! Always wanted a jackery but so pricey
My jackery 300 explorer works like a charm
Can the battery be replace by shipping unit back to manufacturer and paying costs?
Thanks for explaining the run cycles
Glad it was helpful. thank you
Its not just its bec their battery is NMC but they charge such a premium for it for all their products, even older products. If they would bring the price down closer to the competitions I believe the chemistry of the battery would be less of a concern and more people will be willing to buy it despite it being NMC.
Being that Im in Quartzsite as we speak. I will be buying 3000 watt portable solar generator unit that i can plug my 30 amp into is just what in looking for. There will be plenty of solar venders here shortly for the big tent event. I'll be shopping wisely!!!
do you think this would work for a live dj sound system for about 4 to 5 hours?
Could this power a typical 15 amp power tool, like a miter saw?
I have a refrigerator in my kitchen and one in my garage. During a power outage, could this one 3000 Watt generator power both my refrigerators and a TV for at least 15 hours straight, or would I need 2 generators?
Will we see the Anker 767? I would like to see a comparison of the two. Have a great day.
Yes that will be out in the next week. Not as much output, but its a very nice unit.
Nice.
$2800 to $4K seems pricey, but it might almost be (kWh) competitive with the Tesla Powerwall...?
I wish Tesla would allow their cars to do V2H & power my home during an outage. My Model 3 is basically SIX+ Powerwalls worth of battery.
will this unit run your home in a blackout,Ie furnace fridge and lights
Wish I could get this stuff free like you do
Can you run a heat press on this
Can this be stacked with other similar batteries, connected to home solar, and provide power in the evening?
My understanding is that Jackeries (at least from model 500 and up) support pass-through charging, so nothing stops you from having one (or more) Jackeries charge the next one in sequence, and the last one then powering whatever needs to be powered. That said, I read on Jackery's website that, in order for the battery not to be degraded, the input has to be higher than the output. How much of a degradation and how fast would take place is unclear.
I would like too see it in actual use of a camper trailor, how long could it handle use of both Microwave and air conditioner. As i would like to know if i was to connect it directly to trailor feed, as i want to go off grid and depend on this for use. How long can I both run air-conditioned and in tandem with microwave use.
if you understood what he said. its likely to last only a very short time
I have 1,320 watts of solar wired in series. It's just over 160 VDC. What is the max voltage the Jackery DC solar input? The Solar has to stay in series, it's feeding a heat pump mini-split.
What about the 30amp outlet? And use with RVs? Thoughts on that?
Its a 120V 30anmp outlet so while it is designed for RV's some will use an adapter and power their house with it. 120v circuit only. It's not going to run central air but it will run more loads than most people would think
How did you get a french Minitel ? And why ? What's the story behind ?
I totally get the value of the smaller units, they can be very handy. But I am struggling to imagine a situation where I'd buy this vs. a high-quality, 3,000 watt gas generator. This thing is so expensive it is in the ballpark of a Honda EU3000. Maybe there is some edge case where you just can't have a gas generator no matter what, but I just don't see the logic otherwise. It will be interesting to see how well these sell.
If you are going to be off-grid for a while, the more power the better. And gas would eventually run out, while the sun is going to shine (just about) every day in many locations.
@@bctrafficreview5033 I guess the real problem is actually the capacity of the battery vs the size of the inverter. If you have a 3000 watt inverter, you are going to want to use it to drive big loads, but this battery just isn't large enough to really use it that way for any length of time. You can't even run a single, small window AC all night on a charge. So, for most folks, this is either too much inverter for what you need, or not enough battery for what you plan to use it for.
Regardless what size your solar power station is and the number of solar panels you have, you’re still going to need a way to supplement your power needs & and a portable dual fuel pure sine wave generator fits that bill and complements your power needs night or day.
Have you tested the starting capacitor on the compressor?
