I stupidly lost my login password. I would love any help you can give me.
I'm in the process of learning wood carving in order to make my fictional book as realistic as possible. Thanks.
Dick Francis did that - his wife Mary did the research. Everything, art, photography and she even learned to fly a plane!

Holy crap! this is THE guy that skin colored bandages were made for.
+jay sullivan Yeah when I first noticed that I was like "*teeth gasp* his finger is messed up that looks really gross" but then I realized it was a bandaid.
Nocx I have heard of "Man Hands" but...GOD DAMN!!!
i think 90% of his skin is wood dust
Shut up
Any job in woodworking/carpentry that he interviews for would be given to him just on the handshake alone because they would take one look at those hands and know that he most definitely work a saw or two....

I have a normal sized rubber mallet. It's really light and helps me a lot because of it's effect from the rubber. It gives me a chance to hammer with more subtlety on the chisels and gives me more control.
One of the best teachers I have ever known and a true gentleman to boot.
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR SHARING YOUR WONDERFUL WOODWORKING EXPERTISE!!!

@@allandavidson5342 speak for yourself. I'm an archery coach and I'm only 19.
Younger people actually have an easier time learning things so can become a expert more quickly than an adult if they have the drive and put in the effort.
Thank you MASTER you let me know more about basic carving tools and knowledge. GOOD LIFE

Great Video for Beginners
I recently started carving, I love it, I challenge myself drawing patterns that I know that I have to figure out on my own how to do.
I love this craft, I got sick of "painting" using the same material over and over again.
But this is really fun!
Only problem is, I find it hard to stop, I can go for maybey 5-hours, haha..
Also I can't find curved chisels anymore, so I work with straight and an variete of files.
Glad you liked it! Have you seen the accompanying blog post? It shows where to find all the carving gouges: woodandshop.com/wood-carving-tools-techniques
I have saved the link, into my "morning coffe" folder, things I read at morning with my coffe.
What I really like is how you can feel the difference between types of woods.
I cut my own pieces and we have alot of variety of wood/plants.
What I have noticed is that the decorative carvings on an old sawhandle I found, it's not that complicated, it's something I could do now. My main goal is working with wood as an art, but compared to working with pen and paper, I can use this in everyday life.
Hardest thng is remebering which way the grain is, haha!
@@Lunkefan1 me too, do you curve spoons?
Ha! The honest answer is I have absolutely no idea what i'm doing!
Or rather, I'm learning on my own with old tools that are maybe 80+ year old.
So I just try to work around my limitations, and the supply of tools in my town sucks, so I only got straight steels to work with which makes making any curved shape a pain, but I prefer to improvise with whatever I got.
The one thing I have to learn is the sticky stuff, like varnish ? My English seems to have given up on me here, but I hope you'll be able to decipher my text, haha.
Thank you l but it and l want to learn l to used and you do nice work.🇺🇸🇨🇱
love This Craft.
Awesome! Thanks!
Great Video, you should feature some more carving videos on your channel. Well Done.
