Drop a like for the algorithm and let me know what you think 👍
I thought it was mostly known that the 4080 super has no performance uplift to its non-super variant. Biggest attraction to this card is the price
Well it’s has 2% more performance 😂
Yeah, even if Nvidia can’t drop their prices, I’ll welcome the price cut and hope the baseline for cards next gen keep following the price downtrend
There is some performance uplift but its just a small amount. Like you said the biggest attraction really is the price reduction which i more than welcome
It is more than 2-3%. Especially in lows. In 4k I've seen 5-7% more performance.
Even that "attraction" is not much of anything. In lot of countries 4080 super is still at 1200 USD mark lol. maybe 50 dollars cheaper but that's it.
Hello, do you know anything about the inno3d ichill x3 card? How does she show herself?
would you say the 16 gigs of v ram is enough on the 4080 for the next couple of years? or do you think the 7900xtx 24 gigs of v ram is a bettter option even if performance is worsef
yeah, below 50 FPS with FG on is pretty bad. I sometimes play with 90 average with FG and you can still feel it, but at that point the input lag difference to FG off is small.
I mean it is PT so it makes sense its do demanding. CDPR even said its for future tech but you can play it with the highest end cards now with some compromises
My settings:
1440p, Path Tracing + FG + RR + DLSS Quality and I am happy. It is usually >110 fps, I barely notice any blur/smear and the picture is sharp enough especially in motion. I cannot street enough how much depth PT gives this game. A completely different experience and new levels of immersion.
I just built a computer with a brand new 4080 super in it running it through a 1440p monitor and will remember your settings for when I pick up Cyberpunk soon! Does it look amazing in terms of the graphical fidelity?
How's the latency
@@nabz5538 I’ve tried his settings now and can tell you for the purposes of single player gaming latency is fine and I really barely noticed a difference. It’s pretty normal. If there’s a real dip in responsiveness for the purposes of playing Cyberpunk it’s barely noticeable.
@@nabz5538 latency from FG is insignificant. It is about 40ms.
Put it on high instead of ultra and be impressed with the results!
I bought this graphic card to upgrade from my 6600 XT to RTX 4080 to play on Ultra-Settings. Tho I only play 2K Gaming. Can I run like almost all games on ultra? And was it a smart decision to upgrade from a pretty okay graphic card 6600 XT? Since I struggle to play games like Cyberpunk, Helldivers 2, Call Of Duty (only on low settings)
this card is overkill for 1440p so ya, you are good lol. you should get like 120fps in Cyberpunk with DLSS quality, FG and RT overdrive. and that is your worst performing game
I just got a 4070 Super and am able to run Cyberpunk with on DLSS performance with everything maxed out + RT and PT and I’m able to get 60fps most of the time, the only time it ever really dips is with phantom Liberty, and even then it still stays in the high 50’s. Would the $400 be worth the upgrade?
I have the 4080 Super, I've only tested it on Horizon: Zero Dawn and Forza Horizon, but at the most demanding settings they both are capable of running 120 FPS the whole time.
Hey, did you OC the GPU ? i have a 4080 super and the clock is around 2650 all the time. I have seen other videos with a rtx 4080 where the clock is around 2850. This must be OC then right?
Idk about this but my 4070Ti has been running 3Ghz stable for half a year now
Did you try manually overclocking since we spoke about it?
@@BenchmarkBoy nope not yet, i ordered a new one to see if there is a difference, after that have more information
@@solelunaofficial well if you've ordered the same gpu model its going to have the same clock speed out of the box. If you want a higher clock just manually overclock it
@@cosmic_gate476it probably won't render video and throw gpu overload message
I'm considering upgrading my 3080 12GB to the 4080 Super just more leverage for 4k gaming. The 3080 is fine for what I have with 4k, but it does show it's struggle when I upgraded to a C2 OLED TV as a monitor. For Raytracing I do use it if able to but isn't a priority. If only the 4090 was actually priced well, I would of gone for that...isn't an option at the moment. But I do plan to resell the 4080 super once 5000 series comes out at a fair price towards the upgrade.
My target is 60fps minimum and hopefully able to reach 120fps in some titles.
Sound like me. 3080 10gb + 4k 120hz Oled here. The issue I'm caught between a GPU that isn't that much of an upgrade an a GPU that is too overpriced. I love how Nvidia was smart enough to not release a proper x80ti this time, basically a fuck you to anyone thinking they might get any sort of discount on the 102.
I've just ordered a new build with a 4080 super and plan to do the exact same thing, sell the gpu and upgrade to a 50 series if I need it. I tried to hold out for the 5090 to release but my 1080ti is giving up and it had to be done.
I think the sweet spot for this game is 1440p DLSS with ray tracing on also the mode u had it were it was 4k auto that too ran smooth when combat happened really nice to see a 4080 or 4080 super can do 4K maybe not native for every game. But lets be real PC gamers we play for the frame rate not really for the resolutions.