I probably should, its a great compressor and fucntions well. It is so bad that once I left it on accidentally we were on generator (Harbor Frieght 7000 watt) and it kept failing. It was old bertha trying to start up. Its just a horrible motor but good for a nasty overload test
Man, I just need something to backup my refrigerator during a power outage. Will a Jackery 1000 be enough for that?
I need something that can ideally put out 30 amp via a 120v outlet. It could potentially work on a 20 amp outlet. Would this work? Would it be possible to run via the 240v outlet and get a 240v to 120v outlet? For context I need to power a car lift every couple months while in a rental home. It requires 30 amp through a 120v outlet. Currently runs on 20 amp and trips the breaker every once in a while.
Late response but it probably could through the 30 amp RV port.
Great video i like jackery with exception of battery design they need to get with the program with LIFEPO4 the standard lithium ion has to go fewer charge cycles and has history of explosion malfunction come on jackery address this and you will be untouchable
What you don’t realize is some of these companies in this business have small teams and maybe no electrical engineer doing hardware development that has a degree. Also LIFEpo4 doesn’t weight near twice as much as the NMC, but maybe 40% more. Great trade off for safety, and to last twice as long.
Thoughts on Anker Powerhouse 767 vs a comparable sized Jackery? Which one would you spend your money on?
I would choose the 767 amzn.to/3MJQmAE mainly that it has more features and is Lithium Iron phosphate batteries. I personally use my potables a LOT so charges cycles and life of the batteries is a bigger deal for me. But the Jackery does have more output so if you had to have that and were ok with the standard batteries the Jackery is a good choice. But if I was buying today the 767 would get my money.
@@SilverCymbal I’m wanting about 4K watt solar back up that won’t be used unless we lose gas as well as electricity. And I’m not a camper. So is Anker Powerhouse 767 + 760 expansion your pick versus any other?
Nice 😎🤝
Mechanic here. I've dropped my power tool batteries several times and still haven't had one die. I've seen batteries that are held together with electrical tape that could easily be forgiven for dying or blowing up but are still working.
Will this thing power a refrigerator deep freezer and TV for any amount of time
Yes 24-36 for a fridge, maybe a bit more for a freezer
I gotta get this one .
Is it lithium iron phosphate?
Nice “minitel” ! that’s an antique 😅
Personally, I don't like how Jackery is proprietary in that they try to make you use their solar panels. They have made some steps to finally get closer to Bluetti and Ecoflow with this model but they can still do better. I know the lighter chemistry will appeal to some and will in turn be more portable. But since mine is being used everyday and not being moved around that much. I will go for a little heavier battery and a battery that will outperform this one 5+ years from now
Positive Comment!!!
That’s an awesome generator and it looks extremely cool. I only wish that I made enough money to be able to afford to pay $4,000.00 for one. Unfortunately, when the power goes out, I’ll be sitting in the dark with all of the other poor folks hoping at least my beer stays cold. Great video!!!
Get a smaller unit. They will have less capacity, but, at least, will give you some power for a bit. And you can always simultaneously charge them with solar panels to extend the run time (I believe models Jackery 500 and bigger support pass-through charging, though Jackery recommends that the input be higher than the output to prevent battery degradation over time).
Finally they got a real power unit?
Mine has been plugged in for almost 2 hours and not rising!
Ma'am interesado ako. Sa Solar Portable Generator how much pls inform me Thanks
I have alot of battery anxiety especially when camping. I much prefer a cheap gasoline or propane generator that will run all day and night on a few liters of fuel. They are cheap, reliable and relatively quiet.
You could always hook your generator up to one of these and charge it when it runs low.
@@sociopathmercenaryMost camping spots (at least the places ive camped) does not allow anyone to run a gas generator after 10pm. These portable batteries are safe regardless of brand and if you are scared it might blow up on you, you can always buy a long extension cord.
how match?
My issue is how it handles drills and hammer drills. I figure a vacuum is less "noisy."
