I grew up in Avon Buildings in the early 70s. Many happy memories building camps under the railway bridge and climbing along the green pipe bridge to get to my Gran's house in Burton. Happy days...
I love this place spent many years as a child there fishing with my Mum and Dad ,both unfortunately deceased. But some lovely memories and I will be back to fish .I remember when the bridge was green .Thank you for sharing this video :-)
I`ve fished here myself........caught a few salmon parr down near the footbridge, using a centrepin and trotting with maggots. Did some lure fishing next to the railway bridge and landed a jack on an abu plug. The water was quite clear and I saw the take init`s entirety......awesome. I`m surprised you never filmed in the anglers rest room they have there, with cased fish antique tackle, fishing books and plenty of old photos.......
Thanks for this Charly. You covered everything. I fished here as a boy .... about 45 years ago! Now if you can upload to CZcams you should be able to use a video editor ;-)
Was done there last week fishing was poor very few fish about and over 4 days only caught 1 small barbel saw nothing caught by the few anglers on the river not worth the £14 per day nothing moving where have all the fish gone
superb video. i travel there once a year from sussex with my dad to fish for barbel in autumn. gorgeous fishery, but SO much weed in most of it its largely unfishable. bait gets lost and snagged up and doesn't even reach the river bed. any advice on how to fish it would be gratefully received!!
Rather than have a fixed bait on the bottom a large lump of Spam is attached to the hook, cast out and is allowed to roll along the river bed without hindrance.
fish all the swims from1959 to1980 the good times dick walker stoney in the boat swim ect bob seth jhon seth to much reg now shame only one sea trout in the brige pool times bad

Excellent video Tom,
Railway bridge, parlour pool and pipes all synonymous with some lovely Avon Carp captures.

I had 24 hours in total on the Royalty and Throop and blanked. The River Swale is poor this year.
Looks good water for the bubble and fly.
Last time I fished here was 79

Interesting stuff. Is there a policy on rowing boat / canoe access?
The river looks gorgeous. Shame about some of the scenery.
Concessionary £8-50 to fish it all except for small areas like the weir pool. Have a look at their web site.
most of it is on a single ticket, go to Davis tackle website.
Nice Video Tom what sort of price are the day tickets you seem to have a lot of river to go at or are the tickets broken down between stretches??
Where are the salmon hot spots....?
In summer the spot he was fishing under the bank and also harrigans through to watersmeet
"This little bit is called piles".
It's because it's a pain in the arse to fish!
Tom I am from U S , what does rolling meat mean ?