Which preset would you recommend that looks the best maxed out for a balance of visuals and performance? Im getting a 4080 super next week and will be playing on a 65inch 4k oled?
Thanks
Are you planning on using ray tracing/path tracing?
@@BenchmarkBoy yeah i was hoping to have everything turned on if possible
I wonder what it will take to run this at 80-90 FPS at native 4K max settings with RT Overdrive. The 4090 gets around 25-30 FPS average at those settings.
Probably a rtx 6090
@gamingcomputers7485 Maybe. The 5090 is expected to be over twice as fast as the 4090 in ray traced games, and that's not even meant to be the full chip. This is coming from reliable leakers such as Kopite7Kimi and RedGamingTech. A 5090 Ti could be 2.5x faster than a 4090 Ti on the full AD102 chip if Nvidia decides to go with the bleeding edge route.
@@Gamer-q7vI doubt 5090 will be twice as fast as 4090. More like 50-70%, in the best case scenario. But taking into account the fact that nor AMD, neither Intel are going to compete in the high end segment with Nvidia next gen, 5090 might be just 30-40% faster. It is enough to make 4090 owners to upgrade.
@stangamer1151 If Nvidia decides to go with the bleeding edge route for the RTX 50 Series, such as going with a custom TSMC 3N node, using GDDR7, ramping up the clock speeds significantly, increasing IPC by a large margin, and other big advancements to the overhaul of the architecture, then I can definitely see the 5090 being over 2x faster than the 4090, at least in RT games. The RTX 5090 was originally expected to be released in Q1 2025. However, most leakers are now saying that it has been delayed further into 2025. Probably because there is no need for a 5090 earlier than Q2 2025, especially with the launch of RTX 40 Super that just happened this year.
High end and enthusiast RDNA 4 has been scrapped due to chiplet problems, apparently, so leaks are saying AMD will be focusing on the midrange segment for RDNA 4, so hopefully Nvidia will face some tough competition soon, even if it’s only in the midrange segment. Battlemage should be launcing soon. If Battlemage ends up being a massive performance increase over Alchemist with good drivers and reasonable prices, Intel should definitely earn quite a bit of market share in the gaming market, and hopefully that will convince Nvidia and AMD to do better in the gaming market. AMD is rumoured to return to the high end and enthusiast class segment with RDNA 5, and Celestial shouldn't be too far away from launching then as well. So, hopefully, there will be strong competition in the gaming market in the next few years. The PC gaming market desperately needs competition. When there is a lack of competition, everything rapidly goes downhill, which has been the case in the PC gaming market. The latest leaks have said AMD is creating a £450 midrange GPU for RDNA 4 with 4080 levels of performance. If this turns out to be true, that will have a massive benefit to the gaming market, and Nvidia would need to get their shit together if they want to have any chance of competing.
Try memory tuned with gear 1.. ratio. Should increase 40-60%
I didn't think it could be ran with gear 1 on intel with ddr5? As far as im aware intel ddr5 doesn't work with gear 1
I bought an 4080 Super. Once it arrives, I'll replace my 2080 with it.
I hope you have a cpu capable enough for that, also make sure to install a sag bracket because it will sag
very nice!
What fps overlay do you use?
msi afterburner and rivatuner
ur loss fps for recording?
What I get out of this video is that we probably only need a card with 128gb of Vram and double the clock speeds and we essentially have a real life simulation going on..................................................... 10 more years BOIZZZZZZ
You may still be display Bound.
@@RohanSanjith ahhh yes very good point!
@@RohanSanjith Neuro Link might help with that if one wants to go all in.
😂
No point i mean the 4080 super is a beast just cost less and gives you a very slight uplift. To me any uplift for less money is great. Or just get the 4070 ti super and get really close for even less money.
I’ve just built a 7800x3d 32gb rig, just not decided on the gpu, this video is convincing me to just go for a 4070 or super and wait for the next lot of cards, seems like a 4080 should of been called the 4070 and the 4090 the 4080, all that money and power for the 4080 and your still trying to find a compromise to get the game to run smooth, what about Arma 4 and gta 6 and future games, feel a bit ripped off if I bought this card I think
tbh the 4090 is very much a 4090. The 4080 should have been a 4070 though and the real 4080 would have been closer to a 4090. I mean look at how much of a gap there is between the two.
I trying to choose my next graphic card, I was on this one at first but i'm so disapointed now. I look perks from rx 6700, 46 fps in 4K ultra with FSR2 and this one 50 ? 400$ versus 1100$ ? Can someone show me the way I'm loose lol. I just want to play next gen game in full perf 60 fps
you're misunderstanding. I'm using path tracing here at 4k with 50 fps. The rx 6700 would be less than 10 fps with path tracing on
@@BenchmarkBoy Ohhh my bad, I see that, thank's for you're response. Without tracing technologie how much fps do you think you can get with these ? Because if we had some mod put discord and stuff it may be unplayable with path tracing.
