- This 2008 GT500 has 22k original miles on it and is completely bone STOCK! This is also my personal car which I daily drive so I wanted to do this review now before I do any modifications.

Dude, I've got a 2007 also red with white stripes, with 58K miles and it's my daily driver also. Although I've got the smaller pulley with upgrades and 560+ HP! Love the Michelins also! You have to have fun! Glad you are enjoying yours also! Cheers!

Great video, I appreciate the lack of trance music in the background. Have been looking at one locally and think it would be a great DD. Not so much better on fuel than my 7.3 diesel but at least its easier to park in town!

Attitude is all about the altitude. Modify it, and drive it. I get flak about turning a stock 71 Cobra Torino with a Boss 9, into a drag car. But it was 10 years old, and had over 150k on it. It was the old family car. I would not do it today, due to the rarity of it. But 1980's me would. Do what you want to it so you can enjoy it.

I have an 08 red convertible. 542 rwhp with pulley,cold air intake and tune.
Nice! I did the same but also did an offroad H pipe and got 552rwhp and 559tq

Thanks! And yeah thats ny oversight. I took the word of a shop instead of diving deeper into it. Plus there's contradicting websites saying different things. Its weird. But if you look at the heads and block you can clearly see the difference
@@automotiveantics that is correct far as i know they never made any iron heads on any of the mod motors so idk why anyone would say that lol. The block is heavy but its super strong and much cheaper to replace should something happen God forbid rather than the aluminum 5.4 or even worse (price wise) the aluminum 5.8. These are just as good as any of them power handling wise if not even better and they can make just as much power also. These cars are one of the best bangs for your buck youre gonna find. Btw i love how raw it is and i also love how easily traction control is turned off. My 16 fiesta st which is my daily you gotta hold the button 5 seconds to turn it all the way off similar to newer mustangs. This thing you just tap the button and go lol.

Beautiful make, but the steering handles scary at 115+ MPH. Every bump while cruising, the rear wants to step outward too.
I think the steering is pretty stable but yes the rear wants to step out all the time. After a set of BMR control arms that problem was solved
@@automotiveantics maybe bc mine only has 22k miles. The steering is stiff like a little to the left or right can be over controlling at high speeds, like you could loose control. Plus the ass of the car feels higher than the nose. Weird feeling.
@@mikeprice8307 I bought mine with 20k miles and had 35k miles when I sold it. Never had the steering issue you are experiencing. Maybe there's an issue with your steering that needs to be addressed
MY 08 GT500 IS MY FAVORITE SHELBY AND I HAVE 2 SUPER SNAKES AND MY SHELBY GT LOL I LOVE THE 07 TOO 09 BODY STYLE
@@automotiveantics I needed new tires. The originals were stiff and dry rotting. That fixed the steering issue, but the ass still steps out at good speeds hitting bumps especially while passing someone.
Have the same exact GT500 but with 11,000 miles. The only modification I can see that has been done is a new shift knob. Meh. I am looking for the stock knob if anyone has one...

Dude...This is not a Dailey driver!! You have no idea what it means to own a 2008 GT500...I recently purchased a 2008 GT500 with 5500 original miles.... Vehicle is vapor with black stripes.. interior is beautiful... This is the kind of car you take out of your garage and drive it on sunny days or nice nights.. shame on you for driving this vehicle daily....You own something very special and should cherish every moment of it..Not drive it every day ! GT500's are a very rare breed.. There's heritage in all Shelby GT500's.. I guess you haven't figured that out yet..
Carroll Shelby has been my idol since I could walk. I'm very aware of how amazing the GT500 is. I take very good care of it but refuse to turn it into a garage queen. Shelby himself said he built his cars to be driven, not just parked and admired. So I'm my eyes I'm honoring him by doing such. If you would rather see yours in the garage that's cool and your decision. I cherish and enjoy mine every time I get to turn the key and realize how lucky I am to own it

Oh man, what a dilemma I'm now faced with. Do I listen to Mr. Alonzo or Mr. Shelby? Considering that I bought my 2009 GT500 new with 3 original miles on it, am its only owner, and is my daily driver with now 125,000 miles on it, I gotta go with Shelby's advice.