It should have no issue with those, as long as there running watts are under 3000 watts
But how much solar input can it take? That becomes the bottleneck with this niche of units usually. LION batteries are a dealkiller for me thought, I want to be using it in 5 years for that price
1400 watts of solar input
@@SilverCymbal I'd buy a LiFe model even if it were bigger and heavier
Any chance you can charge an EV with this? Any way you could test on how fast ti would charge a tesla or Rivian or ??
Wondering if it would serve as an emergency backup unit if you were going off grid camping in your EV. Using the solar panels would also help if you camped for multiple days in the sunshine.
Um... An EV battery is going to be twenty or thirty times the size of this. If you could charge your EV with it, you're only going to get a couple of miles
@@sociopathmercenary only need a few miles- thanks
@@tontonn9995 From Jackery's site: "No, you cannot use the Jackery power station to charge an electric car."
Waiting for a 250000 watt Unit.
I’m trying to understand how they went from 500 cycles to 2000?
They didn't really go to 2000. The batteries are only 100% capacity for 600 or so cycles, they go to 70 after 1000 or more. But it degenerates 1%, 2%, etc. I absolutely love lithium iron phosphate dont get me wrong, but the weigjt is terrible if you want to move one easily and most peopel use about 10 charge cycles per month at most. Some even less, so will the batteries become noticely bad over time? yes but how long do any of these stay relevant. Its really up to you and what matters most, price etc.
will this work if i want to charge my car ? i have a ioniq 5 hyundai 2023
Late reply but yes, but only about 10 or 11 miles before it dies.
Is it expandable, please answer. Thank you
Its not
$2700.00!!!!
It's fine that they choose to use a lighter and less expensive battery. But then they price it higher than the more expensive battery. And they have no control over their factories. There will be knock offs all over amazon for less than half the price within months. For those two reasons there is absolutely no reason to buy this unit for almost 3000 dollars. I'm sure Jackery will soon find out that few people will pay that much.
With tax it's 4200 but dies come with a 200 watt solar panel think
Over priced shit
@@Anjanya1948 On Jackery's official website, the 3000 Pro sells for $2799.00. Jackery also offers a package of the 3000 Pro and 2 x 200 watt portable solar panels for $3999.00>
@poopsmcgee2k6 you may be surprised the money people be spending
You get what you pay for. Would you want to buy a cheap knockoff or from a reputable brand? Granted they’re all made in China
Imagine charging this on 240/16a. Would take even less time if they have it built into that. Would be great to see a video of you taking it apart, if you can even take it apart. I wish these units and other manufacturers made it easy to remove and replace the batteries, pretty much like every UPS manufacturer does.
Here is a major issue I have with every single battery on the market. It needs a 240 volt port at 30 amps. I am not trying to run a dryer, or a stove. I need to run a well pump during an outage. It pulls maybe 1200 watts. I need to hook a NEMA L14-30P to L14-30R Generator Cord into a 30 amp generator inlet which goes yo a switch. Considering European versions get the 240 volt options. Take the European version and split the phases for American 120 volt and provide one 240 volt port that disables the 120 volt if necessary to pull this off.
I just need to be able to power a well pump and boiler without having yo invest 10k for two batteries and a connector kit.
Is it common that 240V applications in the US?
Have you found a solution for this? To power a well pump?
Im stupid. How long could you run a gaming laptop on this at full charge
At that price point I'd still choose a Honda EU3000is over this any day.
That's a great generator. Some people will never buy gas, it's not the eco stuff. It's the engine, gasoline, etc. Battery units are a good option for those or many want to use solar, etc. Also,I will be showing an small propane generator people have been asking me about for a while which adds another option in the mix too, coming soon. It's nice to have options
Both is the way to go.
Is it expandable?😊
Is that a masturbation joke? 🤣
Do you know how much can it charge a Tesla? Thank you.
