    Brooker and Black Mirror are a breath of fresh air in entertainment. As it becomes more and more popular, watch everyone else try to copy the show. It really reminds me of the old Twilight Zone episodes.

    One of the few things worth watching on TV these days - it's about time the BBC paid for this type of drama rather than paying millions to get a bunch of C list "celebrities" (or worse) to dance, bake or travel the world at the licence payer's expense.
    And don't even get me started on BBC3!

    I have not seen an average episode of Black Mirror. Best show every! I dont mind if they revisited San Junipero in the future, just with darker elements with an all new cast. That would be a great take on it.

      @ThemeParkChomp Před 6 lety +4

      San Junipero was a great episode like the others but with a slightly different feel. But dont know why people have to get obsessed with it by putting it on some sort of huge pedestal and demand a sequel. What could a sequel do but disappoint anyone. There were just as good/better episodes in the series too

      Black Mirror has been described as the modern-day Twilight Zone.

      Michael Moody Then you fail to understand the nature of Trump. Trump is not Bush, not even W. Trump is not Reagan. (Mind you, Reagan would be considered a leftie by the current GOP if he were alive today.) Trump is not Nixon, however much he aspires to be. Trump is Trump, luckily as of yet a president sui generis.
      Sure, Hillary is corrupt. Sure, there is a swamp in Washington that needs draining. Trump is part of that swamp. How could he not be, as a billionaire who as we speak is breaking US law by refusing to put his money in a blind trust?When Trump speaks on North Korea, he does so as a man who owns a hotel in Seoul. When Trump discusses Putin, he does so as a man with massive business interests in Russia. When Trump takes a day off-which he does more often than any other president in recent history, by the way-he publicly does so at his own resorts. The president's own spokeswoman explicitly promoted his daughter's brand on live television! Trump's main political agenda at the moment is pushing through tax breaks for the rich. The ones responsible for helping him with this are a cabinet composed, leaving the generals aside, of CEOs and lobbyists!
      Sure, politicians lie. Trump does nothing but lie. Go to any fact-checking website, and you'll see that Trump scores worse not only than Hillary, but than any political figure alive. Trump doesn't lie occasionally to cover stuff up. He lies all the time, effortlessly and seemingly without realizing that he is lying. Trump has that sociopathic inability to understand why people make so much fuss about truth. He is less a liar and more a man beyond truth and falsehood. His entire persona is a lie. He switches position all the time, going from being a Hillary supporter as recently as 2008, expressing opinions Americans would consider liberal, to being a die hard right winger in 2016. He provides a bogus document from a doctor claiming he has the best health ever, yet he is visibly overweight and older than Reagan was when he assumed his presidency. He isn't even a successful businessman, for goodness sake! He inherited an enormous fortune, yet still managed to bankrupt himself six times. He would have been a richer man today had he just put all his inheritance in a cheap index fund and left it brewing.
      Sure, the US has been a surveillance and police state for a while. Obama only made that situation worse, neglecting warnings that the surveillance apparatus he built up could easily end up in the hands of someone like Trump. US police were arresting and murdering civilians for bogus reasons under Obama as well. Trump, however, is different. When a sheriff who by his own admission has put up concentration camps is put on trial, Trump pardons him. That's what I call being soft on crime! Trump takes action to end programs aimed at bringing down the number of murders committed by police officers. He has expressed sympathy for the idea of government registers of the religious affiliation of US citizens. He has threatened political opponents with arrest. Has there been a single Trump rally where Trump has not expressed and cultivated disdain for the free press? Trump has said he wants libel laws to sue journalists. He has he wants a comprehensive crackdown on government whistleblowers, calling them low-lifes. He has expressed sympathy for despotic world leaders who kill critical voices in their own country, including Kim Jong Un.
      Sure, the US is racist to the core and has always been. Watch Fox News for twenty minutes if you don't believe me. After that, read up on the founding fathers and how they thought of the slaves they owned. If you're still not convinced, ask yourself why Martin Luther King was met with such massive resistance for saying rather common-sense things. Obama, for all his flaws, represented a landmark in the struggle to free America of this heritage. Trump, on the other hand, said of the Charlottesville nazis that they were fine people. He was endorsed by the KKK, yet claimed ignorance as to who David Duke, who endorsed him, is. Of course, there are earlier interviews where Trump speaks at length about David Duke. Trump denounces black athletes for protesting racial violence. Trump, ever the chickenhawk, denounces non-white gold star families if they aren't supportive enough of him. He demands that black people be thankful towards him. Only a narcissistic racist could make issues of racial injustice be about personal loyalty to him.
      Sure, American presidents are murderers. I cannot speak for earlier presidents, but I am certain that in a just world, every American president since WW2 would have been hanged for war crimes. W is an unrepentant warmonger. Obama must never be allowed to wash the blood of Pakistani children off his hands. Trump rants like a kindergartener on twitter, casually threatening millions with "fire and fury" in the process. He claims that a US carrier group is headed to the Korean peninsula, when it is not. This creates uncertainty and confusion. You do not want to hear the words confusion and nuclear war in the same sentence. Trump sows doubt about the US commitment to article five of the NATO treaty, increasing risk of hostilities at the edge of the Russian empire. Is this the kind of person that reassures you everything is alright and the world will go on?
      I have not even mentioned how Trump is a confessed sexual predator, and how his relations to the Putin regime are shady at best, with a number of his close associates currently under prosecution for what is basically treason. These things are enormously serious, don't misunderstand me, but if you aren't convinced at this point, I fear you'll never be.
      So, unlike say a Mitt Romney or Mike Pence victory, a Trump victory means the end of the world in (at least) two ways:
      1. There is a very real risk that Trump will stumble into nuclear war. We can only hope that he perceives his personal business interests as being best served by nuclear peace. Personally, I put the probability of Trump starting a nuclear war, particularly a global one, at less than fifty percent.
      2. There is a very real, already actualized, way in which the Trump victory meant the end of the world: It is arguably a collapse of American civilization, on par with how WW1 meant European civilization had to fundamentally rethink and reform itself. Things cannot go on as the have after Trump, the world is irrevocably changed. For anyone believing in the power and importance of truth, argument, and reason, the victory of Trump provides ample evidence that reason has lost its grip on America, if that grip was ever there. Trump had nothing to bring to the table but lies and bumbling incoherence. It was not a case of Trump's word against the press, but of Trump's word against himself. Still, he won. The American people, by sufficient minority, chose lies over truth, fantasy over reality, the sexual predator over the woman. If you are invested in and identify with American civilization, that should be the end of the world for you. Welcome to the post-apocalypse, we'll give you not just one but two scoops of ice cream!

      You obviously watch a lot of CNN and felt the need to write this HUGE reply to me. Remember when everybody said Republicans were the "doom and gloom" party? Times change. You're a drama queen in a theater packed to the gills! I'd say Trump winning proves reason still exists and is a stand against SJW/prog thinking that wants to rewrite history, kill babies right up until the moment of birth, and pretend there's more than 2 sexes. Putin and Russia? Really? There has been no evidence, period, and still your ilk goes on and on about this. Russia didn't vote in our polls. Americans did. End of. As far as your sexual predator CNN crap goes, all his accusers vanished after the election (almost like they were paid by the DNC or something) and his comments about Alice Cooper-like groupies who threw themselves at him because he's extremely wealthy years ago really hurt your feelings, huh? Grow up, LOL!
