Black Mirror creator Charlie Brooker talks about fan speculation that two of the story lines in the Black Museum episode of season 3 bore a strange resemblance to ideas and stories previously suggested by Karl Pilkington as part of the Ricky Gervais Show. Charlie Brooker finally addresses speculation that Karl's ideas for The Love Of Two Brains and his musings on medical technology allowing doctors to share their patients feelings could have been the inspiration for Black Mirrors eerily similar plots.

Nixer Doyle well Penn Jillette directed the episode and would have given his permission to use his story. So it’s not just giving credit to someone not involved.

It's the body language of someone trying to not be angry I'd argue. He's clearly been accused of this casually, jokingly or seriously several times and is trying to act flippant when it clearly does annoy him to be repeatedly accused
Found this while watching the episode and wondered if Karl Pilkington had fleshed out his initial idea...nope. If Rebecca De Mornay appears before the end I'll have mixed feelings.

I honestly think he’s a shameless liar, the fact that both of Karl’s ideas were in one episode is, I think, proof that they listened to Karl’s idea and adapted it into an episode. True genius is often unappreciated in it’s time.
It’s really strange because why would he steal from something so well known? Why not just reach out to Karl, give him a “story by” credit and get him some money for his ideas? All of us KP fans would have loved that. He’s either a shameless liar like you say or someone pitched him these ideas and he used them without knowing where they came from.

It's from "The Future" podcasts where he says people will have glasses which can reimagine surroundings/local landscapes.
Agreed but that wasn't exactly an original idea in 2002 was it, that's been in all sorts of science fiction since the 60s
His idea was glasses that make you see the world differently, so you could be going down an alleyway filled with graffiti and bins and you'd see a quaint French village side street with baskets of croissants, for example.
We don't have that yet, but I don't think he's wrong. I reckon we will have that. I guess it's sort of already there in some aspect, like that Pokemon Go game on smartphones.
Karl also predicted the possibility of life on Pluto, an idea which Ricky absolutely ridiculed him for due to the lack of water. Karl was like "maybe it's underground?" and again got called an idiot. Somewhere around 2016 scientists discovered from the New Horizon probe that there might well be a liquid ocean hidden deep under the ice, sustained by the core.
It's possible he's telling the truth. Some of his body language suggests otherwise but that could just be embarrassment.

At the end of the day, Karl had some good enough ideas to make some money on as black mirror eventually proved. Its a shame he couldnt and someone else did.

Karl's idea was also similar to the book Pain Peddlers and movie Strange Days. So if you're sure Karl didn't copy anything AND that this man copied Karl, then you should consider lending your supernatural powers to the justice system.