Silver Cymbal WHY do your clips have you talking in them but you just do a voice over anyways lol I have always noticed this, just curious
That is a really good question. Its like I am talking to no one, I know. I will almost always record audio live but because I might be the last youtuber that doesn't accept scripts and talking points, I truly say what I see and experience. But sometimes, honestly it comes out bad or I miss stuff and when I review my videos if I feel I missed too much or don't like it I will do a voiceover to try to cover everything.
@@SilverCymbal got it. Thanks for the great videos!
No LiFePo4 battery, No deal at that price!
We have used the czcams.com/users/postUgkxOTeIs0vv4_9B5hsmnLsk9r930uDQLu_Y for probably 30 hours with our camper and it’s been great! The noise level is really only noticeable when running the AC and other appliances like the microwave, hair dryer, or coffee pot. It’s not huge like other ones and it has wheels so even at 90lbs, I can move it!
So the ecoflow delta pro is cheaper and better huh?
It isn't cheaper but it is better in the sense of more features and LiFePO4. But there is a difference, the Delta Pro is superb in fixed spots but aren't going to carry it around with you. So if you wanted 3000watt output and lightweight for daily carry the Jackery could be an option. You give up features for lightweight. If the weight doesn't matter the DP is an amazing power station
Price?
08:25
Jackrey me off withthose prices!
2 Add extra battery
Ah but will power your entire rv?
It still looks like they have the same solar panel plugs (their own). If so, big mistake.
Yes I would prefer just universal but there is an adaptor made: amzn.to/3TYLmda
My concern is when charging at 1800w, you are going over the recommended current of the circuit. Most wall outlet circuits are rated for 15A at 120v. The max recommended usage of the circuit is 80% of the circuit rating. This means the maximum recommended running wattage for a 120v @ 15A is 1440 watts. I hope you are using a 20A circuit to charge at 1800w.
Good point, it didn't trip my 15amp break but you can lower the charging speed rate in the app to force it to charge at lower wattages. This is especially useful if you were using a tiny gas generator to charge it off grid.
Emergency back-up battery for cpap machine
Giant WAGO's lol
I love that thing, I put a little community post on my page about that here: czcams.com/channels/67dKTEwpAhKv2oYDATwR8g.htmlcommunity just scroll down a few
That looks like a nice and expensive battery, but I don’t consider it a generator. The power is stored in the battery, it’s not generating.
Why the F do you have a french minitel ???? I haven't seen those since the end of the 90s
ok...I know nothing about watts, kilowatts, kilowatts hours...
...question: can I hook up my refrigerator during an electric blackout?
Can it charge an EV?
Yes
Hopefully wifi can be disabled otherwise trickle power loss
respectfully for this type of money a cell phone comparison not a persuasive comparison , i respectfully disagree with that , its more about charge cycles longevity as well
Why don't you ever answer my question? Are you Kipkay?
I get that question a lot and also if I am the honey badger guy
@@SilverCymbal Thanks for answering. Keep up the great videos!
Lithium ion will begin to degrade immediately. Typically, the drop-off in capacity is sharp at the beginning but then levels off.
This is the same chemistry used in all Model 3 long ranges.
Prediction: Jackery will continue to lose market share to Bluetti and Ecoflow.
I honestly thought that 2 years ago, but I think the market for these is 100x bigger than I even though. We are all a little different, I don't use solar that much, others thats all they use. Some get built in, so LiFePO4 is the only way to go, other use them for work. I even used two original Deltas at a medical site outdoors running centrifuges during covid. So its all over the board. They are so useful I think its just getting bigger and bigger so maybe there is room for everything?
Jackery's target is outdoor activities the se the lighter unit. This in not the unit for 24/7 home use, you should get a powerwall in that case to allow selling unused energy. I would defintely not use a Bluetti or Ecoflow and not able to resell that extra electricity
What! no MC4 connectors. You have to use their over priced panels.....
Cool but pricey $2800