@@pullup3041 if you switch path tracing and ray tracing off you're looking to gain about 30-50 fps on average depending on the resolution you're playing
@@BenchmarkBoy Nice thanks a lot !
Will i be able to get the same results only with a R5 5600x?
No, probably not. It will be less especially at the lower resolutions
It will be less, but not much less. The bottleneck here is the GPU, not the CPU. There are plenty videos on YT comparing 5600x vs 5800x3D both combined with high end GPU. The difference is only marginal after 1080p. If you have 5600x (as I do) and 120Hz display there is no point upgrading cpu and gpu at the same time. It is better to invest all the money you have for upgrade in gpu. Again - if you are playing at 2K or 4K. 4080S is great GPU for that scenario, and you can always buy 5800x3D when the price drops.
Shame you didn't go to some more intensive areas in city center, like where V lives,
Where v lives is really not that much different in terms of fps. I've always found jig jig street drops your frames more
imagine testing gpus with FG on for god sake.....WE WANT PURE RASTER power, no fake frames and stuff.
I do test raster. Watch the whole video
Everyone is testing FG, just because you don't want it doesn't mean we don't as well 😅
Hey nice bench, however i think something is not right, you should get more fps with a 14900k ,my 5800x3d has much higher fps, but every test video shows that the 14900k beats the 5800x3d with the same graphicscard in this game, just saying :)
which resolution? how much fps difference?
@@BenchmarkBoy 1440p the difference are 20 fps i get round about 130 to 140 fps Raytracing pathtracing dlls quality and Framegen on and i use a normal 4080 without super.
@@knubivandubi5797 is it exactly the same area?
Cyberpunk native wont be playable until the 7090 comes out.
you're probably right! 😬
What percent is your gpu any bottleneck ?
99% which means the GPU is the bottleneck, as it should be.
It's so much more power efficient than the 7900 XTX
yep, the 40 series overall is pretty power efficient
Should i buy the 7900XTX or the 4080Super
will you be using ray tracing?
@@BenchmarkBoy do you use it? Is it useful for multiplayer games? I dont see any advantage, the look is minimal better but it sucks without a stop
I just purchased both of them and spent a week testing all of my games. Close call but decided on the 4080s. They are essentially even until you turn on RT/DLSS. I really wanted to go with the XTX but can't justify it at only $30 less...
u from Germany? Price is a lil different here, the 4080s being several hundred Euros more expensive.
Still, I'm thinking on grabbing the 4080s because of Cyberpunk Pathtracing specifically and the better efficiency. However, I really really wanted to have all the reasons to go with the 7900xtx instead, since I dislike Nvidia. Let's see what it will be in the end.
@@titsmcgee1538 Nope...in the US. When I bought the cards, the Sapphire XTX was $1039 and the Zotac 4080s I got for $1070

Thanks for watching! Sorry i dont know where to get a 4080 super in Oman
yea dif not worth getting a 40 card ..stickin with my 3080 till 50 series drops later this year.
At this point that sounds like a good plan! 50 series isnt that far away
with FG patch from FS3 my RTX 3090 rog strix have same performance on 2k dlss Quality RTX overdrive RR on .... shame Nvidia ppl enable on older GPU FG not you :)
That's a FSR 3 mod right? There's no official FSR 3 support for this game yet
@@BenchmarkBoy yes
You hear the disappointment in his voice.
damn, i think i always sound like that to be honest 😋 I'm actually pretty happy with this gpu compared to my 4080 in terms of price/performance
My 3090 isn’t far of this with frame gen mod
Nice!
Its not cheaper, you cant get it for msrp, at lest in Europe
its cheaper than when i bought my 4080 release day is what i was saying. The retail for the 4080 was 1.2k (my 4080 cost 1.3k) and the retail for the 4080 super is 999. I've seen 4080 super models in the uk for 950
It seems like there is no point in getting the 4090, its just overkill.
How good is the RTX 4080 SUPER?
2-4 FPS more, thats all!
Yep, you're right
but 200-300 euros cheaper, so in terms of price to performance it's alot better
yeah absolutely
@@silverbashspam9701 in Germany still 1200€+ for a good custom model 😂
@@REDDAMNyea from 1400-1800 to 1150-1600 in my country so still alot cheaper, the normal 4080 rtx gigabyte gaming OC is 1600 right now and i bought the super variant of the same gigabyte model for 1180
this doesnt even seem worth the cost with that performance output. I was most interested to see 4k on this card, but even 1440p kinda disappointing.
its PT... what do you expect there are like two games with it ( actually a bit more but those are like MC, portal, Quake 2 RTX etc ) its for future tech unless you are happy with the compromises today. The card is fine at 4K and 1440p without PT on.
@lilpain1997 well yeah, but you know damn well nvidia going to market these cards like their PT titans all the same. Take PT off, and the leap still isn't that impressive.
